Me to the Su25/T is so much fun because it is such a pig to fly  The announced upgrade for FC2 is probably all we'll get though. Maybe if we all wish real hard Ricardo will do a 25 pit to compliment his excellent 25T pit;)

No patch yet, hasn't even been announced as in development, maybe after 1.1.0.8. But who knows when they'll stop packing in goodies, 0.8 has surround sound what will they think of next! As to the question of price cuts for customer loyalty, thats only beneficial if you have competition offering a simliar product. When you're the only supplier you can name your price. One of these sims will last 100 times longer on your HDD than any other "game" so it's still great bang for your buck.

Heart Broken cause of my warthog stick
Scarecrow replied to bumfire's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I strained a muscle in my back the first day I had it, been ok since then. That totally sucks though, hopefully repositioning it will ease the strain. -
This is an entertaining assessment of the DCS A-10 experience...
Scarecrow replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
ED should take this kind of review in their stride, there will always be a new crop of blossoming sim enthusiasts reaching maturity every year. The casual gamer will give up after a week and claim "It's a game, it's meant to be fun" due to the classic misconceptions that learning isn't fun and an achievement is only worth having if its logged on your steam profile. As for the training, the only area were I think ED could have done more is on the CDU but as others have said the community provides so it's not really neccessary for ED to spend money creating training materials for the finer points of the sim. Saying that the "Wow it took 15mins to start" thread shows how many forum members seam to delight in treating beginners with such disdain as to make this community, which should be smarter and more mature than the average group, a hard one to learn from. P.S "Master Seargent Extreme Seargent Master Shooter Person" almost made me cry:megalol: -
That would be perfect if we ever get DCS: Hind. You're a bit mental aren't you?

Integration of TIR API calls from within DCS?
Scarecrow replied to Scarecrow's topic in DCS Wishlist
Yup already got MSP as toggle using that method, works fine but as I say I have to resort to the keyboard for recentre. Got the paddle switch as a modifier and I don't want to use slew press as in the thick of battle it might be problematic. It really isn't a big thing in the grand scheme but if the dev team could work this into the series in a future release the flexability would be better. I like programming any stick from within the sim, since Lockon 1.02 I've found the inbuilt system better than saitek or logitech's profilers and as I say I'm avoiding Target for A10c as it would be to much hassle to implement. It's just a wish not a moan, I think it would just make something great (DCS) even better. -
Just got Cliffs of Dover and I noticed that you can set TIR commands from within the sim, GT Legends provides the same functionality too. Would love to see the same in the DCS series someday if it were at all possible. I have a TM Warthog so I use MSP for TIR toggle but I have to jab the keyboard for recentre which is kinda awkward, don't want to go down the Target route there's to much work involved. This would be of use to anyone who wants to avoid profiler software running in the background and it would compliment DCS's excellent control mapping system. As this is the wishing place I wish this could happen.

Yup extending the stick length is a very good mod to enable precise control across the entire throw of the stick. I may do it later down the road. Strangely it was only yesterday I started drilling AAR and quickly discoverd I would need to increase the curve on my Warthog, my thinking is set the stick up for AAR and then relearn the BFM's based on that curve as AAR is a necessity. Will try these settings Strongharm they might be the answer.

HOTAS Warthog Ch Pro Pedals Trackir 3 Dual moniter setup TM MFD's G940 stick for IL2 Modded x45 "pot box" for IL2 Serious flight sims demand geekdom if you want to really enjoy immersion. I personally feel that spending 100-150 quid every weekend on booze is a far sadder existence but the guys at my work disagree. Everybody has a thing; be it motors, bikes, music, designer clothes or drugs and we all think the other lot are wasting their money. Live and let live.

Watched that film, liked it too, isn't it funny how one ninja is almost completely lethal but 20 of them are pretty easily defeated? I mean they should be twenty times more effective than one or maybe there is some vector addition going on so 20 should be at least 10 times more effective than one;) You should try reading Shogun by James Clavell, it's a great book, don't know about the accuracy of the cultural history/commentary but Last Shogun seemed to have beeen inspired by the plot of this book.

