  1. Nice .. But that's not a low pass  a Falcon only has one engine so he's just getting up to speed so he can climb to his initial altitude :D . F16 + 2 = F18: Ah that's better
  2. Yeah I know .. but "... until Santa brings us the real Ka50 down the chimney after the localization work has been completed and it's then submitted for 90 days to the various Age Rating Authorities", is just too disappointing to keep bringing up :( .
  3. I think by the time Wags said that ED were aware of a pirated copy, however I wouldn't hold my breath for anything until it's announced and you've downloaded the manual. Until then anything and everything could change although I assume that seeing as ED are now trying to get the demo ready for this side of Christmas, they are working on an assumption of "idle hands.." ;) so to keep us kids out of mischief they're going to want to give us some stuff to play with until Santa brings us the real Ka50 down the chimney.
  4. That statement is a huge leap of faith. :smilewink: .. IMO it doesn't even look as good as the SFM in Lockon. In fact the F15 in LO looks more like F16 HUD tapes I've seen than anything coming from any derivative of F4. I'm not saying this is how it actually works but... F4's FM has always seemed like numbers in a given target area were being reached, for example, an F16 can roll X degrees at Alt X when at speed X, so if you push the stick it rolls exactly at that speed that was set in the FM and all other inertial aspects of flight have just been left out. This gives the entire flight envelope a very scripted feel and appearance and how the F16 reacts to the gas it's flying through doesn't seem to be modeled at all. The cockpit in the first video moves around the sky like my mouse cursor moves around my desktop and that is with a precision that only a computer can generate, don't get me wrong it looks like a vast improvement, but still a lot looks like it's missing to me.
  5. What ever happened to just put the disk in and play..
  6. ... sure that's not you.. :music_whistling::music_whistling:.
  7. Cool gonna try this out ..:thumbup:
  8. I see once again it falls to me to lower the tone of this place :music_whistling: . .. My work here is done :ufo:.
  9. If I had the guts to jump off a cliff I'd give that a go :pilotfly: . Interesting concept :noexpression: .
  10. It is a little odd that BS feels like a sim that has yet to be released  . In terms of user created media, it's like a ghost town :helpsmilie: .
  11. Lloyd "Boots" Boothby ... :) couldn't remember so I had to break out the footage. Here's a voice recording I made with my cell phone. .. don't expect surround sound ;) Lloyd "Boots" Boothby (253kbs) I assumed he was talking about the Eagle but it's unclear. Recorded from Airwars on the History channel. http://www.torch.aetc.af.mil/department/story.asp?id=123070019 .. really  Lloyd Boothby.zip
  12. I'll get back to you regarding the last bit.. arrg can't remember the guys name.. It'll come to me though.
  13. Great motto to build a fighter around .. one reason IMO that makes the F15E seem blasphemous ;). What was the design brief given by that Red flag guy..?? Something like "put the pilot in a glass bubble, wearing a bathing suit with an I wish you were dead missile".
  14. Finally a Russian jet gets some well needed TLC. Looks fantastic too :thumbup: .
  15. I'm sure everyone was disappointed when BSO came to an end but those videos were awesome GA  Even now I still consider them to be some of the most dramatic tailors for any game or sim I've seen. :)
  16. Thanks for that EvilBivol, at least there's hope :) . I know this may not make it onto the western DVD but damn I sure hope it does.
  17. OMG .. Dude just put your hands up and step away from the violin please. There are some of us here that may not buy DCS : BS becasue of the way the limited activations might work .. And we aren't crying about it. If you don't want to buy then don't, I'm sure others will purchase BS so don't be so disrespectful to a company that's only trying to do what it feels is the best way to protect its investment so they can continue to produce great sims for all of us. If the CP they choose is not for me then so be it, I'll find another hobby or continue to play LO: FC which will still be a great sim years from now.. But don't go and get things fired up in a thread that's been nothing but civil since it started.
  18. I hope that ED change their minds or come up with a better solution. IMO activations will only serve one purpose and that is to decrease the appeal of DCS: BS to those that wouldn't normally buy a flightsim. I mean most of us here on the forums are already supper fans creating mods, tutorials and keeping the community alive on the boards but When ED make a sim as scalable as BS then I assume they want to increase their share of the flighsim market. However If someone picks up BS off the shelves and reads about registrations, activations, reg utilities, phone activations etc are they really going to be motivated to do anything other than just put it back down and pick up Ace combat. I understand those that say "I have no problems with activations" or "I don't upgrade my hardware much".. etc but shouldn't we be looking at expanding flightsims beyond those of us that would most likely put up with anything no matter how restrictive or intrusive the procedure would be to play our favorite flightsim.
  19. I understand ED's need to protect their intellectual property but IMO limited activations is just a step too far. Yes other companies employ similar CP systems of registration and activation but almost all of them have been cracked. In fact some people buy the software legally but then choose to use an illegally pirated version becasue it's less hassle for them as an end user. I think balance is needed for sure, when Lockon FC came out with the once a week CD checker I thought this was the best solution I could have ever imagined. A high level of security which actually made it easier for the customer than any other game on the market. Now with DCS: BS with registrations, activations, dvd checkers and reg back up utilities we have taken a huge step backwards and BS will become the most difficult game/sim or software to manage on your PC. Gamers have been moving away from the PC choosing to buy consoles instead and one of the reasons is that the console offers you hassle free play, just place the disc in the machine and that's it, no hoops to jump through. Unfortunately the funny thing is that sales for console games out strip anything a flgihtsim could dream of and console games are the easiest games to copy or dl. I know ED aren't just sitting their coming up with ways to make things more difficult and I know they're only doing what they feel is best for all of us but I just hope it works. I'd hate to see a situation where all of this new CP is in place and then guess what shows up for illegal download a few days after BS is released.
  20. No girls this time.. don't ask me why ;) but here you go:
  21. Well The final Moto GP race is about to start so if you're a fan of motor sport the get on you sports channel and tune in. Valentino Rossi already has the championship but Rookie of the year is still up for grabs but in Moto GP it's always a good race. Final two races for World Super Bike are in Portugal November the 2nd.
  22. I'm afraid I'd borough Viper's script as well if some one asked me to prove I purchased a game. I personally don't subscribe to the whole ID culture of living in fear and treating everyone like criminals. I give people trust until it's time to take it away from them. It just pisses me off each time my life it made more difficult because a few people abuse the system and the worst part is that the thieves are only ones living free becasue they don't have register anything.
  23. What's dynamic? I think the recent bannings tell their own story ;) .
  24. .. unless the new measure enlist the aid of a time machine to go back and not release the compromised RU DVD then it really is all pie in the sky. But OK I'll take your word for it. :) Although I'm still hoping that ED will choose not to make those of us buying DCS:BS dvd register and I'm really hoping that limited activations gets no where near the disc ;). Neither of which will do anything to protect BS better than LO:FC. I have my moments :D .
