Pimax has communicated a lot lately about product- and organization-development. My wish for 2025 is that they will continue to tell us more about what they actually found and improved. First I would like to say that I see Pimax as a company that pushes boundaries. How many VR headsets are there on the market with similar specifications? Are their headsets expensive? Yes. At least, for me they are. But, can I honestly expect everything 100% working? I do not know of any manufacturer that does achieve that. Do I expect Pimax to improve? Absolutely. Their latest communication shows they at least recognize this and are working on it. For the organization I hope they will catch up with quality control and customer support. We pay a lot of money for their headsets. At the same time these are products with the best specifications on the market. These products 'deserve' the best quality control and customer support. As for their latest new products, I hope they take a serious look into testing before going to the market. And with this testing I mean, when a tester finds a problem with the new headset, send it through the normal channels (tickets) so that the improved quality control and customer support are also tested. If you give testers direct channels you do not learn what could be done better at quality control and customer support. We, the customers, also only have tickets as our channel. So far I get the impression that the software is not seen as a product in itself. In my opinion it should be. For example, the 5K/8K/Crystal are now end-of-life. Do not try to develop software for new products like Light, Super and Air that also 'drags along' software for older headsets. Make a clear cut. Else it will become what we knew in the old days as 'spaghetti' software. Impossible to maintain and for sure introduce new bugs with every update. I'm not saying that the older version should not be maintained anymore. It should be kept updated but not as part of the newer systems. All these things that are said in the latest announcement about weight, facial fit, support etcetera at least shows to me that Pimax have listened to their customers. And the fact that they are open about it is also a good sign. This brings also along that the obligations Pimax now has to meet to its customers have also risen higher. After the Oculus and the Valve Index the Crystal has been a very big improvement for me. I'm still very happy with it. At the same time am I looking forward to the new Super. Not that I expect everything to be 100% from the start. But as long as Pimax keeps developing and issues can be solved I accept that. So, yes, I’m looking forward to 2025 and see what Pimax brings in the New Year. And I hope we will all be enjoying good VR times in our sims. Regards, Huub.

If your first two lines are about the local settings, then this should also be forwarded to the development team because these settings are clearly not available anymore when in offline mode. If your third line is about the update message, yes it is shown as a client-side update even when in offline mode. Can you please ask the development team also to look in the General tab. @Calvin.Pimax ok about the room setup, got that one working now. Can you point me to the document that explains all these options? But also, still waiting for some answers.

Thank you again for the reply. When you activate both "Video Passthrough (Lab Mode)" and "Passthrough" the room setup works only with controllers. Not with keyboard and/or mouse. So, for those who do not use controllers it does not add anything. The "old" way for room setup works at least as easy. Besides that, the video passthrough is still so bad that I cannot read the menu in the headset or read the keys on my keyboard. I can see the keys but that's it. For me, there still is that software bug that the "Active Chaperone" is required to see the volume indication in the headset. About the on- offline mode, what do the settings Language Preference, Automatic Start, Minimized Start, Hide to taskbar and Download Location all have to do with going offline? These are local settings applying to the local system where Pimax Play is installed. And I still do not have an answer how Pimax Play can see that there is an update available when I start the program in offline mode.

Thanks for the reply. For question #4, see picture. You cannot change the settings 'Passthrough' and/or 'Activate Chaperone' unless you first set 'Video Pass Through'. nullAs for question #3, I never use the controllers. The volume button is only used for what is says, control the volume of the sound. Nothing else. Maybe I do not understand your answer to question # 5. If you look at the picture you'll see that there is a message that 'some of the features' are still available. But nothing about what these are or what you're missing. And as I said, Pimax play still goes onto the internet despite that message.

@Calvin.Pimax can you please give some more information? 1.. Why this remark if the version is available to all users? 2. Does the Crystal also benefit from this update as it seems that there are no more updates for the Crystal? 3. There is still this bug where "Activate Chaperone" must be activated for the volume percentage to be shown in the headset when you change the volume with the knob on the headset. 4. To activate this setting the "Video Pass Through" must be activated first. And deactivated again when the Chaperone is activated. Why? 5. How come Pimax Play immediately showed the update message after start although I had Pimax Play set to 'offline'. 6. Why do we not get to see what version of Pimax Play is installed if we select to go 'offline'? All settings are unavailable. Why?

Have you tried already the vc_redist.x64 file that is on your computer in the DCS directory ..:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\distr. After running the install let Windows check for an update.

Really good to have it subtitles now, great interview, much information. Waiting now for the interview about the MiG-21 to also get subtitles.

I for one hope that the drag-and-drop option will remain as it give the coordinates for the wanted placement. Although the application does not update the config file I can take the values and enter them myself in the config file. And then have the kneeboard in CDS on the position I want. No need for changing standard DCS files. My DCS install and Saved Games are on two different non-system drives.

@MJY65 maybe you could give some sort of direction where you live? There might be someone on this forum that maybe lives not far away and could offer help. What does that mean? Do you have skills in working with electronic parts? It seems to me that your biggest fear is selecting the right parts. If somebody lives not far away you could talk this through. And finally, assembling the parts is actually simple. If you have the right tools and feel comfortable in using them. I did it over twenty years ago, started with a water-cooled system and still build my own systems today.

Never installed Steam again after Valve Index. Happy the way Pimax software is developing. Not there yet but as long as Pimax keeps developing we will get there. (I hope )

@Monkman911 Since the update I have this weird 90 degrees view when I start DCS, it shows the menu on the left or right side over my shoulder. The only way to correct this is to go back into Pimax Play and do the room setup. After that DCS starts in the correct view. But i have to do this every time after Pc start.

The easiest way for me that works on all planes is to set it in the UI layer, bind teh zoom & reset to a button on my (VKB) throttle. null

In your log file there are still lines referring to the now gone openbeta install. Have you tried with SkateZilla's tool to set all correct paths for both the DCS & saved games directories? Hello, In the "axis commands" screen the RSI-6K Receiver Tuning Knob is missing. The other knobs & handles are available in both the "All but axis commands" and the "axis commands" settings screen. Can you please add the receiver tuning knob as an axis?

I went for the Rhino. All I can say that it was worth the wait, Reservation made January 17 2024, delivered August 12. As you'll find as a common comment that software is key to get any FFB joystick working. And the Rhino does it in every aspect. And for multiple sims. Like a comment in a YouTube review, this base would be even the best if it was without force feedback.

At the moment I'm using the Caucasus templates as I wanted to have missions that are there just to fly around and practice on throttle and trim control for different planes. And then copy those to other maps. Your templates make these maps much more 'alive'. I've used your templates also in the various missions from emolina https://forum.dcs.world/topic/145655-the-interesting-missions-generator/ and found it a real shame that he has stopped working on this project. Anyways, I'm looking forward to your templates (no pressure... ). Huub.

In that case, looking forward to your templates for these other maps... Question: is it possible to remove a template from a mission? Maybe I'm not looking at the right place but in the mission editor I can find only add or edit for a template. How would I correct for instance when I added a red template instead of a blue one?
