Now that I've taken the time to read the first post:doh:, I think you're correct.:shocking:

Totally agree, I was wondering is there any FFB dead zone around the stick centre with the venerable FF2, I've got a G940 and I hate the centre slop.

TM WH Flaming cliffs profiles
Scarecrow replied to Taproot's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just made one this afternoon for the Su25T using the method described in that post. Does clickabledata.lua have to do with the sim knowing the initial state of the RL switches because I noticed they don't sync on startup in the 25T? Edit: I notice you don't like target, and whilst I agree in DCS its unnecessary, it is actually very powerful and can do different things for press and release events. -
TM WH Flaming cliffs profiles
Scarecrow replied to Taproot's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just read your thread and whilst it is an ingenious solution to the problem, it is possible and may I say simpler to do in the lua files;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89226 -
That what I'm hoping for:)
-
So it'll be rendered through the new IG but with no changes to the current topography detail? But the new IG will make it prettier?

Watched it loved it. Prometheus was alright aswell but it got well earned criticism in my opinion. I enjoyed Sunshine aswell. Moon is a good space/isolation movie if you haven't seen that. EDIT: Looked like they were flying the ship with a TM WH too, anybody else notice this?

Good stuff, hope you lodged a complaint with Ebay to stop this seller ever selling again:thumbup: -
New G940 owner looking for tips
Scarecrow replied to Rangi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi there, my no.1 top tip is not to use the Logitech profiler but use the DCS controller options to assign buttons to the G940. My second tip is personal preference, I use simFFB in Huey and in Black Shark. You should look it up and consider its benefits compared to how the stick reacts using DCS FFB in light of the G940s' draw backs. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84883 The problem is that any FFB stick used in DCS should have a a linear response curve as any curvature will screw up the Force Trim mechanism, but a linear response curve requires very very steady hands You see there is an area around the G940 stick centre that has zero FFB which makes for very "twitchy" control in this area. Your tiny inadvertent movements in this area are translated into huge stick movements in the sim. My third tip is to look up the "Reversal bug" and then start planning a "Bodnar mod" for the throttle and pedals axes as I am planning to do in a couple of weeks from now:geek: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3323724/G940_MOD_Warning_large_picture.html -
37 year old here. First flight in Top Gun the game on my Spectrum 48K with my cool contoured joystick bolted to the table cos my dad let me use power tools when I was 12:smilewink:

CH Pro Pedals to be RMA'd
Scarecrow replied to romeokilo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Looks like you're going to have to go into them or do as the original seller did :music_whistling: I bet you're not happy, that is low If you go into them remember to watch this and ask here or at CH forum for advice. EDIT: Those videos don't exist lol. -
CH Pro Pedals to be RMA'd
Scarecrow replied to romeokilo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Had exactly the same problem, CH were good about it but the intermittent nature of the problem meant that I had to go into them myself. No wires broken and everything looked fine just as the CH tech had told me:( I noticed that the connections weren't soldered but "sleeves" that you crimped/clamped/squished (don't know the correct term) onto the connectors and one of them was a tiny bit loose. :detective: I squished it with some pliers to make a better connection, put them back together and they have worked flawlessly for the last seven years. :cheer3nc: -
How to set up toggle switches (a tutorial)
Scarecrow replied to Spy Guy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I would love to try this utility  Can't wait for this, this will be a DCS essential. -
This thread will show you the insides of the stick http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84518&highlight=extend+g940 But to be honest i don't know of anyone who has had a faulty IR sensor. First line of inquiry i would advise would be to get a support ticket opened at logitech and hopefully get a replacement stick rather than opening it up and voiding the warranty.

Thanks for the info, total rotor noob here :)

Is this control used during flight? Any pro tips for using this control?
-
Have you covered the "deadmans switch" on the right side of the stick? This is an IR switch that senses when you are holding the stick. It's probable that during the turn your hand is not covering this detector and the stick stops sending forces from the sim and applies the default centering spring, hence the twitch:joystick: Either that or the motors are over heating possibly?
-
Conversely if you don't buy the beta you're guaranteed not to have the sim upon release but at some later date.:hehe:

Engine fire on landing happening quit often now?

That ostrich should be scared, I've been single for a year and a half and I love leggy birds:megalol: -
Congratulations you've taken your first step into a larger world. Now say goodbye to your friends and family, healthy eating, excercise and the sun; you won't be seeing them for a while:lol: Welcome to the mad house :pilotfly:

Is forcefeedback enabled if so disable that and see if that helps.

The difference is caused by the magnetic variance in the region[citation needed], as Boris said once you pick up the ILS glideslope use that for steering cues and forget the HSI. So just use 130 it doesnt make a difference.
-
CH it's cheaper in the long run. Saitek will give good precision for 2 years maybe, CH lasts forever. I like my TM WH but even it's not perfect.

Broadcasting SPI and other targeting woes
Scarecrow replied to 311Gryphon's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Edit: Was your buddy still locked on even though you were off target? -
+1 I'll be kicking in my birthday present money, F-35 at the highest possible detail available to civilian flyers sounds like a good investment. On a side note I think that DCS World is going to be the backbone of a revival in the flight sim genre.
