I am doing Mission 5 in Crisis in the Persian Gulf for the Hornet. Bombing Khasab airfield. I cannot get my wingmen to attack the targets. I have used all the commands Mission and rejoin, mission and RTB, Ground Targets, Cover Me Nothing seems to get them to attack the primary targets. How do I get them to attack? Thank you.

Hi thank you for your reply. Ok when I take off my flaps are down. As soon as I clear the ship I raise the flaps and gear. and my wings are set to auto on T/O. When I land the wings are in auto mode flaps are down gear down. I land on the ship I raise the hook. raise the flaps and pull the wing sweep leaver back. But the wings don't move. So am I doing something wrong there?

Hi Cef there seems to be a problem with the F-14 before the start of a mission. The tomcats damage each other on the deck before you even get into the cockpit. you have to restart the mission a couple of times to get so that they do not damage each other.

Hi just want to report a bug with the F-14 crisis in the Persian Gulf campaign if no one has already reported it. At the start of the campaign even before you get into the cockpit the planes are so close together that they damage each other before the campaign even starts. Sometimes you have to restart the campaign 3 or 4 times to get it so that they do not damage each other.

Can someone please explain what IC friendly means? I am still trying to learn all the jargon associated with DCS.

The first mission bat does display the correct path. This is very strange. The firstmission.bat displays the correct path. this is really strange.

Sorry for the confusion I should have stuck with one campaign. We should try and fix one problem before solving the next. Anyways I uninstalled everything then with the installer I reinstalled crisis over the Persian gulf for the Hornet. As soon as the installation was complete I ran firstmission.bat. Then I ran the campaign. Still got the error and the log error states it is still looking in f. Now I am not sure what you mean that the installer does not work at the end of a mission. It looks like the paths are all correct in the path.bat. The falcon campaign for crisis works perfectly. I am baffled. Is anyone else having these problems or am I the only one. dcs.log path.bat FirstMission.bat

I am trying to see which campaigns work. The crisis ones still point f. I will resend those. Everytime I install I always do the first mission bat. Even after every campaign I click on first mission bat. I will uninstall everything and try again. Once I do if the problem persists I will send you the logs and batch files.

Yes I did. It is a great idea The installer. Yes I did. Love the installer simple easy to use. Only if we can get the campaigns to run. The crisis campaign for the f-16 works, Only the F-14 and F18 doesn't work.

I deleted the DCE and just installed the F-16. If you look at the log for when I play the falcon (attached) all paths point to C. But in the Hornet and Tom Cat they point to F. I think this maybe a bug in the campaign. I don't think it is something at my end. It doesn't make sense that the falcon would work but the other 2 don't. I will try installing another DCE campaign not the crisis one see if that works. dcs.log Installed hornet over Persian gulf. The error message came up. But when I checked the log all paths pointed to c . The error message was "ERROR VFS: VFS_open_write: CreateFile(C:\Users\Orest PC\C:\Users\Orest PC\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech\DCE\Missions\Campaigns\Hornet over PG - SuperCarrier\MissionEventsLog.lua): The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." I looked everywhere could not find missioneventslog.lua. No idea what is going on.

Thank you. I installed the first campaign for the f-16. Worked perfectly. I didn't test it extensively just started the campaign and exited. The error message did not pop up. A text file with a summary of the mission did pop up as it is supposed to. I then installed the F-14 Tom Cat and the F-18 Hornet But for those 2 campaigns the error message popped up and the summary text file did not. I checked the path.bat for all three they looked identical. I have no idea why it is working for one and not the other 2. I have attached the log file and the path bat for all 3 campaigns. The first one is the f-16 which is working. The next one is the f-14 and the f-18 which are not working.. dcs.log path.bat path.bat path.bat

I have 3 dynamic campaigns and all three have the same problem. All three are crisis in the Persian Gulf for the F-14, F-16, and F-18. I have attached the log. I will supply the path.bat for one of the campaigns. I don't know maybe it is something I did incorrectly maybe you can see it. Thank you. dcs.log path.bat

