yup, it's a toggle now. Nice. More options always better. Love the new looks of the cities and towns in south america, too bad they don't LOD correctly yet (eat a lot of frames they do)

Haha, friendzoned by a corporation XD Anyway. I do love DCS dearly as well and feel very grateful for the continued effort put in by all involved. Cheers.

Of the three, if I had to pick one, I'd pick Harrier. Why? Here's the pros: * It has a great view. Big old bubble, with pretty low edges. * It is agile and zippy, with a great thrust-to-weight ratio and a very nice roll rate when light. * It has this awesome noise when you pull back the throttle. * It can do some very interesting and hard to learn things such as vertical landings. So what sucks about the Harrier? * The targeting pod is a monster, being tacked on and shoehorned in by creative crayon eaters IRL and every maddening UI weirdness is faithfully recreated by Razbam (is this really a con then? ) * It's neither as supersonic fighter jet-y as the Hornet, nor is it as brrrrrrrrt, you die-y as the Warthog. It's a bit of both. So there you have it. Harrier for the win, all day long baby.

I like the thought of coherence. Through sheer mad mass we'll get there anyhow so yeah, let's just keep plugging. As for core wishes, well... I'd like better, more human-like AI behaviors, especially from ground units. No more sniper BMP-3's. 2.9 is great when it comes to looks and performance. With a little polish here and there, it's just perfect. And to think the future is bringing even more improvements when Vulcan hits. I love what ED are doing with the VOIP. Never asked for it, love it anyway. Can't wait to see what other monkies uncle Wags has up his sleeves

Having spent some time getting the settings just so and having had the sim rebuild its fxo and metashader libraries, I can only react with this to 2.9:
-
Also update your nvidia driver to latest, turn of dlaa.

Man I'm looking forward to a long, hard bout of tweaking to get it all to run perfectly on my rig I love PC gaming!
-
Ground unit accuracy is acknowledged as problematic by ED. I don't expect a fix in 2.9 however.

Ground units too accurate vs air targets

I wonder if there’s any movement on this issue. Is it investigated, is it on a to do list? Internally fixed mayhaps? -
Maybe me, but I reflew the old Georgia intercept instant action to see if the radar gunsight fix is real, and it seemed hella deadly. One short burst put the fokker down, where it used to take almost all of the ammo to down it.

On a monday.. how bizarre

It is really great. The book alone is worth the price of admission imo. Such a generous add!

If anything, the F-4 backseater should quip and joke even more (and way filthier) than jester, as fighter pilot culture got way more serious towards the end of the cold war until it became the church going eagle scout troop it is today.

'What shortcuts or best-practices save you a lot of time?' * Use the backup folder in the DCS main folder to replace all files that were changed from defaults (things like changed instant action missions, modded files, etc.) These files all get reverted to default every time a patch hits. * Use the skatezilla launcher app to do things like launch in VR or not VR, delete FXO and metashaders after patch or driver update, etc. * Have fun first. Crawl walk run is no fun if you force yourself to crawl through freezing mud. If the crawl phase for you consists of throwing CBU-97 at stationary tanks, that is *fine*. * Speaking of back-ups, your control settings are not in the DCS folder, but in /users/-you-/saved games/DCS/Config/Input/ . Make a backup of that if you ever decide to change computers, nuke your OS or whatever. 'What did you wish you knew sooner?' * How good the training missions can be. Not all modules have great ones, but most do. * Multiplayer ain't half as scary as it's made out to be. 'What are the lesser known functions/features of DCS or of a module you fly?' * Default labels are a mess. Big bright lines of text that become a mess real easily. Use symbol or dot labels if you find spotting too hard (I know I do).

Even with "hear like in helmet" the ECS drowns out radio and other sound. May be realistic but also annoying as heck.

GBU-28 malfunctions in mission "Bombing Range Demo"
schurem replied to HoneyFox's topic in Bugs and Problems
Huh, so that's what's wrong. And here I was going thinking I was borking things up. -
Hi, I have a magnificent button box from Totalcontrols.eu and it has a ton of rotary knobs, for things like volume, brightness, etc. I would like to be able to bind these to things like FLIR brightness and contrast. Please add some control bindings for such. Thanks in advance.

Seconded. As long as its fictional. I really rather not bomb Gaza.

Used to be this guy on reddit who'd run a diff on all game files to make real changelogs. Autism as a superpower!

Dlss is a task for the core programming team. They aren't done with MT yet. Viper radar is a whole different thing, different people probably too.
-
Patience. These things take time. MT isn't entirely debugged yet, and the pipeline is full with that for now.

The new flight modelling is *so* good! I am very happy with how the gazelle is turning out. Sure there may be some small niggles left to iron out, but in the whole, it's a whole new chopper, and a *good* one, a *fun* one! Thank you very much for updating this little hotrod!

Cangratulations on the success of your release! it is excellent. Especially around dusk, it is just steps beyond the other maps. It is blazing fast, despite the millions and zillions of buildings and things. I am overjoyed with it. I can't wait to see minor things getting ironed out, such as the weird textures on the islets in the Nile river and the low rez sphinx.
