Very first one I tried was 'Stealth Mission' by Sublogic on my C-64 Couldn't make heads or tails of it. Next was Gunship and the rest is history.

ran the repair utility, the MP screens now work, but I found this as well I guess I'll have to DL a clean install
-
So I DL'd the upgrade from the auto updater and I've found that both the MP front end and objects in the game are missing textures. So far I've noticed the E-3, not sure what else is missing. 1.2.2 was working fine

FYI if you set the monitor options to 3 screens the game is rendering 3 seperate view ports that will tank fps. Setup for your combined resolution (5760x1080 or whatever) and 1 screen. The game will then treat your monitors as a single large screen and your performance will be better.

Saitek X65F/SST Software Issues
DayGlow replied to Sven2157's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
No worries. Strange they have different drivers for the combat pedals as they are still a 3 axis device. Other than construction do they bring any special functions to the table? I understand the reluctance to play with the registry, but it's easily reversible and it does really bring the function of the mini stick to a new level. -

Also since you have rudder pedals this is an awesome registry mod that turns the mini-stick into an analog device. You need to sacrifice an axis for it to work so the twist of the stick for rudder is now redundant you're good to go. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=63794&highlight=Mini This means you can have analog control for the TGP so a little stick for slow movement and a lot of stick for fast movement. -

Wow. When I got my x-65 I dl'd the latest drivers off of the site for win 7 x64 and was good to go. -
I really appreciate your AAR's as unlike most on the net you talk your way through and I get insight to your thoughts and tactics. I'd love to see one the CSAR mission. The only one I've found on YouTube is someone using labels so he's picking off targets you'd never detect at long range. I'm banging my head on the wall with this one because I hate to use the piece-meal approach memorizing threats and reactions to win. I'd love to see an experienced player approach and problem solve the mission to a logical conclusion.

Wow, yelling already 1/2 hour after announced.
-
Seems to have a similar screen to the CDU.

It seems every quick mission I fly the JTAC never has tasking for me. At first I thought the AI was killing everything before I could get airborne from the ramp, but even when I start on the runway I have no targets when I get to the front. Is this a bug or do I have to set things up differently?
-
Re-flew the mission and it worked this time. I must of set the grid wrong by accident last time since they were way off. Didn't change my procedures in between the 2 flights.
-
I was flying Smerch Hunt and everything was going fine through most of the mission. I switch the the JTAC Uzi as directed and he sends me a new target. I notice the UTM coordinates start with LN instead of the MN of the previous ones. When I entered the coordinates the were for a spot 1000 nm away. Is this a bug or what?

Will we ever see another hardcore jet sim from ED?
DayGlow replied to Risk's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
They never announced anything. It was wild speculation based on the fact that the 3D model was very detailed, just like wih the release of the A-10C the wild speculation the next module was a F-15E since it had a high detail model. -
Click- and Customizable Radio Menu for DCS World
DayGlow replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Well to be honest I don't use the clickable part. I found your mod moved the radio menu from my far monitor to the middle one in my triple setup. I use VAC for my inflight comms. I just like the other font better as its more readable at a glance and doesn't get lost in the background. I've been away from my sims for awhile and last time I setup DCS A-10 was before World and all the files I used to modify of course are moved or don't exist. Thanks for the pointer on where the fonts are located now. -
Click- and Customizable Radio Menu for DCS World
DayGlow replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I was looking to combine this with your more readable font size mod http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92483 but it seems that the font size lines aren't in the files anymore or located somewhere else. I'd love to combine these 2 mods and wondering if you can point me to where the font size is located now. -
missle and rocket damage low and no splash damage
DayGlow replied to Mar044's topic in Bugs and Problems
Been an issue since Lock On. Russian rockets have splash damage while western ones don't. -

Uh Wraith MP didn't do it. F4 was severely broken on release and the prolonged development decimated MP to the point they were bought up by Hasbro and gutted. Fast forward 15 years later and it still isn't flawless. The ATC still generates meat grinder suicide missions causing a major attrition war with zero finesse. I love flying BMS, but I don't for a second believe that a theater wide real time war simulation is financially viable. -
Win what? Since DCS already is working sim it wins.

DCS Mustang was announced in late January 2012 and the pre-release beta was in April and final release now. I imagine DCS Fighter will be announced in the same sort of time frame. It will be announced when it's ready for beta and all features are locked down.

They have secrecy because a planned feature or idea that doesnt make the cut becomes a promise and a lie

Are the systems and avionics less realistic in FC? Their interface maybe, but is the underlining modeling of the system inferior? What's more realistic? A. An immaculately modeled interface to a radar, every button and knob functioning as per spec to model the user interface perfectly, but the radar performance based on a look up table Or B. a simplified interface to a radar that has real time beam modeling based on ray tracing and actual beam physics Not saying FC's avionics are at that level, but is radar modeled differently in DCS vs FC?

Pci3 will make a difference if you are running a multi-gpu setup, but for a single card it won't saturate the bus.

Exported all my A-10C displays in DCS World - mostly

So I tried the one with the MFCD's on in the cockpit and it worked flawlessly. For some reason when I used the preset with the MFCD's off it didn't work. No worries I'll just manually turn them off. Thanks a bunch for the presets
