  1. I got P51 for the 9.99 and I feel bad about it now:cry: I promise that next payday I will buy Huey full price to balance out the Karma. I'd hate to be the poor sod that got the pricing wrong:doh:
  2. Yes thrustmaster did just release the stick on its own, good advice. Bmon40 how much does the 3rd Century Roman commanders helmet work with immersion? Is this in common use amongst Canandian pilots IRL?:smilewink:
  3. I assume it was your insider info that led to this change? Love the incredible detail in this sim still being added two years after release and the new colour is quite fetching especially in night time missions.
  4. Thanks ED for the weekly updates, it's nice to have something to look forward to. Keep up the good work and say no to drugs:thumbup:
  5. After thinking about this update for a couple hours these modules make perfect sense. The bottom line is they will be the most advanced simulation of these aircraft available on the PC, if you like these aircraft you'll want this upgrade. Its not the hyper realism that so many crave but its an improvement on what we have.
  6. Was kinda shocked that F15/Su27 wont be A10c fidelity but at least Hornet will be so that'll do. I personally would have built up the historical stable more in a bid to corner the hi-fi WWII market. The lo-fi stuff doesn't rev my engine:music_whistling:
  7. Agreed the "in App purchase" model wouldn't work in multiplayer and by dumbing down systems it would be more work after making them. It's a horrible model for DCS :no_sad:. £59.99 wouldn't bother me if I get to own an F15c, it'll probably take me a year to learn and a lifetime to master or probably not master:smilewink:
  8. Well we'll see what F15c and Su27 cost and to be honest I'm expecting a higher price tag. I think once those are out A10c should be the free aircraft in DCS to bring 'em and get them hooked:D Or give the 25T a 3d pit, as it stands the 25T doesn't really show how amazing DCS World is imho. That's if they're going to continue with the one free map and aircraft approach.
  9. It certainly is interesting and the decisions ED have made about diversification are very clever in maintaining a steady reliable income from modules that can be produced quicker.
  10. Don't worry like I say I'll pay whatever they charge it. Just hope they sieze on the WWII theatre idea and populate the map and the skies for a real feel. If they do that the WWII market is theirs. I'll still buy BOS but I'm rooting for ED:)
  11. Well that's good bang for your buck right there. Just goes to show how commited the team are to making the modern computer age aircraft when it must take long time to make ROI.
  12. Poor Oleg Maddox that was his dream
  13. If FastMover were to come out next week I'd say that quite rightly in order to indicate the complexity of the simulation 80 or 90 wouldn't be asking to much. I just wonder what it will be when that day comes.
  14. I knew the EDGE maps were gonna cost, the only thing that puzzles me is the historical map. I think to create an immersive 40's era environment we need a few NPC aircraft variants, which will cost, otherwise the map will still be pretty sterile.
  15. It's an interesting question to ponder which way will they go with FastMover, sell it low to establish the brand or sell it as a Premium product to reflect the higher cost of production.
  16. I agree but I'd say 60 USD for A10C is a bit low it had to be at least 3 times the work of P51? My point is not that things are over priced but that previous products have been underpriced so as to be accessible.
  17. First off every DCS product is worth every penny but recent releases and price changes got me thinking about price structure and future releases. DCS A10c was my first purchase and the entertainment it has provided has well exceeded what I originally paid for it. A few weeks ago I bought P51 when it was on sale for silly money because for me P51 is not going to give as much entertainment as A10c does. Now like I said P51 is worth every penny at RRP but owning A10c has left me with a sense of entitlement about what I get for my money. My thoughts are; will FastMover be the same price as P51 and Huey? FastMover will be more complex to R&D so a higher price would be fair to pay, but at what price does it become prohibitive for bringing new players into the sim? I don't think the EDGE maps should be free, they cost money to make but again at what point does the pricing become prohibitive? I think what ED are doing is amazing and I'm happy to pay fair price for it but I just wonder if BS2 and A10c have given the community inflated expectations. Would love to hear others ideas on the subject.
  18. I run A10 dual screen but Su25T & P51 single screen, so they run at different resolutions, I unplug the second moniter to reduce the load on my VGA when playing P51. I also play P51 with high scenes, trees and clutter full up since there is no view port objects in P51 and I only time trial in the Stang so no battle physics to eat CPU power. I imagine CA could also be run at higher settings than A10, FC3 or BS2 as your not speeding around the map and the physics load would be lower. Just hoping this could be done if it were at all possible, no biggy:)
  19. I was just thinking about the answer to this just five minutes ago. Huey is an official Bell product, belsimtek have access to Bell data and I'm hoping we see more Bell products coming soon. So why release the one with the weakest armament first? Who's gonna buy it if you release it 2nd?:smilewink:
  20. Ahaha i realised I'd reduced take off assistance in the special options to 0%. When I put it back up to 100% its fine, I only discovered that setting last night and forgot I changed it:music_whistling:. Here I was thinking I'd mastered take off's weeks ago  P.S Thanks for the reply guys I'll have a look a these vids a few times
  21. Had P51 for a month now and only flew Shadohs Batumi TT up till now, fine weather for flying. Obviously the savage cross winds in the quick mission came as a shock:huh: I managed to get her off the ground and back down again after several attempts but it was as far from safe and controlled as you can be:). So my question here is whats going on with the wind and how is take off and landing done well in these situations?
  22. Would this be possible to implement? It would be nice not to have to go into the options and tweak graphics settings for each module every time.
  23. Thank you, this one had me scratching my head also. Why the change though?
  24. So excited by the announcement, I love WWII aircraft and onwards, sorry ROF:cry:. ED is the future of the genre:pilotfly:
  25. I'd have one for sure, you could have a real business here. I hope it takes off in a big way for everybody's sake
