  1. This pic is the grid I made from plastic J bead to suport the led backlighting. The center run is Blue, the 2 outer runs are supper bright white leds. I mount them about 2" behind the panels. The panel lit up but it was sunny at the time
  2. Hello all. I would like to start a thread on my KA-50-Black Shark Pit. This is my first Pit and I think that my expectations have been more than met with my new toy. When I started checking home pit builds in this forum, I was indeed amazed at what was posible. This pit is a result of this forum and all the info it provides. Thanks everyone. Start date; Dec. 28 2011 Estimate; 1-2 years. But at the time, I certinatly was't going to build an entire cock-pit.This atitude changed as the build progressed. So about 2.4 years later were here. I think 6 more months, and it will be close. A week ago started finishing off the right center panel. This was the last pannel to make. All panels are made but some parts still missing. I have to be carefull of that finished word. So heres the pics.
  3. Sorry, the top of the slew button I made, the part you can see. It is conected to a Sparkfun 5 way miniswitch. Works but I want better. Got some Hats from Splash one bandit, He has a web site, that worked very wll.I used them on my collective. Problem is they will need to be modifyed and right now I must finish my pit ,then this will be done. I should add the 5 way switch is working and doing its job, its just not the same as a real hat switch Mark.
  4. Good to here your getting there. Ask Questions I wil try to answer,to prevent struggle. Mark.
  5. Im using Brydlings interface board that you can get in the for sale section of this forum. I would recomend them for pit building. The weapons trigger was bent around a 2" pipe to create the curve. Mark.
  6. Wow ! Very impressive Simulatoregp. I've not seen anyone do the outside skin on a Black Shark Pit yet.Keep sending pics and thanks for showing. Mark.
  7. Hi LVNona Try disabling Areos in game option menu .
  8. Here is a pic showing the lettering on top of the cyclic. Hand painted with a tooth pic.http://s23.postimg.org/obmlawccb/my_pit_feb_20_2014_001.jpg
  9. Clyber , good luck with your project. The tools needed, not very many . drill, files, sand paper ... about it. oh yes a hack saw. you will also need a vice , for the trigger .witch you need for the cyclic. Look forward to see Pics. Note: had a time posting pics. Could not post like before. Example above. one "last one" of the pics had to be cut in half. You can see 1/2 " in pic. Its should be 8 1/2" for total hight of cyclic. If you look at the above pic. From the top rear "left side" to the bottom connector "right side" is 8 1/2" . This should give a good idea of scale. Simulatorregp Thanks. IF I understand you. Yes she is built, By me,and I am useing it in my pit. The hand brake is still not done, But I have a reed switch that I intend to install one day.I have finished puting the lettering on top. I did it by hand with a toothpic. Very tedeous, but it worked. I will put up a pic soon. Mark.
  10. I have added some dinensions in this thread for cyclic.http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2002947&postcount=32 Its my last post ,Mark
  11. http://s28.postimg.org/50jercp71/my_cyclic_dimensions_saved_as_Copy.png http://s24.postimg.org/6zg9p66tx/cyclic_dimensions_top_rear.png Here are some dimensions for the top of the cyclic. Note; The front and rear faces are parallel to each other with a 2 5/8" space between them . The top alone, was made and then attached with glue to the top of the stick. It is basicaly square , but its mounted tipped fwd. down and twissted to the right. All of the transisioning is part of the stick top and epoxy. Mark Heres one more http://s29.postimg.org/st0zrm847/image3085.png
  12. Here is a link for the photos. http://englishrussia.com/2011/06/23/the-flight-training-centre-in-torzhok/
  13. Very impressive. Is that a real ejection seat? May we know how long it took? And your blog, Your a Fight instructor at a KA-50 training school with a KA-50 helicopter ? in Itally? WoW! Mark.
  14. There are no dimensions , anywhere That I could find. There are some pics of a real cyclic in a posting in this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99274 I will try to find the exact link to the pics latter . They are pritty much all I had to use . And I used a lot of guesstemation. The trigger assembly was made first. The front face dimension, of the cyclic top, is the same as the trigger mount base plus 1/8". The width of the hump on top is the same as the trigger base width . With this I estimated the front face shape. Then the depth and so on. The rear face had to be big enough to hold all the switches and hat that mount on it. The grip is a copie of my hand. I traced my hand with a sharpie while holding a large 4"x4"x12" piece of styro. I will measure my cyclic the best I can and post latter Mark.