Which Flightstick/Joystick would you recommend?
Scarecrow replied to Ranger79's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have a warthog (2101) and it is the absolute best for A10c although for IL2 I found the centre detent a little to obtrusive and went back to using my G940stick for IL2. Hopefully the Hogstick should last well into the 10year lifespan as it feels incredibly solid. The G940 reversal bug makes the throttle&rudders very imprecise so I would advise against it if precision is what you want, however the stick is pretty good for IL2. The force trimmer on the stick doesn't work well in DCS series as the G940 has an incredibly small throw, the detectable throw is actually only about two thirds of the physical throw, so you have to use a response curve which doesn't follow the trimmed position so once you've trimmed the aircraft you're halfway up the response curve which gives some whacky handling characteritics to the aircraft at max and stall speeds. I don't know about the x52 pro, I've always assumed it was just a shameless rebranding of the original at a higher price tag for those that didn't like the look of the x52. Over all I'd say Warthog all the way and if my warthog was stolen tonight I'd go out and buy a gun tomorrow! -
Logitech g940 price drop and new firmware!!
Scarecrow replied to emenance's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Had one for a year, hated the reversal bug. It's still present in all the pot axes i.e throttle, trims and rudders which makes alot of the BFM's hard to do from muscle memory and requires you to have your eye on the VVI and slipball when you should be looking at or for targets. Force trimming doesn't work well on a small throw stick as fine control is very difficult without a response curve but the response curve in A10 and BS doesn't folllow the trimmed position. I thought it was awful for FC2 and pretty good for IL2. In addition to the problems in the DCS series Oleg Maddox doesn't consider FFB to be of any importance so it seems probable that COD won't have any FFB effects above and beyond what IL2 had. Put all this together and the next ten years of serious combat flightsimming aren't really going to utilise any of the complex and highly detailed FFB effects the G940 is capable of. All the advances in the Logitech camp have come from CharlesB (decent bloke) the community/forum manager who's suffered the continous earbashing and is trying to solve the problems, he's posted stating that the throttle and rudder axes problem will require a different approach to solve than the Hall sensor did and he would be drafting a proposal for continued refinement of the product in 2011. I've got a Warthog now and I'm very pleased with it, also back to using my CH pedals which are a million times better than the G940 pedals. I would never currently recommend the G940 over a CH setup which is in the same price bracket but thats only my opinion. -
Support for Logitech G940?
Scarecrow replied to AntDX316's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You'll have to set your axes in game manually in the controls tab in the options page, also there is a checkbox for FFB in the misc page in options (Beta4). You'll have to set your profile to be persistant in the logiprofiler as it sometimes doesn't catch exe's running and won't apply the appropriate profile. As PeterP said don't bother using the logiprofiler to launch the game it doesn't work;) -

TM Warthog £199 at Amazon UK
Scarecrow replied to happyslayeruk's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Got myself a hogstick before the price went back up :), this is the second time i've seen something like this. The first was RAM from an online pc hardware company, the big one, they tried to give me back my money and cancel the order so I was forced to explain to them that once the money left the bank the deal was done. Good to see Amazon stand behind their mistake.:joystick: -

TB-3 with anti-grav pencil FTW!

If they do release a perfect bug free product by the end of the year it will be very impressive acomplishment. I don't think there would be any complaints if final was pushed back to February to make it perfect out of the box. I think a video diary of the next project after a10 would make a very interesting subject, something like was done for IL2 1946.

I switched it back to semi after and it still crashed for me, seems to be the missile launch in my case.

The Start Up procedure mssion doesn't include the instruction to switch on the radar altimeter on the LASTE panel. The counter measures mission has crashed both times i've tried it at the same point right after the Mig has fired it's missile. Will report back any other issues. PS Training Missions are much better now though:thumbup: Edit: The Maverick training mission, after your first pass with the AGM-65H you're told to make a second pass with the 65H (it should be D the IR variant) DxDiag.txt

I have the flashing corruption on buildings/trees also, they start when scenes and visible range are set to medium everything else at low. On cat10.7's I observed occasional little black squares on the TAD page about the size of the on screen icons but haven't noticed this since upgrading to hotfixed 10.9's DxDiag.txt Flashy.trk
