  1. Yep I’d have to agree with you on that. ED have the height and distance of the ricochet about right but the bullets don’t scatter enough when they bounce back up.. It should be more like a chaotic shot gun effect instead of a controlled water fall where the deflected rounds are still staying close together. Here’s a nice vid of how the Gatling gun works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxFMFZVQ968&mode=related&search= LOL yeah “there was traffic on the 504 but our eye in the sky helicopter just cleared all lanes .. BTW our chopper is sponsored by Smith and Wesson" ;)
  2. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=18291 :D
  3. Tennis balls .. in real life its more like footballs .. check out this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AElib2BPf-g
  4. That’s one impressive WAD !! ;) The ability to hit six targets and carry a true A2A weapons load is just amazing.
  5. Finally a reason to break before flying over the target you just shot up.. It is possible in R/L to actually shoot yourself down by flying into your own bullets but I don’t know of a sim that actually models the “ricochet” effect.. Assuming that the ballistic are the same for all aircraft in Lockon then am I right in saying that all flyables will model this?
  6. If you guys really wanna see a crazy trailer then go to U tube http://www.youtube.com/ and search for these two Reservoir Dogs Game trailers.. “Reservoir Dogs Granny Long Version” and “Reservoir Dogs Cowboy Long Version” Be warned extreme language so if you are easily offended don’t bother ;)
  7. It could be a part of a movie or promo film; something like that. I remember seeing this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qt4b78iF4ZU a few years ago and I thought it was real for a couple of days. Then someone told me it was from the film “Meet Joe Black”.
  8. Well after closer inspection I vote for fake. Enlarge the video and it looks as though the plane is translucent and disappears a split second before impact ..could be the quality of the vid but I doubt it ..
  9. OMG :shocking: never seen or heard of that incident before . I am tempted to say its faked but it looks so real …. But how “lucky” was the camera man/women to catch it on their camera… wow! :surprise:
  10. That’s great! Any chance you can throw some canards and a tail hook together ;) hhe just kidding… Awesome work on the Su27, look forward to hearing about your progress.
  11. Well you can modify anything you want, almost everyone with M$FS has something installed that they have modified themselves, even some payware add-ons but what you cant do is put them up for download or encourage others to do the same. There are a few things that payware addon makers will over look, like giving instructions on how to use a cockpit on a another aircraft etc but not much more than that. As for free addons; well the same rule applies but what you can do is email the designer and ask for permission to do what ever it is you want and he/she may grant you permission. Just remember to always include, in the readme, info regarding the original designer. Ah yes Ghost Recon, had the best and most logical way of using Mods in a game that I’ve ever seen. Instead of dividing the community it actually brought them closer together. When I stopped playing GR I think there were two major weapons mods that you had to have to play online and the one I had was called the GRM4 (something like that) which gave you an extra 200 guns, awesome mod and very well represented online.
  12. Anyone looking to start off with a small project first, then I think some new drop tanks for the Eagle would be very much appreciated by a lot of people ;)
  13. How sad.. I heard this about half an hour ago .. :( A unique character that the world will surly miss. :(
  14. Here’s a cool video of the 22 in testing; check out the raptor with external fuel tanks . Never forget what real pilots have to go through; warning some mildly colorful language… may not be suitable for children ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYjTQ7CNJFA&mode=related&search=
  15. I doubt they’ll reply but they are listening... so don’t be =( .. be :D
  16. LMFAO @ Kenan PFMM cant remember those missions specifically but you could try spreading out (pincer) left and right to split the enemy so its more of a one on one engagement. You will be better than the Ai so if you can get two of them or get one and make another go defensive then you will soon out number the enemy which should be the main aim when it’s like 4v4. Personally I only design offline missions for a 2v2 engagements because you can employ a tactical solution with in reason of a realistic outcome in terms of communicating with your wingman. When you have more than one AI aircraft to give orders to, with key commands, then it can get a little frustrating and chaotic but 2v2 is just right.
  17. Some missions will be a little buggy seeing as they were most likely designed for a previously patched version of LO:FC. I had a similar problem with that campaign and here’s how I got around it so I could play the next mission: Open the campaign in the mission editor and press “ctrl + shift + d” and type in the password “eagle”. If that password doesn’t work then press “ctrl + shift + c” and type in your own pass word e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4. Now press “ctrl + shift + d” and type in the pass word you just made up e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4. This will open up all the missions in the campaign allowing you play anyone you want.
  18. I totally agree .. I don’t believe in the idea that ED are trying to balance game play in anyway and comparing the r/l kill ratio of the F15 to lomac is a little tricky because the Eagle has never faced most of the fighters in LO. .. That’s not even mentioning skill level (training), out numbering the enemy etc.
  19. Mmm that is weird. Maybe there’s already a file by the same name in the folder you’re trying save it in? Try saving it in a different folder and see. Anyway don’t pull your hair out about it because the whole “saving mission” process can be very buggy so if you come up against a problem then just accelerate the sim as I suggested and you can get back to the place in the mission in a few seconds/ minutes. Lastly post your problem in the bugs forum and you never know someone might come up with the answer in time. Sry I cant help you fix your problem.
  20. Love the way it displays the runway chart with MAP point and dme distances..
  21. I’d love to have a British harrier and an aircraft carrier .. oh what do they call them “Through Deck Cruisers” or something like that? You see I have this need to jump jets off of ramps :D
  22. :D :megalol: :D :megalol: :D :megalol: :D :megalol: :D :megalol:
  23. My reply from the UBI Gen fourm.
  24. Nice job.
  25. 1. You should only have to make two evasions against an F14 before he goes defensive and the first Aim54 is the most difficult to get through. ECM jamming makes this much easier but with out ecm the power of the tomcats radar can fog your RWS, making it difficult to predict the proximity of the missile. Your aim is to get with in firing range and once you defeat the first missile then you should be close to your Rmax range so as soon as you can, fire and maintain lock. Now the second evasion can be done by looking out of the cockpit at the missile itself, the Aim54 has a huge motor so you will most likely see the smoke trail coming at you. I personally choose visuals to evade the second one basically because its more fun that way and gives you much better SA on the bandit. 3. As has already been said fire and forget is really fire, hold lock until the small radar on the missile can lock onto the target and at that point you can forget. Heat seeking (IR) missiles on the other hand are true fire and forget, as soon as they leave the rails you can select another target and fire, so make sure you always carry a couple of R-27ET’s (ET’s for an IR missile have quite a long range).
