Hi Hollywood, gotta say Im really enjoying your app. Still working out a sweetspot for comfort and accessibility, but as I'm flying online a bit more (MP servers), I was wondering if there is a way for VA to use Speech to text for interacting with chat windows on a server? Not sure if this has ever cropped up. Being on a discord server is the best option for communicating with other players, but from my experience, more than half the players on a given server aren't on Discord or TS, but I would still like to communicate with them ") Cheers Spud
  3. As I'm completely out of my depth here, allow me to start by commend everyone here on your expertise on the subject. My only contribution would be that this module is still in early access, so your wishes may still come to fruition. Continue the good work.
  4. @jasonbirder, funny I have a similar situation with Kobuleti and Kutaisi. I figure it's just and issue of voice training. I'm going to run through voice training a couple more times, hoping this will sort out my atc interaction issues.
  5. I love my RTS and would consider moving CA to such a game mode a positive step for a couple of improvements. Firstly, having played the Combat Mission Series of games, a really intriguing feature of AI is unit effectiveness under fire; ie being pinned, panic level/experience, and in the case of armor or crewed vehicles, mobility kills due to crew incapacitation. Having a unit ignoring commands because their morale has hit rock bottom due to losses would be an added dimension that i don't think would add too much overhead to the game. Secondly, I would consider it a huge improvement to have a few more tiers of command level, with the ability to communicate between subordinates and central command affected by line of sight and availability of comms equipment. Not sure if LoS is implemented in CA in it's current build (haven't played in a wee while). Having an MP game where there is more than commander and JTAC slots to occupy, say for M1A2 platoon commanders to be occupied by a player, taking orders from from a Section commander and subsequently from the battlefield commander, and relaying real time battlefield conditions back up the chain. The AI under the command of the tank platoon command player would be subject to the morale and experience penalties. Just my 5c.

I'm guessing there will be something along these lines when AI soldier animations are reworked (I recall a mention of IK based ragdoll and skeleton anims in the roadmap?), but how about the ability to walk/run to your plane/helo? Maybe do walkarounds or run to your a/c in a scramble? Would it be possible to develop this as a separate module? I realise that the player base would want to "run with it" and request FPS mode if it were developed, but I can see the limitations.

  9. I can't state in more complete terms how awesome these videos are. I have avoided making any attempt to produce missions because I don't have an adequate understanding of the ME interface or mechanics. Many thanks for going to the trouble of producing these. Noobs like myself will learn so much! Cheers.
  10. Yeah, I just picked this title up a couple of weeks ago. I believe it has more realism in scope that Wargame Airland, but for the lack of visible air assets (although they certainly make their presence felt). I'm really enjoying the turn based aspect of it, as I just want to chill some nights after work and not have rush in a clickfest type RTS. Put as much thought into it as you need, make sure everything is where you want it, press the red button and watch the sparks fly :). There is also a huge number of assets available, different variant sof each vehicle and troop type, some with ERA, some with APS, all modelled pretty accurately. And the mod scene is also very active with some really cool sound mods. I hope DCS:CA gets some loving in 2.0, so as to make a real time environment to match CM:BS in depth.
  11. To be clear, I'm designing a collective controller and was hoping for an accurate figure. I guestimated a value of 16 degrees from rest, so I figure Bitmaster is the closest response so far.
  12. The collective bar itself. I'm assuming at rest, it's horizontal to the cockpit floor, but I need to know the full deflection up angle (to the cockpit floor).

  17. While my pledge wasn't as generous as yours Scoggs, I agree on the donate option. I'd love to see a STOVL version as well as carrier version. Lots of effort has already gone into the model. I'd like to see it in DCS.

  21. This is quite a cool element to add to missions. I foresee that I will be very familiar with the passenger compartment in the Huey over the coming months... EDIT: Future releases; Any chance ejected pilot models could have a smoke function for pickups?

  23. Ok, I have attempted a repair and that did not fix the issue. Instead, I uninstalled, ran CCleaner to clear the registry, restarted and then reinstalled everything on my primary (SSD), not my secondary (HDD), on which almost everything, except OS is installed. Everything is installed and updated to 1.2.3.10201 and running as expected, no errors. Must have been a windows update or catalyst update that affected the running of DCSW.
