  1. To help you, I will give you an compare to work from. Flying Apache is like balancing 5 eggs on each fingertip, while under the influence of 18 vodkashots....Blindfolded. Even with curves it just takes a lot of small corrections. If you have the controls windows up, in my finding, if the red cross is more than two crosses width from the perfect control input, it feels like a massive over correction. Also compared to a fighter jet, A helicopters control surface is really really small. Some call it agile , some will call it out of control :). I find that the curves can compensate for my lack of skill but if too much the helicopter feels like flying a brick. One of my things is predicting the moves of the apache. Practice a lot
  2. 1. Real world is not simulated here. Real world combat is a lot tougher than in whatever sim! 2. yes there are hick ups, it is a super complicated system, remember they are living off this product, they try their hardest to make it work. Bluntly: good work makes for food on the table. 3. It is now moving at a pace where us "we want it all" And we can not keep up anymore. It took DCS a lot longer that we hoped for but we are getting damn close. 4. I'll never forget the p-51 launch, all called for realism and once we got it, damn it is too tough to fly etc. Well they had real world data and their own friggin plane. We got what we asked for and we still bitch.... 5. Think twice before just running off with a thing. BUT if something is not right, yeah give em the beans but in a nice constructive way. We build together. Just be nicer overall.

  3. Finally got it all setup right, and weird to let go and watch. But was a bolter and flew a case 1 recovery. Not correct but was a test. This is NOT a rant on why mother automation didn't give me a 3 wire :). Settings were 10 knots of wind, 5 degree offset (to make it interesting). I choose a time where I could still do visual for testing. Breaking the immersion, a lot is going on on the coding side and to be frank (for me), doing ACL should not be a 3 wire all the time. Here is what happened.
  4. Paddles is blasting this on my Carrier approach....

  6. Knock on wood, I have not to date broken the gear, the jet many times but not the gear yet.
  7. A few ....Look forward to your in depth post
  8. I got it too. Rescan devices is the best way to fix atm.
  9. So I'm still a flying god..phew...
  10. My pictures from Danish Airshow June 19th in Karup.
  11. That would have been a short movie
  12. F-16 has a big place in my heart and After the changes to fm showcased by GS, I'm back in the viper. Have done plenty of cas in Apache, Hornet and Viper, so time for a "simple" 1v1 against the mig-29 AI. Head to head 15 miles guns only (let's start easy ey) 1. Fight goes to out of fuel....ok ok I'm rusty and air to air was never my best part... 2. Still having a really hard time...check control scheme all a ok. hmmm 3. Dang ..what is going on..I'm not that bad...what not to do...defensive and hit the break and Mig falls out in front of me and brrrt dead. He did fire his guns and missed (total fluke to win this). 4th run: Then I had this kind of moment(see video now), Total surprise....I had flown 4 times with refuel door open. Violin moment "well it does something different in my apache setup. Live and learn Baby
  13. She's American and she will take all the gas you have and quick But it is going to be a fun ride. Fun aside the DCS model have become better, day 1 was any oil producers wet dream
  14. The culprit could also be, that the carrier was not a SC boat from the start. So ols Stennis boat changed to ABE
  15. My gamepad does the same. Increase deadzone. If you look in axies control, under the current control it should be blank. When you move it, then you see a readout. I got a readout just resting me finger on it. I up the deadzone until readout resting my finger.
  16. Thx a million, this was driving me crazy
  17. Story time. It is summer of 2018 in little Denmark and we have the air force free airshow. Best summer in 50 years, 25c + from May to September. I book flight tickets and we land 1 hour before the flying show and leave 2 hours after gates closes. Friggin perfect.... 1900 hours ish the night before, I get a text saying the morning flight is cancelled, shiz balls ...hmm checking trains and first train will put us there at 1000 am, show starts at 0800. So no good. I call my friend and past coworker and tell him the news. Only option is by car. It is a 4 hour drive and a murdering early start. I need to sell it and give it 10 % chance as the start time is around 0330.....and I don't hold a drivers license, so all driving is on him. I break the news and tell him that the only option is him as driver and in 4 hours time. I think "he will never go for it" ....he chews on it and go "roadtrip ..hell why not" Hell yeah we going ... We arrive and morgning is looking good. We are looking forward to see su-27 Ukraine and a F-104 frigging on the display roster. (does are just my biggest gains). 2 hours in (10 o clock roughly) clouds close in bad. Rain is next and cloud cover is around 1000 feet. So all those great planes do low race tracks. We are wet beyond belief and anything inside have our attention. At that time, the race to provide the next fighter for Denmark was on. Boeing brought a F-18 sim, Well it is inside and dry...I get in the que. Everybody is half a meter shorter than me and a million years younger. I felt I was in the wrong line...hell no F-18 sim, do not pass up never ever :). DCS f-18 was not out, so I now stick and throttle, and now how to fly on a sim. So newb on the system but get to fly...I go inverted over a Mountain top and try to land, but have no "on speed" knowledge and fail bad on landing. I get out and a major in the RDAF ask if i'm an old pilot......nahh just a million sim hours and his daughter was beaming. So great bro moment and DCS time have done something. Only day that summer with bad weather in that area. But still for me a great story and trip. The 2020 show is now 19th June 2022 and guess who is my wingman and we might go early or a layover. Dcs wise, ohh bring the F-18 sim, I know a heck more now But show had to greatest line up in 20 years and it rained away. A freak roadtrip was the balance of the weather. Life is great if you let it We were drenched yet still a awesome day
  18. saw it today as well, Enjoyed it, but Tony Scot is greatly missed. The vail is not what is was in 1986, at that time not any had seen carrier ops and up close. It was wild. The first (for me) "give me a shot of a carrier landing any day. We got that today and it is going to be better. Back to the movie, The plot is weak unless you view it through 1986 eyes. 1 to 1 comparaison is not fair but it does have some moments that work better today and wouldn't have made any sense in 1986.
