  1. Dryer :P (Even that wouldn't do it, IIRC most households only use 1 phase)
  2. USAF? The Navy will clown you for it too! (Edit: They will do it anyway though) :D
  3. Don't hold your breath, the Kanji alone will take you ages, though usually you have the grammar and syntax down before that. The good news is that if you learn Kanji (Japanese) or Simplified Chinese (Chinese), it makes the other easier to start learning as many of the characters have very similar meanings. Though personally, I have absolutely no interest in learning Chinese. One language at a time, you know? At any rate, that Mitsubishi is probably a lot closer in function to the F-22A than the F-60 or J-20 are. Seeing as how a lot of technology transfers were done between Lockheed Martin and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. This is especially important since congress banned the export of the F-22A, which Japan REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted. Some of the tech transfers probably included advanced machining techniques (along with the equipment I'd imagine), formulas for radar absorbent coatings, technical algorithms for designing aerodynamically efficient stealth surfaces, and a lot of internal design specs among other things. It may not seem like it on the surface, but Mitsubishi and Lockheed Martin work really closely with each other. IHI is also working with GE to develop engines if I am not mistaken. At least past experience would point to it, IHI did some subcontracting work on making stuff for GE and Boeing. (Did I add enough "REALLY"'s?):D
  4. merica. Actually all sensitive electronics and most industrial equipment have two or more main draws + a ground, but the general gist of it is +,-, 0 (ground). Hence why the plug in the back of your power supply has three prongs (even if the plug to your wall doesn't). *Off topic like the Mars Rover crashing into the Sun: I came home to my parents house (only ~six outlets are grounded in the whole house mind you) and tried once to explain why (even though they had grounded the mains some years back due to some code being passed that required all outlets within 10 feet of a water source to be grounded.), the green light wouldn't go on in the surge protector when it was plugged in. They were CONVINCED that because the house was grounded, and that the wall outlets had three prongs, that everything was automatically grounded. Thus they just got really angry and called in an electrician to see why the green light wasn't turning on. The expert opinions was that most of the house was in fact, not grounded. I have absolutely no idea where I am going with this, but I hope that it proved useful for those of you who are electrically challenged (which is a lot easier than being computer challenged, and there are enough of those people).
  5. I sure hope it is, two DCS standard F-15E's can only breed competition which will end up bringing out some REAL quality.
  6. Yeah, you are absolutely right.
  7. The poster that referenced that 98kN number conflicts with the performance numbers for the FC-1 which rate it at 19,000 lbs (wet).
  8. It is his [virtual] job after all.
  9. Aircraft with high torque and low weight can do a maneuver known as a lomcovak. It is where the airspeed gets slow enough that the engine can create a yawing moment (via torque) that literally cranks the aircraft around on its axis. The P-51D can probably not do this, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone made it happen either.
  10. Yeah, the RD-93 is an RD-33 with some (minor) variations made to fit the FC-1.
  11. No, the attitude indicator in my Sr-20 shows me visions of the future.
  12. So have I, I am a pilot, and the P-51 in this game most certainly does not fly like a 172, or an Archer, or an Sr-20, or a King 350, or any of the other planes I have flown/am rated in/have been checked out it. It flies like a P-51D. Try looking for the gauge that says "Airspeed". That would be your airspeed indicator. It is located just below your dash to the left. Easy enough to spot. And as in real life, the attitude indicator does NOT indicate a level attitude. It indicates your gyroscopic attitude relative to level. The little bar is adjustable and can be set to whatever angle you want depending on your current configuration (This is because level AoA changes depending on your loading/airspeed). Options menu. It isn't all the complicated, and the menu's are laid out in a logical manner. If you need help finding anything though, feel free to ask. Don't insult the game though, it has feelings too! :D
  13. Wow that Viggen has a short TO roll. What was that, like 1,500'?
  14. Yeah, for the hourly instructor fee.. I hope..
  15. いえ、しんぱいないで。
  16. ありがとうございます。 でも、どこわリンクですか。
  17. Very beautiful. きれい P.S. Any info on where I can go to find a schedule for the Blue Impulse? I always wanted to go see them. IMO one of the best, if not THE best aerobatic teams around.
