  1. I have seen some other posts by Coff who thinks that it could be something to do with NAT and port switching. Port forwarding can assist with this but ultimately cannot rectify it unless the server is in a DMZ, his advice. LYNX is not in a DMZ and, to be frank, dont like the idea of it being in one, but for the sake of narrowing down this bloody awful sim wrecking experience for everyone, I will be putting LYNX in a DMZ later on and hope this provides us some stability. ED will fix it, I'm sure. 'T'
  2. No you have done everything ok. Seems broken again. 'T'
  3. Yes. That is correct. Bottom line? A mission created on your machine will adopt your settings as mentioned. A mission downloaded, once opened in your ME can then be changed in the mission options, and when re-saved will guess what?......................that's right, adopt your settings. 'T'
  4. Well the testing i have done so far in 7570 does indeed address the AI shutdown bug. Thanks Testers. 'T'
  5. Rgr, on it. Thanks.
  6. At the risk of compromising my integrity here (unquestionable i assure you) i would like to report that i managed to connect to LYNX after well over 20 attempts, not 5 minutes ago. The solution? I re-started our server (not the same machine as i fly on - LYNX is a dedicated box on its own 120/30 Virgin Fibre line) Tried to connect and voila. So, definitely something to do with server side running affecting clinetside stability. We 'all' need to try a finetune this finding further to better inform ED. That aside, i`m sure they're looking at it anyway. Regards 'T'
  7. Rik, i can make you one if you wish, but it would be no different than if you quickly make one yourself. at least then you get it first hand. 'T'
  8. Oh dear oh dear............................................................. Singleplayer is fine for me. This however, is what i get everytime when trying to connect MP. please address. ta 'T'
  9. and...............................a complete re-write of the DCS World code. No. It'll never happen. Nice to have, but then again so would 1 million dollars.:music_whistling:
  10. On behalf of all at the 74th and those that frequent our Server - LYNX, thanks for the update and the issues you've addressed. 'T'
  11. Incorrect. It was the 37 Country NATO coalition that bought the Mi-17's and Mi-24's for the AAF not the Pentagon. The funding came from the NTF - NATO Trust Fund of which the 'major' contributor is indeed the US, but certainly not the sole. Currently totaling at a little over 5000 in the AAF (Which comes under the ANA a little like an Air Corps than an Air Force - Name is being changed), there is more of a persuasion to look toward LAP's now rather than exclusivly rotary. The Mi's were brought from Czeckslovakia not Russia and were immediatly grounded upon arrival in theatre as their 'air worthyness' state did not meet western standards. Apart from a few (classified) Mi-24's and Mi-17's, the whole fleet is currently grounded. The general feeling is that we'll see C-130J's flying around before we see the complete Rotary Wing up n running. There are also other factors that hinder the readyness of the Mi Fleet, namely language being the main - The prospected pilot in training needs to be able to speak 4 languages - Dari, Pashtun, English and Russian. With an illiterate stat of 90% of the country, you can see that getting the right quality for Westernised styles of training is an uphill challenge and one that will become easier over time. 'T'
  12. Has anyone benchmarked thoroughly Win 7 64 Ultimate and then Win 8 Pro? Now thats gotta be worth a look. I'm teetering on the brink of a plunge! 'T'
  13. Could you post your findings Mustang after a system comparison / benchmark? Thanks 'T'
  14. Do we really need this Chris if i keep Win 7 uptodate?
  15. Gr8 stuff. The community goes from strength to Strength. Nice one Hijack and Good luck with the 138th! 'T'
  16. Hmm.......to be honest...why re-invent the wheel? The mission Designer can 'decide' which aircraft is to be used or as is the case with some of my missions on LYNX, what aircraft is 'available'. All done from the mission editor. Clientside, you log in, READ the brief, UNDERSTAND what is required from you and then CHOOSE your aircraft. Multiple aircraft available made possible in the Mission design. If you are more akin to the Clinet being able to choose its aircraft, clientside, and seperate from the missions integral design by the designer, particualry with what aircraft is available, well.......to be frank.............i dont see the point at all. 'T'
  17. Hi Nybble. Just make sure that when you set your options in DCS World that you tick the box - use the options in all missions. That way any mission your create will enforce those conditions as per the mission editor. No need to start rewriting scripts or delving into the bowels of the File structure. Try it. Regards 'T'

Well done ole boy. 22 again! ;-)
  19. No...............well it probably is, but why mess around with it? Just set options for the server for immortal and ensure 'use these settings for all missions' box is ticked. That'll do it. 'T'
  20. To add, Also eliminate certain conditions in missions that you 'know' will instigate a crash on the server or on some clients as a CTD. An example of this is AI Aircraft (not Heli's) landing and shutting down. More often than not will instigate the CTD for clients or the infamous kernal32.dll and ntdll.dll error as per crash log. Good luck 'T' copied and pasted from error log: C:\Windows\system32\kernel32.dll BaseThreadInitThunk()+D 773FC521 0019FED0 0001:0002B521 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll RtlUserThreadStart()+21
  21. Hi, Well, for a start you can help yourself by ensuring that the Aggressor groups are set to 'Late Activation'; they are called upon a condition being met - ie when part of the coalition is in Zone 'Cap'. The flag settings then dicate the time span for the remaining spawning Red's. Again, they are not set to 'Late Activation'. Do i think that the reason for your crash every time is due to this? no. I don't. But the point im making to you is that with a product (as glorious as it is) such as DCS World and all of it's modules that are still essentially in Beta (all be them publicly released), you 'have' to eliminate everything from a mission design as a possibility of instigating a crash. Try making the mission again. Start with just your F-15's and taxi together. That ok? Now add the next phase and re-run. That ok? and so on and so on. With your mission, it shouldn't take that long. Regards 'T' PS: Welcome to the long drawn out and rarely thanked task of creating stable missions. ;-)
  22. To add. Drag and drop the sound files in audacity. Match their end and start points. Add white noise before and after. High band pass level filter. Highlight it all. Save as .ogg. Job done.
  23. Sound to all is just as good. Particularly if mixed in with a message to all too. audacity is a good program to use and with a little high band filter pass and some white noise, eh voila! Instant radio tone for the message. I used this method a lot for the op hammer online campaign. For those of you that flew it you will remember them well. Regards. 'T'
  24. Hell, give me your address or a PO Box, I'll buy and send you one!
  25. fair point.
