  1. A lot of it depends on what the AI is doing in your mission, also keep in mind that engine wise, DCS World has quite a bit more on its plate than FC2.
  2. You can solve your problems, I'll be over here solving angles :D
  3. We don't want ED to go bankrupt..
  4. Yeah, I agree with Snoopy here. If you are going to mess with it at all, it is best that the system be left as is, but give people an option to turn it on/off at will. No, what it does is cause your client to lag while it takes the screenshot. Doing this in rapid succession can confuse the missile (and other players as well due to the warping).
  5. People cheating in a game? Well I never.. Something should be done about this!
  6. The evil gremlins have sabotaged ED's computers. Quick, someone call the Keebler elves, we need help to get FC3 back!
  7. Old dogs, new bone. I'm hoping one of the new features is AFM's for JDAM kits. That would be nice.
  8. Yeah, sounds about right for animals when it comes to aircraft :D
  9. Watch what you say or you are going to end up with a T-38C. Hey, it's a "C", isn't it?
  10. I'd venture to guess that you won't have to wait long to see either FC3 or a DCS: W update. At least it probably isn't going to take into next year.
  11. CHLMcp5v8m4 This is kind of how I feel about FC3.
  12. Challange accepted.
  13. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88996 Read that, it should get you started on what to do.
  14. No, obviously the community knows more than people who develop software for a living. There really are a lot of geniuses around here..
  15. I agree, if you close it now, people will lose their minds from lack of ability to rant.
  16. Yeah, I agree. I was getting at the idea that without those senses that people take more or less for granted, I don't think getting a handle on the Mustang IRL would be a lot easier than it is in DCS right now. The human body is amazing at adapting to changing conditions, so you have to be really really careful about what your mind is filtering out, but your body is still responding to. Maybe it was worded backwards, I don't know, I haven't exactly had a lot of sleep lately, and the sleep I do get is well, pretty poor.
  17. Hey guys, I am writing this from the not so distant future. I can confirm that FC3 is in fact out, however all time keeping devices seem to be broken and I cannot tell what day it is.
  18. Honestly I might be happier if you could send out the TACVIEWs for them :D
  19. Also, releasing a Youtube video broadcast of the events might not be a terrible idea. Stuff like this is always more fun when you can watch.
  20. Shouldn't it be possible to do some rudimentary calculations of vapor from velocity, air density, and G-loading info fetched from the sim? That way you should be able to get a propogation of Vapor somewhere between that of F4 and real life.
  21. Here, I found this article which describes roughly what I was trying to get at, hopefully this quells some of the qualms people have been having. http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/faa-pilot-performance-questioned-in-upset-recovery-training-334257/ Also, there is a lot of effort that goes into trying to balance out all of those "sensory" related effects. Too much head bobbing (while entirely realistic) also falls into the pitfall where a human's senses can adapt to and deal with a lot of the shaking and moving that comes with flying an airplane. I'm sure we all know how frustrated and angry we get though when everything is bouncing around in game and you can't see to click on anything :D Which brings me to another point that has been made before. The game may have to be changed from real life in a way that makes it feel more realistic, but this in fact makes it more unrealistic. How's that for a paradox?
  22. A couple of things: 1. If you are willing to spend that much money on a processor ($300 range) I would suggest buying a significantly high performing processor. The I7-3820 works absolute wonders, and you won't have to OC anything either. 2. If you do decide to get the I7-3820, you will need to select a new mobo. I would suggest the ASUS P9X79 LE if you plan on running mostly SATA 3 GB/s drives, or the Intel X79SR if you plan on running any SATA 6GB/s drives (SSD's mostly). 3.If you are still going with your original processor choice, which is fine either way, I would recommend getting an ASUS P8Z77-V LK mobo. It is going to be roughly the same price, but I trust ASUS boards more than Gigabyte ones. Though ultimately it is a pretty even decision either way. 4. For memory I would recommend either Corsair or G-Skill based on experience. Corsair has better reliability, but G-Skill is excellent, especially if you are on a budget. The G-Skill F3-12800CL9Q-16GBSR1 RAM set is an excellent choice. Their F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL set is also a great option if you are getting the X79 (I7-3820) based mobo. 5. Change the MSI graphics card to an EVGA one. EVGA has absolutely the BEST customer service of any tech company, period. That alone is a reason to choose them over anyone else. The quality of their products is icing on the cake. Also, not important, but there are a few performance related differences between the I7 and I5 series processors besides just the ability to use IV and HyperThreading tech. I7's will edge out I5's by a little bit, even at the same clock and same architecture/revision/batch #. Not anything large enough to make I5's not worth it if you don't have the money lying around, but still something to think on.
  23. Well, one thing is for certain. It being this early on in development, it is better if they make their decision to switch now, than later in the cycle after more resources get spent on it. Also not going to bet on either of them getting anywhere close to A-10C level. Especially if they plan to release in the next year or so.
