Supposed to be a horrible weekend here coming up, nothing but rain, so 2.9 with some F-15E JDAMS would be lovely. And thank you in advance.

No big fan of the Tomcat, but I bought it because HB made it so gorgeous. No big fan of the Viggen but I bought it because HB made it so gorgeous. No big fan of the Phantom but I'll probably buy it because... you guessed it, HB is going to make it freakin' gorgeous. I'm a sucker for top shelf flightsim tech. I gotta have my eye candy.

A Black Lab on a cushion in the Mosquito where the copilot's seat is. The ability to watch Star Trek on an MFD while flying The sim to show a digital version of your life flashing before you eyes as you lawn dart in a screaming fiery ball of flames.
-
Looking forward to it coming out on a trial basis. Was never a fan of Mirages, but this looks like a solid module and they really seem to be giving people their money's worth.

Real rain. Excellent graphics and the audio is top shelf. Great flying weather.

Oh yeah, patience. We're known for that. At least we get to blow **** up in the meantime.

McBummer! It's going to rain all weekend.

Dual factor authentication for free trials?
Beirut replied to Beirut's topic in Forum and Site Issues
Thank you again for the help. I do enjoy the free trials. I'll be in the Miig-19 tonight. Another three-weeks before I can try the trainers again, those are the one I'm really waiting for. -
I'm just going to sit back and watch the B-52s and B-1Bs take off and land. Definitely better than what's on TV these days.

Dual factor authentication for free trials?

@MAXsenna I followed Dangerzone's plan and got the 2FA through my PC. No phone involved. Burned a few brain cells trying to understand it, but it worked. So thanks to Dangerzone for the info, and to you for being such a bother and pointing me in the right direction. -
Damn straight you wouldn't. Now I feel better. Thanks. Damn it, now I have to go back and read about that. I'm sure you're right that they all bind, but I thought we could pick which modules got installed.
-
And thus my final phrase: "But that's just a fun thing for me personally." It doesn't have to make sense. It's mine and I paid for it.
-
Are you questioning my right to be old, crotchety, and set in my ways? I thought we were friends. I just don't like having my phone as part of the process. I might reconsider, I might not. Definitely staying with Steam, but I liked the "open architecture" of being able to bind the accounts if I decided that was something I wanted to do. As I said, I was thinking of binding the Strike Eagle to my stand alone just for the sake of having only one plane in that version of the sim and focusing on the systems a bit more. But that's just a fun thing for me personally.
-
That was me. Poor choice of words on my part. I meant cheating as in getting stuff for free when you should be paying for it. Not cheating in MP.
-
I'll keep my stand alone even though I won't do free trials anymore. And I'll stay on Steam simply because I'm used to it and it works and that suits my little brain. I've got the Su-25T on stand alone, and that a pretty cool plane.
-
I'm not convinced of that. For my part, I was considering binding one plane at a time to my stand alone account that I (used to) use for free trials. Just for the sake of firing up the sim and having just one plane there and focusing on it and really learning the systems. Not a big deal if I can't, but a shame anyway.
-
Just a shame that we get the 2 factor ID for free trials and now this. I understand the cheaters shouldn't get a free pass, but it's too bad it's those us us with solid investments who have to deal with the limitations and increased hoop jumping.
-
Days, months, years? I don't mean to be a pest, but some of us have a sizeable investment in DCS modules and hardware and just don't want any weird surprises.
-
Is there a limit on the bind/unbind thing, like the way some games limit installs? I have no plans to bind my account, I'm just curious if there is a self-destruct feature built it where after three or four bind/unbinds your account ends up in North Korea never to be seen again.
-
That was my concern. Some developers have dropped Steam in favour of their own services. Thank you.
-
How much confidence should we have that our Steam accounts will still work at all in a year? Will there be a notice that all accounts must be changed to stand alone? Will all new modules be available on Steam in the future? I load up my Steam wallet over the summer during the heavy work season so I can buy modules during the winter without hitting the credit card. I don't want to have a couple of hundred bucks siting on Steam for nothing.

Better than the last couple of Hollyweird movies.

On the plus side, DCS is highly representative of non-human, non-living, pilots with no brains, internal organs, or genitalia, who are fabricated with code and pixels and who have no family or names. Also, due to screen sizes, these pilots are only several inches tall. DCS champions the rights of this oppressed class of people. I, for one, applaud ED for being so inclusive. For less than a dollar a day, you too can feed a never-gonna-be-hungry-'cause-it-ain't-real DCS pilot. Won't you help?