  15. Hello Clyber. Yes, correct. The "Finished" trigger is put together with rivetts. It was modify 5 or 6 times and I got tirred of cutting new ones, so the offset was a result of using rivetts to save time. After seeing the fit I realized It needed to be in the design. The above trigger is Version 2 With changes to the design. I hope Improvments, but will have to wait untill its finished. The original is holding out fine, and due to not having enuff time in a day to work on my pit , this project is in slow mode. Good news is the pit is looking good, and I will finish it one day. Good to see your enthusium in the KA-50 Mark.
  16. I used the slide on my X-52 pro throttle for years. worked very well. Now ,as of 2 months,I am useing my home built collective with the only atteration to a real collevtive being the addition on a slide pot for zoom view.I gess I got used to it . Good luck Mark.
  17. Problem solved. I forgot to"Fill the screens" in helios. Ten days to figure out. All is good again. Thanks Mark.
  18. Hello. I am having a problem running E.M.C. with BS2 and Helios. When I start BS The Shkval,Ekran and Abris are not displayed on their monitors. If I turn off helios then they work. This is the case for all the prolifes that I make . I have 1 old profile [ made before EMC installed] that works. I did have to reset the monitors first, to suite the new resolution that I am now trying to use. What Im trying to do ; Was running BS2 with Helios , But no Ekran . I manually edited the Lua. files. Worked fine. Now replaced 12" monitor with 17" monitor to proved room for the ekran. Reason why old profile is no good. Only 2 of 4 inputs are showing in Helios profile editor. In the add interface list they are not present. Any help would be very nice Thanks Mark.
  19. Hello. Been trying to download Softth but cant find a link that works for Softh V.2.08 64 bit. I was able to get 2.06.64 bit, I want to use it with DCSW BS2, and am under the impresion that it must be the 64 bit version.Thank you for any help. Mark.
  20. RE 3 monitors . Sorry for poor info. In my case I was not able to do what you are thinking. I think you can run up to 6 monitors with Nvidia surround But Not in Sli. When you select Sli, IT only allows 1 port to be activated in Sli mode . I have 6 ports on 3 cards, I select sli ,5 ports are grayed out and not avalible for use. In my case, I was runnig 3 monitors on a single GTX9800+ using a Matrox tripple Head to go. A new PC later I found out Nvidia suround requiers 2 or more almost Identical monitors to work. My 2, 22" 1680x 1024 acers monitors were not identical enough to single 22" 1680x1024 hp monitor. So rather then get 3 new monitors I continued using my matrox. So with Matrox you can run 3 monitors in sli.I later found out that Nvidia surround requiers that Vsync is identical. Its been well over a year since I used Sli because I like to have my Black Shark pit opperating With 3 more monitors, 6 total. When I used Sli There was an obvious improvement in graphic quality, stuters grately reduced and visuals like the way leafs shimmer when moving from the wind or blade downwash. Matrox now supports the use of 2 devices at the same time. Maybe you could plug a matrox into a matrox for 5 monitors in Sli ? PLEASE realize that in Sli mode total resolution is 3840x1024, and when using pit about 7200x 1024 . This in its self has an effect so i am reluctant to boast about it without testing. If I could use my pit with Sli enabled I would. GregP is right that E.D. says its not suported. PS. Matrox limits max frame to 60fps Mark
  21. Nice setup Snacko. Good to see KA-50 intrests alive and well. Re; SLI . Sli only suports one view. Can be multiple monitors but your 4th monitor {gages} won't be suported. Mark
  22. Some monitors use/ need 2 dvi connections to work.High resolution and 3d. If you are using 1080p or less one connection will work and you can use the other connection for a second monitor. So basiclly the type of monitor dictates what you use. Mark.
  23. hello SD . IN the pic ,it appears that your monitors are butted togeather. If you overlap the monitors bezels [place center monitor in front of or behind of the 2 side monitors ] you can reduce bezel width by half. The screens will seam to be flat when viewing. PS. their should be a law limitting bezels width on all monitors. Mark.
  24. DCS Mi-8 Please And a Merry Christmas to all
  25. http://I was face with your delema, my solution was to build my own. Here it is. The eng. controls are not working yet [not wired] but the colective is fully working with a little detail to come. I copied the original with 2 exceptions. I added a slide switch to the bottom of the colective box for zoom view and I made it to fold up ,out of the way to make entering and exiting the pit easier. you can see the holding clamp above the colective.
