Is it possible to add RealSimulator product thread to the input/output thread for sharing information. https://realsimulator.com/shop/

Yeah I tried it and it didn’t work for me. I try to tune to multiplier/bfm so for my rig right now I’m running pd@ 9 and steamvr @80% and setting the video multiplier @54 like Bignewy and I’m always at 45 smooth FPS with my fpsvr in the green. That’s all what I know about all this stuff. My new rig with a 3090 will be here in 2 weeks and I’ll be starting all over again... but I’m learning how to tweak now
-
Your welcome ... you helped me when I first got my G2 so I try to give back.
-
I wonder if anybody could tell me why I get stutters and FPS drop when I switch jets in a BFM multiplayer server. Like if I start out with a Hornet I get a smooth play @ 45 FPS and fpsvr is showing good numbers and green scales, but when I switch to a Viper and especially a Tomcat it immediately starts to stutter and FPS goes from a smooth 45fps to as low as 13-20 FPS, fpsvr scales goes orange/ red ... but if I go back to the Hornet everything starts to run stable again. What causes that effect?

Yes I also have that issue. Right when I get on a server everything seems to be okay. But after respawning a few times that issue starts to act up. So Im curious if anyone can explain what’s going on and why it does that stuttering crap. It’s like something dragging the performance down.

I have the G2 running on my humble rig. For the last 3 days including tonight I have set WMR to auto, Steamvr to auto and have the video DCS multiplier at 54% I’m new to VR and I honestly can’t explain why but the Clarity, and smooth 45fps and steady too has improved. But anything over 60% I start to stutter. I found something my rig likes.
-
Last night I put my steam render resolution on Auto and 90Hz and and my video multiplier @ 54% and man it made a big difference in clarity and smoothness in a multiplayer server. But yeah I have the G2 so your OQ2 stuff is different. Have you tried to run your resolution on Auto?
-
I have the G2 and that has been my issue with clarity from day one. I mostly do BFM and Kinda getting use to the blur. hopeful my new rig with the 3090 does better and of course hoping for an E D solution/update. I just got to where if it runs smooth with no studders at 45fps it’s good enough for me... I guess.

Alt+Tab to another open window windows key +Y and move and check mouse movement alt+tab to DCS that’s the only way know so far. Kinda new to vr.

If you go with Alienware I can assure you that it’s a great rig for DCS. It’s alittle loud when running it at high performance mode but others are upgrading the fans for that issue. I have not had any heating issues what so ever with my R9 and runs DCS and probably any other game with no probs... really. With Alienware machines you definitely have to run msi afterburner for the gpu because they don’t give you that option in there command center. Im hoping this helps my G2 out... it better haha! If you do make sure to negotiate with the sales rep. They may not come down in the price for their high in machine but they will add stuff like programs, Ram and warranty. He added the best warranty and offered me 128gb of 3200mhz of Ram but I went with 64gb of 3400mhz and windows pro which I will not use the full potential of it. Anywho ! Alienware is a high price rig but it’s a great gaming machine. Also it’s the only way to get a 3090 right now. One more they manufacture they own gpu cards which are smaller then others. I think if you upgrade the gpu it will have to come from Dell... I think. take care

I just pulled the plug on the Alienware R11 with the Rtx2090 ... well there version of it and 64gb / 3400mhz of xfury. They through in the best 4 year warranty they had $4800ish the reason behind this purchase is I’m not a pc savvy builder kinda guy. My R9 with the 2080 super is just not running my G2 is good as I need it too. I’ve had a great experience with Alienware. with all the updated stuff coming from Eagle Dynamics in the next couple of months/years why not.

Getting new PC Questions concerning my DCS Account/Mods/Maps
Burt replied to Burt's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Oh okay thats great advice too. I did notice that I had 2 DCS folders " I have both stable and open beta on this pc. There is 1 in Program File/Eagle Dynamics this location has all my mods/aircraft. The other dcs is in my c;/drive/user/saved games. I noticed this when I was trying to download and add the F22A mod. I had to create an aircraft folder in there for it to work for some reason. I have very high speed connection. So another option as you mention is to Copy the Eagle Dynamic folder in the program files on a external drive which I do have but also copy my saved game DCS folder too and put that in the same place as it was in old pc? Great advice thanks ! you also have been a great work to me starting out here a year ago ...Thx! -
Getting new PC Questions concerning my DCS Account/Mods/Maps
Burt replied to Burt's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Excellent ! Thanks Svsmokey you have always helped me in here from day one. -
Hi, Yeah so Im getting a new DCS computer to help support my HP G2. After reading a few older post on this subject I would like to make sure I understand my steps. So, I will be downloading DCS open beta from Eagle Dynamics site like usual but my main concern is my Mods and Maps. When I sign in to my DCS account with my new machine will my mods and maps be in there to download all of them into this new rig? I know I will have to rebind all my commands back in my hotas for each but is this how it works? I just wanna make sure ... Thanks for any advice.

Welcome This discord/group is one of the best and they do training on different mods just about every week. Some of those guys are real pilots too. Great and friendly people in there. Tactical DCS https://discord.gg/tacticaldcs

No prob with the new 461.71 driver. I just got a new 34” 120hz monitor and it gave me a boost in FPS ... how? I have no idea but it did. I immediately noticed a difference. Maybe my G2 also. But no probs with it.
-
Yea that 1 he likes. I think I’m gonna get prescription lenses from vrwave I wonder if that may help alittle.
-
Which monitor? Difficult choice.

I just got a new Alienware 3420DW 34” 120hz 3440x1440p and noticed a big FPS drop from my 25” 240hz 1080p. Although I have more viewing room I do miss the 150ish frame rates I was getting with the 1080p. With the 34” I’m getting nothing over 90 FPS but it does run smooth and looks great. I honestly would have gone with a 27” 240hz but to late. I think you will like the wide screens either the 32” or 34”. I also had to turn a few settings down too to get the highest FPS @1440p. -

Burt replied to Nightstorm's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
okay got it !!! Well done thanks ! I was excited and went into the mission editor to create a mission but when I tried to add a plane I don’t see it in the list... sht! This is like when I got my first VR set “G2” and things were just not working the way it should be. But then again I better go read the installation instruction for this Mod, it’s my first one I ever tried to add. thanks for your guide it worked like a charm
