  1. This story is so bizarre, it's pobably true: A Russian movie company hires two Sukhoi pilots to film a couple of stunts. The pilots agree to take off without a canopy. Apparently following a plot-twist in the film, the back-seat pilot ejects from the aircraft while the front-seater keeps flying. The front-seater later claims he flew beyond Mach 2.0 ... with an open canopy! And then he says: "While on this speed I even managed to pull out my fingers in glove for an inch or two outside - it became heated very fast because of immense friction force plane undergoes with the air." Crazy ? NUTS ! Source: http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/the-dewline/2009/07/crazy-ivans-or-what-russian-su.html
  2. Obviously, this Italian Tornado pilot thinks he is flying in a simulated aircraft and that he never will get hurt while doing so. I have done this a lot in LO/FC, but I never, never would try this in real world... Source: http://g2globalsolutions.com/review/?p=1417
  3. Is this the real max movement of the empennage ? This must make the aircaft extremely manoeuvrable... I never saw this rudder output on a westen plane. Imagine how this plane reacts once airborne... Source: http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-J-XX-Prototype.html
  4. "The debriefing screen can be a handy tool to determine who did what, when it happened, and with what weapon. Most often you may use this to determine who attacked you in single and multiplayer missions. Below the log filter section are three buttons: SAVE TRACK, SAVE, and EXIT. SAVE TRACK. By pressing this button the file save screen is displayed, and in the FILE field you may enter a name for the track file that was automatically recorded during the mission. Note that all missions have a track file recorded. When you refly the same mission, the track file is overwritten unless you save it under a new name. The SAVE TRACK button allows you to do this. SAVE. Press this button to save the Log (.log) file of the mission. EXIT. Press this button to exit the debriefing screen and return to the Mission Editor. For Tacview recordings: "When the flight ends, exit Lock-On, launch Tacview, then open one of the flight records saved in \My Documents\Tacview\ folder." 5. Which is fine with me and I think with most of the people on this forum as well. It's true that when a newcomer joines a FC2 server and gets shot down two weeks in a row will be frustrated. But that is OK, because he either works hard on his skills or he turns away from the simulation ad enjoys a standard ego-shooter sim instead. I'm convinced, that all the people here, who have gone the long road from Flanker / Lock-On to FC1 and FC2, will stay with the sim, because they know what they have.
  6. IMHO, you get the most fun out of FC/DCS by not flying against AI opponents. They are nice for training, but the real kick is to fight against a human opponent, with all his/her skills and unpredictability.
  7. Ground Crew (F7) Select Payload... (F1) Player requests ground crew to rearm aircraft according to package selection. Ground crew answers: "Copy ". After rearming informs: "Rearming complete ". Guns only (F2) Player requests ground crew to reload gun. Default payload (F3) Player requests ground crew to reload default payload. Refueling (F4) 25% (F1) Player requests ground crew for 25% fuel. Ground crew answers: "Copy ". After refueling informs: "Refueling complete ". 50% (F2) Player requests ground crew for 50% fuel. 75% (F3) Player requests ground crew for 75% fuel. 100% (F4) Player requests ground crew for 100% fuel. 8. There is also a German section available on this forum: Gucks du hier, gucks du weita: http://forum.lockon.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=98
  9. Hi Yuya6104, you want to see the flight model / behaviour of the FC1 Vikhr in FC2 ? This is not possible. If you like the FC1 Vikhr model, you should reinstall FC and stick with FC1, do not upgrade to FC2.
  10. If it is the same platinum version, that is sold over here in Germany, it should have listed both Lock On and FC2 on the cover. You need FC2 (Flaming Cliffs 2) to play with DCS:Black Shark and the DCS A-10

  14. In FC2 Scripts\Database\planes, the MiG-29S.lua states MaxFuelWeight = "3500", whereas the MiG-29A.lua states MaxFuelWeight = "3380". ???
  15. The MP server list appears automatically when FC is launched in MP mode. It checks via the internet, which MP servers are available an puts them on a list. About the status of your FC after you reinstalled it without deactivating it before, I am not sure. When it didn't prompt you to activate it (and you didn't change your soft- and hardware), it still might be activated. However, if you don't see any servers, you should check with a mate providing a server , if your FC still connects properly to the internet. Ask for his IP once he launched his server and see if you can find it. Also make sure, that you don't block the ports by any firewall or router settings. Check TCP and UDP ports 10308 are properly forwarded to you PC.
  16. You could try to find a mod that changes the cockpit to the G-version or try to manually modify all the buttons and indications into english language. This is a cumbersone work an requires deeper knowledge of how to manipulate tga-files and which ones to change. Try this one: Mig-29 A/S/G Cockpit-Textur http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=22
  17. No, the cockpits of the Lock-On versions are non-clickable. The first clickable cockpit came with DCS: Black Shark
  18. No way this could happen. The FC2 engine is limited in its capacities, and cannot catch up with the DCS engine. If you go for compability, it's always downwards, providing only the common features of both engines. You always will end up with the FC2 standard as the basis, by that downgrading the 'better' sim.
  19. I agree with Geskes. DCS:A10C was delayed for months because of the compability requests for FC2 and DCS:BS. Let's face it: Ensuring downwards compability between new DCS modules and older version (also FC2) will take away much of the resources needed for development of the DCS series. You wouldn't try to make your Blue Ray player compatible to 78 RPM records, just because there are so many old records around, won't you ??
  20. NATO SECRET, US Eyes only, VS Geheim etc is good enough. Tactics manuals usually are not TOP SECRET.
  21. UBISOFT is holding the copyright for the original first Lock-On version. It has not been available in a download version up to now.
