  1. As far as I know, you have to do all the editing outside of the sim and completely inside of the video editor. Effectively, what you do is Fraps all (and maybe more than you need) the clips from the track you flew and then "cut together" those clips in your video editor; In my case, Windows Movie Maker. Run your tracks and Fraps multiple angles of the same time frame (time consuming), so that you have lots to work with and can edit the best bits together. Generally that's how it's done IRL (movies/tv).
  2. Coming in late in the thread... Overkill? I'd call that small scale shock and awe - elements of psych warfare. Just as important as shooting the enemy is scaring the living sh!t out of him, so that he won't want to come out of his foxhole.
  3. Well, it happened again. I decided to fly SvobodaV2 (MP mission, solo) and at the end I failed to find the *.miz.trk/*.trk file anywhere. Do I need to clear the temp folder out every now and then? There were a few files in there... I can't help but think Modman has done something to it, since I haven't seen any tracks since I installed it. I checked the properties and it was Read Only. This can't be the issue because there were still *.log entries of todays date in that folder. I will post results at another time...
  4. Just a hunch, more than anything. Firstly, roll back the drivers, create a restore point, restart your system. Upon restart, install those same drivers, using "troubleshoot compatibility" in right click context menu. Try XP 64bit. If this fails, simply roll back the drivers again. I got nuthin else! Sorry! :D
  5. There is Jessi. Mine is set in axis commands. Please feel free to use my control .lua file (attached) You extract the file into the default folder: C:/Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/Ka-50/blackshark Just click on "Load Profile" as above (top right). I hope this helps. Game input X52pro.zip
  6. I've posted in the general discussion area (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=829909#post829909), but I thought post it there. From original post: 159th Viper kindly replied with part of the answer: My problem is this: I'm now thinking that a .trk file will only be created when other players join. I doubt if this is the reason, as the SP version of the same mission doesn't write either, ie. kh-25ML anit ship miz by Dragon (still a fave :)).
  7. I had problems with SST direct output issues with my X52 Pro. Saitek Directoutput seemed to cause BSOD on my Vista 32 machine. The BSOD was a "Bad Pool" error. Direct Output, IIRC, is associated with the MFD on the throttle quadrant. Not sure if your X52 has this particular service attached to it, but I just disabled the service and I've had no problems since. Oh, also I have not bound any function to my ministick, also on the throttle quad. For some reason any continuous input through the ministick would cause all sorts of input lag - the buffer would be filled with all ministick inputs and the other inputs would lag behind until the buffer cleared. This could be in the order of 5 to 10 seconds of lag! FYI, I originally had my Shkval slew mapped to the ministick, but since changed it to POV hat 1. Now, no input lag and no BSOD!
  8. I love the EC135 as well! Here in South Australia the civilian version is used to SAR and retrieval, as well as the EC145. EDIT:Correction! Air ambulance here in SA use the EC130 and BK117! I need new glasses! Although, It's easy to make that mistake at 2km away :D
  9. Yup, that's how I expected it to occur, but the last 2 or 3 times I flew a mission I've hosted, I looked at the temp folder, those files weren't there. I've sorted by them date. As I alt-tabbed to explorer from the mission roster, I did notice a whole bunch of .tmp files present. Upon exiting BS, those files disappeared, but no .miz.trk files were present. I have recently installed the latest Modman and applied a few mods (textures and sounds). Could this be affecting the file creation in some obscure way?
  10. I have been trying to create a track from a short Multiplayer session so I can shoot some Fraps. The problem is, When I finish up (esc. and disconnect), I cannot find the trk file for that session. I didn't think I needed to complete all mission objectives to create a track. I have tracks in the temp directory from previous missions when I wasn't planning to shoot video, but I don't want to use any of those because my performances were less than impressive!:megalol: My qustion is how long do I have to wait in session before the track file is wriitten? Is there something I'm missing? Thanks.
  11. That's what FAB 500's are for :)
  12. Try switching on Flight Director (on the Auto pilot panel, blue buttons right hand console). This will steady the helo to some degree, but as Ramstein says, you must be gentle. Also try using your flares. IR missiles like MANPAD and SHORAD can be fooled by these. when you deploy, bank relatively gently, just to move out of the way.