Hi thanks for your reply. Yes all the directory names have \" at the end. Now I went into the log file to look for the error message and see if it could give me an indication of what is going on. I found the error message and for some reason it is looking for the saved games directory in f: I don't have an f: directory and I did changed the path.bat to c the funny thing is that the original path.bat pointed to f. I don't know if that is a coincidence or something else.

getting this error message. Getting this scripting error>[string c:\users\my name\appData\local\temp\DCS.OpenBeta (a nil value) stack trace back c:? { [string c:\users\my name\appData\local\temp\DCS,OpenBeta V~mis00003559.lua]239: in function on event [string scripts/world/eventHandlers.lua) 13: in function<string "scripts/world/eventhandlers.lua"]:11> i have rechecked and rechecked the path bat everything looks good. The thing with this message is when you hit enter it disappears and you get into the main menu where you can end the mission. The only thing is it does not record my kills. I shot down 2 aircraft and it had my air to air kills at 0. Anyone have a clue how to fix this.

You have to use Lshift U or bind one of your hotas controls to the catapult shoot function. Those are the only 2 ways you get launcehed ina F-14

Hi it is a great campaign. I watched the video and I tried doing it that way in the planner but I never got on target. I was supposed to bomb a warehouse and instead bombed a apartment building. i tried it in the MGRS also and didn't even come close. And I know it is not the fault of the game. I just don't know what I am doing. Not enough experience I guess. In lat long coordinates all those extra digitsin he the seconds confuse me. Now I went to Gi surfer where they have the MGRS system I was able to do it there but when I transferred over to the mission planner I got all confused. In the LAT Long system My problem is I find the LAT coordinates but then when moving to the long coordinates I get lost. I guess I have to practice.

I purchased it and being a newbie I struggled with it at the beginning especially the mission planner. But once you get a system going it is a real fun campaign. For newbies who are having trouble with mission planner you can do what I did. I only use the mission planner to set up the payloads. I gave up setting up the way points and trying to find specific targets on the planner map. Once I set up the payloads I jump into the cockpit assign the tasks to my wingmen enter the mission codes and then go to the F-10 map pick a targets marked in red. get their coordinates from the f-10 map and set up my waypoints in the onboard computer. the coordinates we get at the end of each mission make no sense to me. First they are not in the correct format for the f-18. Second you are given no elevation that I could see and after trying to estimate the location of the target in the mission planner and bombing civilian apartment buildings I gave up on the mission planner. Honestly I cannot believe in reality that pilots would have to go through this kind of work to set up their targets. The chance of mistake and collateral damage is to great. I am sure they receive exact coordinates and elevation of their targets in the correct format. In my opinion I think it would really improve the gameplay if we did not have to spend a lot of time in the mission planner trying to estimate where the target is. If you are an expert and and know how latitudes and longitudes work it probably is a breeze but for us newbie it is pretty cumbersome and quite inaccurate and chance mistake is quite great. But once I got all this figured out the campaign is excellent a lot of fun to play. Probably the best I have ever played. This is my opinion.

I tried the MGRS coordinates they make no sense at all. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Just a suggestion for us newbies it would probably help if the target was marked on the f10 map. We can find our own coordinates and head right for the target. This way we have no idea where we are going. Trying to find the coordinates on the map as the video shows is very time consuming and awkward if you are not that familiar with longitude and latitudes. I notice there is a JTAC option in the F10 menu. I will try the JTAC and see if the coordinates he gives me will take me to the target. -
Operation Pontus: general information

Ok I have a question. Doing mission 3. I am to destroy a munitions warehouse belonging to a gun runner. Now the coordinates I am given at the end of mission 2 I don't think are the coordinates of the warehouse. The buildings I bombed look like appt. buildings. I maybe in putting the coordinates incorrectly. coordinates are 42 23 33.55783 N 42 21 15.75781 E. Now I take it that those are in the F-18 format. So in my flight computer I input 42 23 33.55 N 42 21 15.75 E Is that correct. Also when I input the MGRS They do not match those coordinates ? Also why are we not given the elevation of the target? I input 0 not sure if that is correct. Please remember I am a Newbie.Thank you.
