Which server is that? I'm an offline player, but I'd like to give multiplayer a shot assuming it's for DCS stable and is VR friendly.

I'd take a Balkans map in a heartbeat. In fact, expanding the Black Sea map to include the other Black Sea countries - Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey - makes even more sense.

I totally agree: I'd love to see some European Cold War Maps - Central Europe, the Balkans... Personally, I have no interest in Syria. And, yes, I would love to see at least one full-fidelity Russian jet.

Here's a classic air-battle - the I-16 vs. the A6M2 Zero. The Zero AI is set to "high".

Hi DOL, Holy cow!! Just tried dogfighting with a couple of those AI controlled Zeros - both set to excellent. I was flying my trusty old I-16, which is the most maneuverable plane in DCS. Well, those Zeros wiped the floor with me... :) I managed to kill one of them, but the other other one flew circles around me. Other AI planes have infinite climb, too, but these Zeros can also turn literally on a dime while climbing. There's no way to fight such an aircraft - it's faster, infinitely powerful, and more maneuverable even compared to the I-16. I'll have to try a modern jet and even then I don't know if I stand a chance... Well, the flight model may not be super-realistic, but at least you gave me a new challenge. :) Cheers, Doc

Thank you for the wonderful carrier mod - really top notch work! I also tried the Reisen52 mod, but it doesn't seem to work for me (DCS 2.5.6, latest stable) - all I get is a greenish cube that cannot be controlled. Is there a flyable version that works in DCS 2.5.6?

VIDEO: MiG-29 vs. F-15 and F-16 (Stupid AI...) Trying out the MiG-29 against an F-15 and then against an F-16 (excellent AI, 60% fuel for everybody). The AI is just too predictable and stupid...

VIDEO: Practicing Carrier Landing Here's a video of my carrier landing practice. The video is of the full practice, but I've sped the playback through the "tedious" parts. Overall, the new 1.4.1 version of the A-4E is much more stable than the 1.4 version. The plane is now fun to fly and I haven't run into any "exploding while taking off" issues with either the Stennis or the Supercarrier boats. The flight model is...well...what it is... But if you don't take it too seriously, this is a fantastic free module - on par with many of the paid modules.

Just saw the latest DCS update info and wanted to say "Thank you!" to Magnitude 3 / Leatherneck for continuing to stand by and improve their products. Both the MiG-21 and the Christen Eagle are some of my favorite mods and I very much appreciate all the updates and enhancements to both.

My good old MiG-21 hadn't flown in a while. So, the last couple of days I've been flying the Mig-21 exclusively. Here's a video of my trying my luck against an AI F-15 (set to "high"). Enjoy!

Two Mig-21s vs. three A4Es Sneaking up on a flight of unsuspecting A-4Es with my Mig-21. It's been a long time since I've flown the Mig: I'm rusty, but I'm starting to remember how much fun that plane is.

Confirmed. I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting for a fix, though. Apparently this mod was done by a single guy and he appears to be overwhelmed. I imagine at some point - in one of the next DCS updates - other, more vital functions will stop working. And then what??

That's a known bug... Hopefully it'll get fixed in the next update.

This video shows how overconfidence and carelessness get punished in aerial combat. I'm flying my favorite Polikarpov I-16 with a wingman. Flying towards us are three Bf-109K4s and two FW-190D9s... All enemy AI is set to the highest level ("Excellent").

After being away from the CEII for a couple of months, I just tried my old aerobatic routine this evening. I'm sorry to say that the latest update made the plane even less responsive and less capable. The roll rate has definitely decreased. The old issues are still there. All that "tuning" that was reported in the update description seems to have made things worse as far as I'm concerned. I used to really enjoy flying this plane - now it's going back into oblivion. Is there a way to revert just the CEII to a previous version?

P-47 Action

I'm very tempted to buy the new P-47. I don't mind paying to support quality software development. However, after purchasing a few mods (e.g. FW190-A8, L-39) that I don't really enjoy, I'm very hesitant to buy anything else unless I try it first. The free trial period back in April and May allowed to me to figure out exactly which mods I want to add to my collection. But the P-47 wasn't out at the time... I wonder if ED would consider allowing customers a limited (say 24 hours) trial period before buying. Or perhaps, you pay $5 to fly the plane for a couple of days - if you like it, you pay the rest and the plane is yours, otherwise all you lost was $5 (and had fun in the meantime). Just my 2 cents... Doc

Do you mean sideways landing? Skip to 2:30 and then to 4:20...
