Varjo Aero: Общее руководство для новых владельцев
dburne replied to Supmua's topic in Virtual Reality
Should be I would think, give it a try and if not go to using manual start of Steam VR. You will still need the addemum to the shortcut though either way. I don't have Steam version of DCS so can not test this for ya. -
Varjo Aero: Общее руководство для новых владельцев

Steam and Steam VR are two different programs. Yes you will still need to use the nomenclature above. Not sure on your second question. -
I will tell you DCS control setup menu can not be beat imho.

OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
dburne replied to nikoel's topic in Virtual Reality
I would have as well. -
Yeah two biggest fps hogs - shadows and msaa.
-
Techinally I would call it a Mod as it requires a dll file to be inserted. Same with getting Open XR to work in the sim. MSFS 2020 is only flight sim I am aware of that has native Open XR support hence no need for Open Composite or dll file insertion. Most do report even with running through both of those an increase in performance. Mine seemed to be slight, and I really did not care for going down that rabbit hole of all the tweaks one can do with Open XR Tookit so I reverted back to the simpler Steam VR.
-
Hmm I just checked mine and do not have a kneeboard.dll. I am assuming in the Vaicom Apps folder?
-
I personally prefer Steam VR due to it's simplicity. More time flying less time tweaking.

AMD 5800X3D, the new King for flight simulators?
dburne replied to maxsin72's topic in Virtual Reality
No way should joystick software have that kind of affect on gameplay. They should correct this. -
Ah well that is two different companies , my exerience with Vive Pro 2 was ok'ish but not great. Index rocked, just dated in the resolution and sde department now.
-
I have seen nothing but praises for Valve support across the forums.
-
We are 2nd rate citizens...
-
I have not seen an official answer to that but based on you response sound like they may have or it does not affect all.
-
Agreed. Plus VR performance took a bit of a hit anyway with 2.8. I sure hope multi core helps and I sure hope it comes sooner rather than later.

Varjo Aero: Общее руководство для новых владельцев

Varjo's Motion Smoothing they released in Beta form is very much broken and horrid for most. Best not to try and use it currently , hopefully they will make big improvements to it sooner rather than later. A lot of excitement was built up for this, it is pretty bad. -
Yeah I am with you there some clarification on that one would be helpful.
-
New version as of this morning 2.8.1.0 is out. Thank you guys so much for all you are doing and Merry Christmas to all!!
-
Yeah it is really that bad. Can't really say on your force steam vr question.

I have kept terrain shadows off. Have changed them to flat and will see what it does to me tomorrow sometime.

Vaicom 2.8 is only compatible with DCS 2.8.
-
Lol y'all probably get way more into the weeds on details in some of this stuff than I would even think about. Very informational though!
-
Ok so they are not necessarily selectable graphics options, guess I read it wrong thanks.
-
Ok I must be missing something here and yes I am fully updated. What the heck are you talking about this soft edge/hard edge option??
-
I like VR Flight Sim Guy and enjoy his videos and the enthusiasm he brings to them. However after his extreme high praise on Varjo's new Motion Smoothing for the Aero during his visit to their facility I am not going to put as much stock into what he says going forward. Varjo's new Motion Smoothing is a total wreck and pathetic , worse than any I have ever seen... That thing should have never been released in the state it currently is in.
