  1. Not to be a stick in the mud, but the comparison videos I watch show just incremental increases when upping the CPU. For instance, in the civvy sim, my 3700X has a 1% low of 72 and the 5800X3D is at 78 at 1080p. That's basically nothing for the outlay of a good chunk of change. Even against a 5950X, the 3700X looks way to close to justify the expense of the upgrade. So where is the actual CPU sweet spot in DCS? Isn't 90% of the beef in the GPU?
  2. Money doesn't grow on trees, but the upgrade cost is very reasonable. If we're talking about $10, more or less, that's as little as anything will ever cost in DCS. if you buy a module on sale and then pay a small upgrade cost, it's a fair deal. Not cheap maybe, but certainly fair.
  3. Ya gotta admit, the 14 day free trials is just the cat's ass of flightsim goodness. I think it shows solid respect for the customer.
  4. When it becomes available, yes. And if it's available right away I will certainty try it with an open mind. I swear I might just get it because you guys have a good friendly style about you. It's pleasant change from the occasional snootiness with some other devs.
  5. The fun of flying is where you find it. The F4 doesn't do anything for me. But that's just me. The F-15E will be a pleasure though. We all find love in different places. But the BS3 is definitely a hot ticket item for me.
  6. I think the sound is okay, though I understand others don't. But the gun sound, my god... it's terrible. Sounds like a cat speed farting.
  7. @MAESTR0 The map looks delicious. But do you have any comment on RAM usage for all that eye candy?
  8. Be great if the clouds hide you from flak. You can circle around in your warbird, wait for the clouds to cover the target, and then swoop in. Sounds like fun.
  9. Except for the F-15E, the BS3 is top of my list. Really looking forward to seeing what they've done with it.
  10. I'm all about the maps, baby. And that looks great!
  11. I saw some videos but I want a really detailed look at it.
  12. Q4 2024 it is then. Would like to have this plane. It was my go-to fighter in... the first iteration of the other sim.
  13. If it's tomorrow I'll be a happy camper. I want to see those clouds rolling over the mountains in the SA map. And to see some good review videos of the 339. 60US is about 80Cdn. Not free, that's for sure. I really want to see some good videos of the cockpit. If it's excellent I'll consider buying it. But it will have to be excellent.
  14. Ooooohhh, that would be nice. Can't wait for the new weather effects. Still very curious about the pricing of the MB-339. I can't see they would price it as a top tier module like the Hornet or Tomcat.
  15. It's nice to have a connection with a plane. Makes it all the more enjoyable. I guess we'll find out tomorrow how much it costs.
  16. Another couple of if it's the usual. Three tops.
  17. True dat! And I do enjoy the F-5. I have the 339 in the civvy sim, and I like it, but for some reason I have no interest in learning any systems in that sim. I just yutz around and look at the pretty scenery. In DCS I learn the plane, at least enough of it to enjoy the challenge but not so much as to break my very small brain. Also, someone mentioned that the FM for the 339 will probably be much better in DCS than the civvy sim. I can believe that.
  18. I enjoy your enthusiasm. I'm looking forward to feedback on the plane and seeing if it's worth diving into. I'm kinda 50/50. Maybe a bit more to getting it than not getting it. But I need to hear some good feedback.
  19. I'm still torn on this plane. I'm sure it will be well done and the devs seem like good guys... but do I want to put in the brain cells to learn a plane that I'm not all hot and sweaty for? With the Mirage it was a clear no, with the F-15E it's a clear yes. This, maybe the price will dictate the result. My guess is it will be around $80Cd (about $60US). Do you drop $80 just to show support? Or there's the chance the plane will have a touch of that magic and it becomes a favourite. Not easy being a flightsimhead. And Simon & Garfunkle songs are best sung by Simon & Garfunkle. It's not Dylan and All Along the Watchtower.
  20. I Simon & Garfunkle. Someone posted that the MB-339 is in the Steam database ready to go. Maybe Friday it's out.
  21. I saw that GR video and the mod looks great. And I'm a big fan of the Grim reapers, I just wish they would get back to tutorials.
  22. I bought Normandy 1 and I don't feel Normandy 2 is unfair. The announcement of Normandy 2 was obviously kerfuddled, that much is clear. And the diagram of the map with boxes on boxes in boxes was just silly from a marketing standpoint. Might as well try and sell me a car by showing me a schematic of the steering wheel. But as London and Paris are included in the new map, as well as the lovely discount I am going to receive, I can't complain about the end result. I will get a very good looking and enjoyable map for $10. That works for me. Then be there if that makes you happy. You have freedom of choice. Fly however and wherever it makes you happy.
  23. Maybe the flight was aborted? And I'll just walk away slowly now......
  24. Really happy to see the dynamic weather kick in. DCS clouds are the best I've seen and I'm looking forward to more great atmospherics as much as a new plane.