  18. I'm curious as to what engines the F-60 will use? There have been speculations on the use of AL-31F or RD-33 engines to power the initial prototypes until China can get their own engines into production.
  19. No one is judging Greece, we are just trying to understand the circumstances surrounding this case. My first question is why civil servants are allowed to go on strike? Shouldn't the first priority be the accused? At least in the U.S., federal employees aren't allowed to strike or unionize. My second question is, the devs have already been held for more than a week, so why hasn't a bail hearing taken place to decide whether or not they are eligible? If not, then that is okay, it's ultimately their decision to to what's best and what's equitable for them and the accused. I just think that it's fair that they be given a chance at least.
  20. Why isn't it out? Seriously, I haven't slept since they announced it. I'm almost out of caffeine pills, and my doctor says these hallucinations aren't contributing to my overall health. Plus everybody knows that the next module is the F-15C. They just put the new cockpit in FC3 as an added bonus (Based on my absolutely irrefutable evidence/opinion/psychic ball). :D
  21. I think people's main problem is that they expect the P-51 to fly like a jet (cripes, really you would be flying something like the P-51 as a jet trainer), so they sit down, fly for 30 minutes, and then say that it flies wrong. Well, newsflash, I wasn't very good at flying when I first sat in a real aircraft for the first time. In fact, with ~200 hours now, I'm ~good~, but not anywhere near really good, and there are CONSTANTLY more things to learn about systems, aerodynamics, everything. Most great warriors who have written books on strategy (Miyamoto Musashi, etc.) have said that they didn't even realize what being a perfect warrior even MEANT until they'd been training for 40+ years. And as a fellow craftsman, I agree. I will probably be old and gray before I finally realize what it truly ~means~ to be a really good pilot. People that give up though? And then say that something is wrong, or that it is too hard? It is so typical, it is almost laughable. I'll tell you what, when you take the time to sit down for a couple of hundred hours and learn an aircraft, really learn it, down the the systems, wing design, flaws, quirks, advantages, tactics, procedures, etc. THEN I will give you the time of day to listen to what you have to say. Though I would hanker a guess that the criticisms will be a lot more mild by then.
  22. That's really what I was afraid of. 18 months is a ridiculous amount of time to keep two potentially innocent people in jail for a crime that they may or may not have committed based on evidence that is sketchy at best. I mean, give them a bail price, let them go home, and give them an e-mail when it is time for their trial. I doubt that they will be running off to Pakistan any time soon.. If I had to spend a year and a half in jail (sorry, not jail, PRISON) waiting for a trail based on a crime I didn't commit, there would be hell to pay when I got out.
  23. Thanks!
  24. Edit: Soz, I was searching while I was writing. The F-60 sux (completely relevant, I will shut up now :D).
  25. Patent point aside, I see the point being made here. The U.S. is #3 purely in terms of trade, with the total trade value at something like $1,497,000,000,000 in 2011 (just behind the EU and China ($1,791,000,000,000 and $1,904,000,000,000 respectively)). You can see that we aren't exactly doing poorly in the export market. The reason (among other things) why the U.S. credit rating has been downgraded, and why we have so much debt, is because while our economy is still extremely strong, the U.S. government can't seem to control their spending. In fact, we could shut down the entire federal side of the government, stop paying all our employees, erase the military, and still be left with increasing debt. The amount of social programs and incentives combined with the low tax rate is what is increasing our debt, not the practices of private firms. Much the same is true for the E.U., however they have been suffering in many different ways far beyond from what the U.S. has had to deal with so far. I am not making these numbers up, feel free to refute them with facts if you want.
