  1. 1,001 actually :megalol:
  2. 2013 here I come :)
  3. Yeah, DCS is now pretty much completely open and modular. This means that devs can do whatever they want provided there is enough processing power in a computer to do it. AFAIK though, the lines can get a bit blurred when it comes to specific systems implementation such as radar, etc. which would require modification of the core World structure to get it to work properly. As far as the flight model is concerned however, it is all pretty open and accessible as it stands.
  4. DCS fast jet is coming out in 2020. Calling it now.
  5. I hope it gets released tomorrow. I wanna kill some MiGs:pilotfly:
  6. The keys show up when you are logged in and at any of the module download pages (not the store pages).
  7. I was making a joke, the U.S., E.U., Austrailia, South Africa, South Korea, and Japan are all on relatively equal footing when it comes to the issue of commercial air transport. Though this is largely through the efforts of ICAO. Really though, I agree. People make mistakes, and sometimes the mistake made wasn't a serious one, but results in serious problems. For example, a drunk pilot may not cause any mishaps, but on the same hand, a sober pilot may kill 30 people because of a failure to properly control his aircraft. Really, it should be the drunk pilot who didn't kill anyone who gets criminal charges, because he is knowingly putting other people at risk. However in the minds of the public, and in many cases the judicial system as well, the sober pilot is more guilty because he was the one who actually caused the damage, albeit completely by accident. In the U.S., because prosecutors must present a minimum level of evidence at a grand jury before a trial can be convened, basically nothing can be done without the NTSB first conducting a full investigation as to why the airplane crashed. And because the NTSB is not involved in making any laws, or any other part of the judicial system, there is no reason for them to be biased and present unsubstantial evidence of a crime for the sake of convicting someone. In this way, the system balances itself out rather nicely.

Thanks, I will be eagerly awaiting these postings. As always, best of luck with the project.
  9. Yes, there are no current plans for a release of an A-10C 2. it wouldn't make much sense either as A-10C is part of the DCS: W core now. As such no tremendous amount of work is required by the devs in order to bring it up to any compatibility standard (like with BS2).
  10. Ah, that makes sense. In the United States as well, pre-1970's NTSB, FAA, and Military investigation board officials had a nasty habit of asking "who and what" instead of "why and how". This led to blame being attributed rather quickly, however not much was actually learned from the incidents. It was all seen as either pilot or aircraft error. Very little blame was actually attributed to the correct sources until they stopped trying to lay the blame for a problem on a single party. As a result of this trend reversal in the 80's, the United States is one of the safest countries in the world (for aviation). Though admittedly the E.U. isn't all that terrible, so they must be doing something right, though the only experience I have with them is through ICAO and the CAA in the U.K.

I have no doubt that it will look the part indeed, that is, if current progress is any indicator. The real question is though, will it perform the part? I'm really looking forward to seeing some hard data on the work that is being done on the systems side of things regarding the Mudhen.
  12. Yeah, except as nice as the model is, it is still wrong in some areas. If it becomes a DCS aircraft though, I have no doubt that they will fix that up quickly.
  13. Thanks for the response, I will agree. It is quite strange. I should probably mention that I have a ~100 ping to your server.
  14. Done.
  15. Maybe it is because the server is so popular, I do not know, but for some reason I keep getting 'Connection Interrupted' quite often when playing on this server. Especially the V server. On the eight server, I often get network hiccups where everyone flies off at M2.0 in every direction. Though for some reason I seem to get less outright disconnects.
  16. Probably not very well, because he will be struggling along with trying to grasp the principles of air combat, whereas FC3 squadrons will already have a firm grasp of what is what.
  17. If you mean DCS: W crashing on multiplayer login, no, I am still having this issue from time to time.
  18. Yeah, it is like that is most countries though. In fact, living in the U.S. I am consistently amazed at the lack of data available to the public about aviation incidents. I suppose it is a little bit biased, but our NTSB has a complete database of required reportable aviation incidents from the last few decades, all, for the most part, available to the public. Why other countries don't do this, I have no idea. It is an absolutely invaluable tool for learning about and developing safe aviation transportation networks.
  19. Try this. On 1.2.0, make a mission with 50% fuel, no external weapons, but full ammo, chaff, etc., at 15,000 feet. Engage autopilot and fly straight and level for five minutes. Do the exact same thing on 1.2.1. After this is finished, repeat the process except add eight mk.82's on the aircraft. Post the results of both tests. This should pretty conclusively resolve the debate on whether or not engine performance has been altered. As it stands now, no one has produced any hard data on this matter.
  20. I'd wager to say that munitions simply have a better, more realistic impact on performance. Though if this were true, performance should have been increased, surely not the other way around.

I'm sorry, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? :pilotfly: Panels are looking absolutely gorgeous though :) Edit: Now thinking about it, this was probably a reference to the FC3 Eagle pit.
  22. But you admit, it is still acceptable :)
  23. Agreed, I would not be disappointed with either.
  24. Yeah, but then again, so does putting in the new F-15C cockpit. Really, what it comes down to is that we have absolutely no idea what is next.
  25. Yeah, except I imagine that the testers are about ready to rip their hair out :). At any rate, I hope they share some logs with us, but then it will kind of be like a magic show. They aren't fun anymore when you know all the tricks.
