  1. Map keys. Sit in the cockpit in VR then invite my kids to have a look. Kick them off and try some touch and go's
  2. +1 It has been requested a few times in the Wish List part of the forum above. The title of this thread sounds delicious btw.
  3. If it wasn't for DCS and other flight sims I would have been disappointed with the whole thing. However having VR in DCS with the modules they have far out weighs any negatives for me. Onwards was a VR game that I got a lot out of but shooting guns and moving around is a sweaty mess and my Rift soon steams up. If I fly when It's hot I have a fan blowing on my head but that's just another thing to do to be comfortable. I have to say I am really pleased I did buy it because the novelty of sitting a cockpit and flying hasn't worn off in the 1.5 years I have add it. In fact I fly only in VR now.
  4. I used to be able to get Helios to work a long time ago and it is a fantastic tool. Does anyone know where I can get a step by step guide or video on how to do it correctly? I need to be told like a 4 year old on how to do this. It seems I am not the only one. If there is something like this in a document I will gladly make a video to help others out if that's the case. Cheers!
  5. Your assumption is just an assumption based on an early access module.
  6. No it doesn't.
  7. Sorry. *Tomcat
  8. Great stuff. Do you always keep a knife on your desk...............................just in case?
  9. Some really nice setups in this thread. Impressive stuff. I need to up my game.
  10. Brilliant idea and for such a great cause. Always great to see a real pilot trying something that we desk pilots have such a passion for. I’m in.
  11. Great stuff. Thanks for this.
  12. Cheers!
  13. Impressive stuff. I have a mission where I have to take off from a land base, fly 80 miles over sea to A2A refuel then fly back in land to bomb targets then close by take on a random jet for some BFM then depending on how much fuel I have left I either recover on the carrier or go get more gas. The hardest part of all that is what you guys are doing and that bloody case 1 recovery. My Tacview circles are bit wobblier than yours. Nice one!
  14. I use the right right sided button on the joystick for zoom. I haven't mapped an eject button yet because I'm just a brilliant pilot. :) nah I need to do that.
  15. Brilliant. Thanks for all the info. Lots to take in which is great. Does the Hornet radar in it's EA state give aspect? or do we need TWS for that?
  16. Thanks Catt. Where do I get the target aspect figure from in the radar?
  17. I couldn't think of a simple title sorry. I've been watching and in one of the episodes they are doing intercepts. So typically during the cold war era the setup would be head on against a Tu-95 Bear and the idea is to sneak up on the six. They talk about hitting benchmarks during the approach which make perfectly good logical sense. The first of these benchmarks is 40 miles out 8 miles to left of the target. The 40 mile bit is easy. How do I know I am 8 miles left of the target. Is there an easier way than having to do maths? They show a math equation that you have to do on the fly in your own head. That isn't gonna happen with my brain. I struggle to count my own fingers. If I do have to do the maths I am going to need Target Aspect figure. Where on the radar does it show that? Many thanks.
  18. I have both. When I first got TrackIR it was a massive game changer for me as I have been flight simming for many years up to that point. I would never fly without it. I got my Rift about a year ago and that had such a massive impact in the way I was immersed in the simulation it over shadowed my first TrackIR experience by a very long way. As for the motion sickness I did get it at first but that soon goes away and that seems to be quite common among VR users. I don't get sick now at all in DCS. I do get a bit of vertigo every now and then but that is from immersion and not a side effect. I have kept hold of my TrackIR unit and I use it now then for BMS 4.33 but it simply doesn't cut it when you can actually sit in the cockpit. As others have said it is subjective but VR is better :) You have a really nice set up and you will benefit from TrackIR but if you can get both, do it.
  19. Quality. Nice one thanks!
  20. Sounds like something I would be interested in doing.
  21. Really? Genuinely didn’t know it had that capability?
  22. I have my operating system on an SSD drive and have a spare SSD drive installed. On the spare drive I install DCS. This spare drive is of course still in the OS environment but it's directory and physical space is separate from the actual OS. It's a good idea to keep them both separate for many reasons. This is what he means.......I think because it's quite common to do it this way. In fact all my games are on a separate drive within one OS environment. I hope that makes more sense. BTW when I upgraded my PC with SSD drives it was the best performance boost I have seen for years. Really well worth it.

    What is this?

Yep me too. However this has been seeing me through the long wait. https://sim-deck.co.uk/tornado-digital-integration/

    Realistic FM?

That is exactly what we are. Don't come to a forum full of armchair pilots and say "Oh good. More armchair pilot opinions." because that is exactly what you are going to get. This has to be the best forum post of 2018.
