  1. Enfield 11, you are below glidepath. (Nice text HUD :)) The best advice for landing I can think of is to establish boards out, gear and flaps down as early in the approach as you can and then maintain the proper airspeed with the velocity vector on the threshold of the runway. Flair and cut throttle just before touchdown.
  2. I wouldn't say there are any must haves but there are plenty of good missions at Thomas Weiss's lockonfiles.com site. You'll have to log in. http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=61#cat
  3. GGTharos, we are still waiting.
  4. Is there a truly modern combat flight sim other than LOMAC? Can LOMAC be considered truly modern? The addition of an F/A-18 to the current flyables could only be a good thing for LOMAC.
  5. I think it can be fixed without those, but it won't be.
  6. I don't have any future projects installed on my computer. But I do have an F-15 with no IFF, screwed up navigation, screwed up missiles and screwed up TWS mode. I also have SAMs that fire missiles in no particular direction and Strelas that shoot down mavericks. I also have an AWACS that gives me a pop-up group for the same flight 20 times.
  7. Hey look! It's a shiny helicopter!
  8. You thought you had one three days ago. Look in your LockOn folder for a sub folder named Doc.
  9. For God's sake, just skim the manual, if nothing else. Just look at the diagrams maybe. I'm all for helping new guys, but only ones who make an effort to help themselves first. The F-15 Section is 27 pages. Read them.
  10. Holy crap. I just did a test run on that campaign with easy radar on. You get a moving map, like Falcon. Booger, to turn on easy radar, you must declassify the mission. Do that in the edit menu and the password is eagle. Then you can enable easy radar in the options menu. I'm not sire, but you might have to do that before every mission in the campaign.
  11. The A-10 doesn't have a radar. I don't know what easy radar looks like or actually does, but not having a radar makes me think it wouldn't help too much.
  12. If it clears up after the mission is running, it's normal. While the game is loading many of us get comms that are "breaking up".
  13. I have tried it. What's all quite a bit better? Help a blind man out. I think it's a good looking utlity that obviously took a lot of time and I join everyone in thanking Virtuoz for his efforts and contribution. But there are several replies here that seem to be amazed in what this utility gives them and I simply don't see it. I want to know what I'm missing. The ability to jump around in time is an obvious advantage but beyond that I can see that there are things that a track would show that this doesn't (cockpit view).
  14. I asked a question. No judgments, slaps or dismissals were part of that question. All of that can be seen in a track file. In fact the radar's lack of ability to pick up returns is something that you can only see in a track file because you can see where the radar is scanning and what is showing up on the MFD.
  15. Could someone please describe the advantages of this utility over a track file with externals, map and labels enabled? Other than the ability to rewind, which is obvious.
  16. You assume everyone else will buy BS. There are some that haven't even bought FC.
  17. 1. When at 40k feet and flying relatively level, look at your MFD's lower left corner for "G" and then a number. That number is your ground speed and should be very close to your true airspeed. Those WWII fighters were not flying at 200 knots indicated airspeed at 40,000 feet. The figure you see on the HUD tape is indicated airspeed. Also, the figure on the MFD's lower right corner after the "T" shows your indicated airspeed. It should show your true airspeed but ED screwed it up a while back and never fixed it. 2. Really the only good way to keep sight on that bandit is to be low yourself. Good luck hitting him with anything. 3. No. ED obviously has better things to do than to model IFF for the F-15. 4. Any way you can. Throw the kitchen sink at it if you have to. 5. For shots less than 5-6 miles, the 7 appears to be a much better missile. That is completely inaccurate modelling but we have to deal with it.
  18. You don't f-pole a 120 shot. If you do, you're putting yourself in dangerous territory too long.
  19. What would be the disadvantage to putting it down on the grass? I've seen a few belly in and they are always on the runway, so there must be a good reason.
  20. STT is not necessary for NCTR. It works in TWS too. IG, the problem isn't that the 15 can't tell the difference from friend and foe, the problem is that once a target is locked, IFF info goes away. The only way to tell a friend from a foe is to see their unlocked return on radar.
  21. I'm just troubleshooting here, but the next step I'd try is to uninstall the Saitek software and see if going online still makes your kb go nuts. Also check for newer software form the Saitek site.
  22. You may have a stuck button on your stick (or just a faulty joystick). If so, it is sending a command constantly and from your descrition, it sounds like there is a shift in the command. See if the problem happens after a reboot with the stick disconnected.
  23. I would try reinstalling the Saitek software. Be sure to keep a copy of your profile before uninstalling, though.
