So we can actually walk around plane
Weltensegler replied to DB 605's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Really? never heard of getting into any aircraft again. Why would they take that out? Sure you didn't drifted off in your thoughts while selecting a new slot? :) -
Very important for another few years until 4K-6K Monitors hit standard, then it will be on us to find the sufficiently displayed pixel. So long...yes we need a scaling! But a reasonable one please and not BMS style. Also a glare at appropriate angles in addition would be helpful and most likely possible with EDGE.

How do you know what is your objective?
Weltensegler replied to skendzie's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
There is no definite success or fail (unless you die) mostly. There is a hotkey which I don't remember right now that shows you an percentage if when you turn back and land now (or end mission might work too) you would progress to the next one. Alot missions are like real war you kill some targets or just delay some enemies to reach a certain point and you did your mission. Trying to win the war alone and kill everything on the map is not the task...its not a game :) -
When you rush through startup and take off quickly that happens a lot. they take some time to ground align. Stay on ground until they are. As soon as you take off they will never finish alignment. This might not be a technically perfect description but thats what it comes down to.

Forget it. On current resolution we shouldn't judge visibility in the OCR. Next generation hopefully yes.

how can I ask hangar open gate for my aircraft?
Weltensegler replied to bin801's topic in DCS Wishlist
wouldn't that be awesome to have maybe in DCS CA a vehicle like this: http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/5217/pushback.jpg ...functioning of course -
dcs updater incorrect version for win 64
Weltensegler replied to arcturas's topic in Installation Problems
I don't remember we had an updater in flanker 2.0 or lockon :) Anyways did you check out the sticky post about broken updaters etc.? -
...but if you do drugs please don't refrain from posting here. As much as I appreciate a mature and informative forum,... this thread made my day :)

Differentiating Multiple Broadcasted SPI’s
Weltensegler replied to Fakum's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You should see a line from plane to wedding cake for everyone in your net group that is broadcasting. So I assume you were not in the same group or had double IDs within the group or something. Regarding the triangle that has nothing to do with broadcasting SPI but is a target assignment via data link. You can lock something up (aim at it with TGP and make it your SPI) then move your courser over the plane on your TAD you wanna send it to and then hit "send". He is gonna get a triangle and can comply, deny or just acknowledge and then hook up that triangle and make it his SPI. Another way would be sending or telling the coordinates and your wingmen create mark/waypoints according to those but the previous 2 methods are way more efficient. -
As I commented in the podcast garden, thank you for all the time you are about to invest in this for us! Much appreciated! Speaking of time investment...I wanna "suggest" something though I totally understand if you don't wanna do it cuz it will be more time to invest. I am a huge fan of podcasts that also get launched on youtube. While it is not necessary to hold the podcast with webcams etc it is awesome to get some post editing done related to the conversation. E.G. showing screenshots of about what is discussed or photos or videos of cockpit builds or whatever will be topic in the future. regards, WELD

I really hope that's not how the clouds will look like! I don't care if its real volumetric or point cloud technology etc...it looks worse than before. But yeah of course lets wait, nobody said that's how its gonna look. In fact I'm almost certain they not gonna ruin the nice new lighting with crappy clouds (like these).

OBS works just fine for me...never had a crash. I can collect all my settings for you tonight if that would help you!? so long try "game capture" and keep in mind that the DCS menu is kind of an own app for OBS so you might have to do an extra module for that or just dont show the time u r on the menu on stream.

[REPORTED] aircraft visibilty-LOD system
Weltensegler replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Object Errors
Well I haven't worked a lot with EDM tools. But as you mentioned are tons of talented people in this community that do the same process every day with the EDM tool. All the modders in the modeling section of this forum have other than me the routine of exporting a box from max into EDM tools and export it the right way to DCS or skip EDM completely. Should be easy as pie for anyone that has ever brought a model from max to DCS. -
[REPORTED] aircraft visibilty-LOD system
Weltensegler replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Object Errors
:) yeah I deleted that part of my suggestion since I, just coming from work fixing similar things but now being intoxicated, kinda missed for a moment that one would rather replace the box and override the other model file. :-p but ok now we know it actually a missing polygon :D -

thank you for this thread! great find. -
go ahead! just join the teamspeak in the server info and say hi. fly safe

Not adding anything really to what has been explained but underlining a feature of the bullseye... ...the advantage is that it the same reference for everybody (on your team). So if I would try to warn 5 pilots of a threat using BRA calls I would have to make one for each individually but a bullseye call I can just shoot out there and everybody knows whats going on. In the A10C for example you can cycle through the courser modes on your TAD to easily read or project bullseye calls.

good chances we gonna have both one day.

Really, NeilWillis? Had a bad day or something? Didn't mean to offend you. But I advise you to follow you own suggestion and read posts less selective before you start flaming or blaming me for any kind of attitude. If you were around at the time I'm talking about then you know that at that time there was not a single NOT-modern DCS module! Neither existing nor announced if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure latest with the P51 then and the kick starter for DCS WWII a lot WWII fans did wish for more like that. I enjoy flying WWII planes as well. So let me rephrase that for you: "Since the announcement of the next modern US fix wing (at which time barely anybody expected anythings else than jets for DCS) plenty of modules not matching that description have been released". and to help my judgy friend with my other line: "another one nobody asked for (...when the next Jet was announced)? where is the F18 I considered into my cockpit build years ago (...when there were ONLY modern aircraft in DCS)?" Hope you get it. Regarding the informative part of your post. yes all that development time and reasons is basically what I said just with less words and not the proper English skills you might have. Still not sure why you repeat that after my post, are you assuming we disagree because you didn't read or what? Anyways..for the part you don't understand...I agree with you.
-
On one hand I agree. Since the F18C was announced (well officially announced as next popular modern US fix wing...) several modules have come out and I admit I always sigh and think: "another one nobody asked for? where is the F18 I considered into my cockpit build years ago?" But then I remind myself that besides the fact that the F18 comes with a lot unpredictable challenges that DCS hasn't seen yet like unscripted carrier landings, ground radar etc., most modules that have been released since then are either third party modules or done by a separate team. Also not to forget the switch to EDGE which kinda puts even "finished" products like Nevada on the bench for now. So lets just wait a bit longer and see what happens after EDGE and Nevada arrive. I'm sure by then and probably 5 more WWII planes later we will get some news about the holy F18 and other wished for modules. I mean we already have two F18 versions in work...the first released will be the hero for some and the methadone for the ones that wait for the other version. regards, WELD

On oculus dud came into my company half a year ago and presented the 1080p version...for a picture wrapped around most of your vision...NOT sufficient! its like putting your nose on a 1080p TV. Your eyes draw focus to the LEDs and lines inbetween. They did plan to go for retina display etc and up the resolution but that was before facebook took over. Who knows how fast that will progress. But with 1080p I will definitely not get an oculus! I rather stick to multi monitor solutions or 4K sceens.

OMG flashback ...3dx Voodoo, man was I proud when I got that thingy back then :D

A-10 cockpit mod idea/request
Weltensegler replied to gear_monkey's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Do it! There are mods that replace the glas already...to those yellow tinted side windows. You probably find some opacity map in one of those templates that you could add some haze dirt or scratches as you please and then share them with us. -
phase shifting sub space cloak generator, DUH!?
