Will do - thanks much! I now have Beware Beware and will likely start it this weekend. Just going to be working on my landings a little more today, not fully satasfied with the consistency of them currently.

Hmm perhaps they do, did not know about this. Thanks for the tip, would certainly save me some time.

Yep no problem I have all the WWII content. Thanks,

Ok purchased, thanks again!

Hey gang, So I have decided to move my WWII action over now to DCS. Being able to use my Point CTRL with it and now the upcoming carrier ops with the Corsair has sealed the deal for me. Spitfire has been and likely alway be my favorite WWII fighter so I am starting there. Have now got cold start, taxi, takeoff, and landings down pretty good so I think I am ready for some single player campaign action. I do not do MP. Looking for any recommendations for a good first campaign. I do not mind payware, in fact I prefer it to help support the great campaign builders and I like good quality campaign that pass the DCS smell tests so to speak. Any feeback much appreciated, I am anxious to get started with this. Currently flying the Hornet and learning the Apache, so this will be a nice less complex change of pace for me.

Gotta love those new form factors now being shown. I ain't replacing my Aero anytime soon but will be excited to see where they are when I do.
-
I have learned to live with them on High setting, but yeah they are perfect in Ultra but my rig can't handle that, too big a hit on performance for my tastes.

They used to send the replacement first before taking the defective back. Ask them if they will in your case having a replacement be already bad. Can't hurt to try. -

Sounds like another support ticket is needed. Shame. -
Great I will proceed as I have been, thanks so much! I am so happy now.

One more probably dumb question if you don't mind. I did like you illustrated for my Spitfire setup. The software also has these default categories, like Aircraft, Briefing, etc. Is it better to put these in the appropriate heading or just leave them separate like I have my Spit set up? I am so happy now I can easily view the startup routine for my aircraft in VR, this along with other ones I will add is a great help for learning a module without taking headset off. Thanks again for the help,

Just really getting into DCS WWII with the Spitfire. Now that I have Point CTRL I decided I wanted to see how I like DCS WWII ( have always used the other one for that). I love cold starts. Plus the Corsair is coming with carrier ops who can resist that? Love my carrier ops in Hornet. Anyhoo I discovered something kind of cool yesterday. I know Virpil Encoders can be somewhat limited on functionality, but I have found they give me finer adjustment of my trims than assiging trims to regular hat buttons do. Spit is very, very sensitive on that elevator trim. Getting that thing trimmed for level flight at a certain speed, well it can be a challenge. I put it on one of my Virpil CM3 throttle encoders ( in additon to hat button) so now I have at my fingertrip a way to trim finer adjustments with the encoder. For more course trim like when first trimming the aircraft after takeoff I just use my hat button I have assigned as it works it quicker.

Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
dburne replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
If this keeps going on it may be Ti released before I can get a 4090. Had a couple of NewEgg notifications today and by time I clicked on the link they were gone. Surely at some point this crap will settle down. Crappy scalpers. -

Same here - I think. I now just click on Steam VR in Varjo Base and it launches immediately and is all good. Not sure if that way is actually using that any more or not. -
I love Vaicom Pro for ATC comms along with tankers , nineline, etc. So far it is working fine in conjuction with OK not sure why it wouldn't really. It uses original kneeboard though for briefings and such. Although there may be a way to put them in OK, have not delved quite that far into it yet. Main thing I use it for is comms. But I sure am enjoying OK now. It just needs a good guide written for old senile dummies like me. It is not one of those that just naturally comes to ya - or at least not me lol.

I am pretty sure putting a Virpil stick on a Warthog base is a major sin in most countries with heavy punishments...
-
I have Vaicom Pro which is supposed to let one take notes as well however i have not delved that deep into the weeds with it yet. I believe it is via speaking the notes.

Oh yeah baby now I be a cookin with grease!! Now I can get back to learning the cold start procedure. Thankfully it is much simpler than the Hornet which I have already learned, so this one should be a breeze for me. Thanks again!
-
I mean also how do you view it without peering out of your headset?
-
Man oh man you are my hero!! Working beautifully for me now! That is all this old geezer needed , instructions with illustrations that were clear, consider and easily understoof. Got her working now. Now just go to resize a little larger so text is more readable. I think I can handle that one! Thank you again for taking your time to do all that for me!!! The author should consider reaching out to you to write a guide for him. For folks like me it is needed. I just sent a 12 page pdf document ( Spit cold start) to VRK and it handled it quite easily in one pass. I thought it might be like Kneeboard Builder where it would have to split each page to it's own file, but it did not or it does it under the hood and I did not see it.
-
And how do you easily use it whilst wearing a headset? How do you see what you want to see in the headset? Just sounds too cumbersome to me. I do not want to be peering out of my VR headset breaking immersion. I want everything in the headset itself.

Ok just got back from my appointment and going to dig into your excellent post - now I am hopeful! Will advise how I make out here in a bit.
