Thanks gang, well I am taking kind of a lackadaisical approach to this thing. Not in any big rush so I just put myself in to be auto notified with the MSI US store when they get a 4090 Suprim in stock to sale. If one comes available and I can get it I will, if not I will just keep waiting. I guess the main upside if I do the upgrade is at least I will still be able to get a half way decent price for my 3090.

Well dang sounds like I may need to rethink my strategy on staying with 3090 this go around. Not doing a new build for about another year. Thanks for the feedback gang.

Ok so if according to fpsVR my GPU runs around 20ms and my CPU around 11ms, which one is the bottleneck? I am running an i9 9900k at 5.1 GHz all cores and RTX 3090 GPU. I was holding off getting a 4090 as I thought my CPU would hold me back? GPU is like at 98% utilized and CPU around 30% or so.

RISE OF THE PERSIAN LION II RELEASED
dburne replied to Badger633's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Lol yeah trapping on that second mission was brutal I will say. What an incredible campaign thanks so much Badger for all your hard work for our enjoyment!! This is a must have for any fan of the Hornet! The one thing I love about his campaigns is it is like each successive one forces you to learn a little more than you previously have on the Hornet. -
Running a monitor whilst in VR must surely affect performance?
dburne replied to Whiskeybravo's topic in Virtual Reality
Lol I got my first VR Headset in Jan 2017. This question was asked over and over even then. And here we are some almost 6 years later still asking the same question. -
Yep Voice Attack with Vaicom Pro and a good HOTAS setup. I never touch the keyboard when flying. I also have Point CTRL so same with not needing to reach for mouse for me as well.

Varjo Aero: Общее руководство для новых владельцев
dburne replied to Supmua's topic in Virtual Reality
Well crap, I shall turn off my hopefulness for a bit. Thanks for the info. Yeah if they released it in a bad condition that would not be good at all, especially since it is Varjo and a very high price device. Thankfully I can at least get mine to where it is enjoyable even with no reprojection happening. -

Interesting I have not seen any feedback over on Discord regarding Motion Smoothing - are you participating in the beta? That sounds discouraging. -

As already mentioned Varjo is shooting for the next update for Motion Reprojection. No word yet on whether it will be on the official channel or beta channel. Early reports that were allowed seem to be pretty positive, proof of course will be in the pudding. I am running my Aero with DCS in full resolution and as long as I maintain little greater than 45 fps for me it is playable and enjoyable. I do only single player, mostly campaign flying in the Hornet and still learning process of the Apache. I look forward to seeing what kind of difference their motion reprojection will make. -
Yep quite a few actually. Doubtful at this point I will have time in my life time to truly learn all I have purchased lol.

Is a VR pixel pushed by Nvidia the same as a VR pixel pushed by AMD?
dburne replied to Cavemanhead's topic in Virtual Reality
Any good motor head worth his salt - and especially the ones that came from the 60's muscle cars, knows without a doubt a clean car will always drive faster and out perform a dirty car. -
Varjo Aero: Общее руководство для новых владельцев

Probably would not work for me as I use VR Optician Lens Inserts. However at the same time the vertical FOV does not bother me that much especially with the quality of the image I am seeing. -
For me personally I would rather they be developed as two devices rather than one that "does it all".
-
Very much this! I use a couple programs/devices that for me I consider crucial to my overall VR enjoyment. Voice Attack with Vaicom Pro for DCS. Point CTRL finger trackers for manipulating all those buttons/switches in the cockpit. Also freed up some button assignments in my stick and throttle. I can fly a full mission without ever raising my headset or reaching out for keyboard or mouse. Awesomeness.

Varjo Aero: Общее руководство для новых владельцев

Been using mine since getting it in late Jan, mostly a daily basis. Still blows me away, absolutely love that image clarity. -
So, I bought the Reverb G2 during the recent sale....
dburne replied to Slammin's topic in Virtual Reality
I have always been more about quality of picture versus FOV. Nice choice with the Reverb G2! Definitely have a go with it in your flight sims as well. -
OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
dburne replied to nikoel's topic in Virtual Reality
Pretty sure ED has mentioned they are looking at maybe adding native Open XR support. That is what needs to be done. -

dburne replied to Supmua's topic in Virtual Reality
I would imagine ED would have a much better idea of what code changes to their code would be required. And currently yes whilst a neat feature VR headsets capable of doing this eye tracking are not in great numbers, especially as even VR is still very niche. Fully agree though on Aero's clarity, I am enjoying the heck out of it every day! -

As I understand it is currently only in MSFS 2020 that it works. -
Now there is an interesting take I have not tried. Being one that still has yet to successfully top off I will have to give that one a try thanks.

Comparison between flight control device!
dburne replied to DLDragon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My short and sweet: I am running a VKB Gunfighter Mk III Pro with 200mm extension center mounted, a Virpil CM3 Throttle, and MFG Crosswind Pedals and absolutely love all three. Very high quality. Also in addition when flying chopper I remove my Virpil Throttle and use a Virpil Rotor Collective. My Virpil CM3 Throttle Review My VKB Gunfighter Pro L Review I would also note since that Gunfighter Review I have also replaced the MCG Grip with the Ultimate metal grip. -

I have always struggled trying to work with the Vaicom kneeboard as well and purchased it quite some time ago. I ended up just giving up on it at the time.
