I just started using 1.12 lol .. How many servers running 1.14? And does it allow you to also use 1.08 as well? I really dont like the way there are so many beta patches being used by the community I wish ArmA would clear all this up .. Edit: I just checked and 1.14 looks official .. finally an official patch release. :D

I voted to release the template too. I only fly historically accurate skins but I'm assuming that when you release the template people will make what ever skins interest them anyway, whether it's a real world accurate scheme or a fantasy skin.

CAMPAIGN FLAMING CLIFFS QUESTION
Cosmonaut replied to zoranin's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
eagle is the official password if you're interested :) . -
In all the years I've been here I have had arguments, been called names and I've had every thread I have ever started in the Chit chat forum removed by the mods, except of course the one that's in there now, that is in fact my first successful thread in that forum but hey I guess it could be removed at anytime too ;) . You don't need thick skin rattler, what you do need is to prioritize the importance of internet forums. You have to realize that you can't take any of this seriously becasue you wont last very long in any activity that will require some form of online dialog. And to leave the forums just because some of your questions weren't answered is a very extreme reaction. I ask questions all the time that aren't answered and I don't give a rats ass.. maybe the person I asked didn't think it was a good question or something but I don't really care becasue I don't think about the forums once my PC is switched off .. Anyway take a step back and you'll realize that all contributions here are helping someone so to disappear from a sim forum doesn't achieve anything.

DCS: Black Shark - Dev Updates - 09 July 2008
Cosmonaut replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It might, but considering the present list of future aircraft to be developed then even if they get a military contract, for the aircraft I've mentioned, it will still most likely take more than 10 years to develop.. -
DCS: Black Shark - Dev Updates - 09 July 2008
Cosmonaut replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Matt, I can't tell you how happy that part made me :D:D . Finally resources are being aimed at multiplayer with thoughts of not just how we are actually going to set up missions but what type of missions will best suit the aircraft type we're going to fly, ie coops for BS and adversarial once we get some fighters to play with. Every successful sim IMO is a result of an online environment that's very addictive e.g M$FS (Vatsim network), IL2 and hopefully we'll be able to add DCS-BS to that group too :) . I have to say though that I'm bitterly, bitterly disappointed that the navy wont be showing it's head in any DCS release. I know the reasons why but when you see it in black and white it just adds a finality to the dream of an F18/Su33/Mig29K modeled to BS standards that just basically sucks :( . Although at least we will be getting a Su27 and Eagle to go head to head with so if we are allowed a vote then I would say to the DCS team that if it comes down to another chopper or bomber then forget them both and give us some fighters :) .. pleasssszzzee. :v: --------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh and why infect this thread with ugly pics of Falcon!! LOL -
Looking real good Deadman  . I can only imagine the amount of work you've put into this. :weight_lift_2:

Great Job .. Did you make two separate .cdds files? One for .tga and one for bmp files? Creating a cdds file with different file types isn't recommended :v: .

As long as the FM is good then it will be fun. ..Hmm those wheels look suspiciously like lockon Mig29 wheels.. I wonder if they're just a copy and paste job from the LockOn's Mig template. Edit: forget wonder they have to be .. look at the marks on the tires they match Lockon exactly ;) .

Just a thought .. try using the mouse in your left hand to look around. I've been doing it that way for years and it's just like moving your head. Just plant your left wrist on the mouse pad and move the mouse left, right up down etc with out lifting your wrist off of the pad. It works great and only takes a few minutes to get use to it. :)

aha! this is why the f-15's flies in a "gay" way..
Cosmonaut replied to Kevlon's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
India won but no conclusions can be made from the results other than the USAF wanted to justify the expense of the F22. The ROE prevented both sides from using their best weapons and tactics so basically it was a public relations exercise. Personally I think updating the F15 would have been more cost effective before the transition to the F35 and then unmanned drones ... but as an aviation enthusiast I can appreciate the insane capabilities of the F22. Would make for a boring sim though ;) . Just goolge Cope India. http://vayu-sena.tripod.com/exercise-cope-india-article02.html http://www.defensetech.org/archives/000976.html -
What type of FFB stick do you have Logitech Force 3D or M$FFB 2?? Have you tried this solution: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=65263&postcount=4

SIMHQ`s DCS: Black Shark Preview Report #2
Cosmonaut replied to EagleEye's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Just like in LockOn I bet you'll get an English Nagging Nadia but I personally like to immerse in the Russian cockpit so I keep the verbal warnings in Russian, even though I don't speak a word of it ;) . After a few minutes it's pretty easy to tell what she's nagging about anyway. -
How cool is this :D :http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/7402016.stm

The fighter fight: MiG-29 vs. F-15 vs. Su-27 vs. Su-33
Cosmonaut replied to Alexrey's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The original series of Star Trek .. It's the unofficial manual for all good fighters pilots and a great source of info :smilewink: :D:D .. ps ..I was joking but don't tell anyone else :smilewink: -

Cosmonaut replied to Alexrey's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
As you say I was generalizing :) . Most V-pilots don't want to think they have it easy but then again they don't want anyone running down their favorite fighter either. ;).. -

Everyone wants to believe they have it harder than the other guy ;) but when someone questions the strength of a particular fighter in LO, then we hear the same people shouting "your not flying it right" etc :) . The fact is that every game/sim has a BFG (Big ****ing Gun) and in LO that's the Mig29. Yep I've said it, they have it the easiest and not becasue of the R77.... oh no it's becasue of that one piece of Russian technology that western scientists have drooled over for years and that is the LOD cloaking device. Many people think the reason the Mig29 drinks so much fuel is becasue the engines are so thirsty,.. oh no, the dilithium crystals used to power the cloaking device chews up most of the fuel but at least the benefits of not being seen out weigh any fuel issues by far. That and the fact that Mig 29's can only fly in three directions left, right and down. Moving the stick backwards has no affect which is why they look up with envy when they pass underneath A10's wondering what it must be like to fly at such altitudes of 50m .. ;).. This should really be a poll because, as we all know, scientifically they're more accurate :D . -
LOL I know what you mean.. Safari toped that list but that's Apple and I'm not into their idea of a DRM filled PC universe, ... also it looks dull, boring and it just doesn't score high on my cool test :smilewink: heh but if it works for you then fine it's all about personal preference. FF works great and I have had no problems with it in terms of speed or general performance and I doubt if anyone would notice a difference while surfing around with anyone of the browsers mentioned in this thread. .However in terms of ease of use, looks and addons then you should really give FF a try. Here's my favorite FF themes; https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4618 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4391 I use this one mostly though: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1790

I know exactly what you mean... I started a Mig-29 project awhile ago and thought I'd redo some panel lines.... OMG I dumped the idea after about an hour and just used the default Mig template.

People are interested, it's just the mid-week blues ;) ..:thumbup: Looks great man especially the cockpit area.

Playing against AI will help you get your routines down like selecting different radar modes, maintaining a lock while performing evasive maneuvers etc but things play out differently in multiplayer, so once you get the basics down then just get online and after a few sessions you'll get the hang of it.

I have a couple of F14 books that were scanned in and made into PDF files. I'll send them to you and if you think the carrier fleet mod crew can use them then you could pass them on. I can't put them up for general download but I'll PM you the links. I also have an F18E book as well but I can't remember who's working on that project. Edit; Found them online for free so I guess I can put them here for download. :) F-14 Tomcat.rar F-14.rar F-18E & F-18F Super Hornet.rar

Save yourself from browsing ugliness and switch to FF.. :P

Gorgeous !! I hope one day ED decide to make anyone of their future projects as accessible for modders as the M$FS series has been and still is.