  13. As humorous and far fetched as the OP appeared, I believe that Luke.S was genuine in his appraisal for the Airwolf concept and also gave an honest POV of what he enjoys as TV series. +1 for sharing, Luke.S. We don't mean to be harsh in reply or even rebuttal. We just seem to forget where we came from at times... Enjoy DCS:Blackshark as you like. It's your game :).
  14. Rookie Terrorists? I hate that tank especially... :D
  15. +1 for Falcon. I, personally would adjust my expectations from 99% to total 100% guarantee that this will not be released for the reason that Falcon1906 described. I think maybe, if this was to manifest itself in any way as a simulator, it would be as a Hollywood stunt pilot shooting scenes for the actually TV series. Each mission would consist of a scene by scene flightplan and deployment of pyrotechnics. The end result in a failed mission would involve being chewed out by the director for ruining his scenes. A victory means extra dollars in your wallet and a possible date with the lead actress... Just a thought.
  16. Could you please clarify your question, Scott? Are you talking about the virtual cockpit? Or in general, and none of your short cut keys work?
  17. Awesome work, Allo :). Yup, very interested here. Will reply PM in the near future... Cheers.
  18. Well, I can say in the last scenario I mentioned in the OP, I lost left engine oil pressure. Not sure if a lack of pre-fligtht warmup had anything to do with it. With all the answers here, I'm guessing I failed to switch engine anti-ice on (although I could have thought about doing it, without actually doing it!). Now, if damage modelling is as mentioned and, short of hovering above a sandpit, like J did (;)), does this have any affect on campaign missions? For example, should you actually perform a mission where damamge has accumulated, does this translate to a damaged ship in the following mission? I mean IRL I imagine mission to mission might be seperated by a factor of hours or days. Not enough time for an overhaul or engine replacement. I can understand the need for damage modelling if this were the case. I pretty much fly MP now, so I don't see how accumulated damage modelling will have any baring on how I fly in a MP session. I am not so hard core that I would actually care about my gearbox seals and barings are being worn at an exponential rate :D. This being considered for a moment, I am very rarely successful in making it home in one piece anyways!!:megalol:
  19. Rgr. Much appreciated :)
  20. Thanks for all the feedback. My question is more related to the operational capacity of the ship. With all anti freeze gear turned on, am I still able to throw the Shark around as well as maintain a stable hover in these conditions?
  21. I am, but am I doing that too late? Do I have to turn them all on before I get to sub zero temps?
  22. I have tried on a few occasions to fly missions in cold climates, the last being "On The Other Side". I know that the KA-50 has de-icing functions, but can't reconcile how to operate the ship as normal in sub-zero climates with these on. I seem to loose RPM gradually and can't recover. This tends to happen in prolonged hover, searching for targets. Any help would be appreciated. :)
  23. Johnnychemo, Welcome to DCS:Blackshark :). I take it from your post that you count yourself among the green flyers mentioned here? I apologise if I'm incorrect. If you had no idea of the learning curve of this sim was so steep, you are not alone. But the thing is, you've taken the time to sign up and post here, which tells me that you are keen to understand this game from people who know how it works. That's a good thing. If you take anything away from this thread it should be don't give up :).
  24. The default weapons in a mission will do the job. Rearm/reload will depend where you land as well. If you return to the FARP or field that you started from, you should be able to rearm/refuel ok. The thing is, you need to have your comms switch (4 way dial switch, Left console) set to ground, to be able to communicate with ground crew. Don't forget to switch back to VHF1 when they have done their business and you take off to do yours! :)
  25. Yeah, look at me...I bought a Saitek kit and I can barely keep up with you!;) Agreed, in that the kit is secondary to the one piece of kit that will make a pilot - your mind. Learn up as best you can. I can also personally vouch for the "buddy" system. Fly with folks who are not afraid to help you through. Combine that with the manual, producers notes, and self-paced practice.
