    Mustang!

    Happy Birthday mate! Cheers!
  3. Negative, there is no solution of this problem, not with the current engine.
  4. Negative, engine limitation.
  5. And as you can see that "jerk" is only noticeable when the pilot holds the cyclic carelessly with two fingers. When he holds it with whole hand there is no such thing- 2:06.
  6. I'm glad we've helped you guys to enjoy the sim even more. You felt frustrated in the beggining? It wouldn't be normal if you didn't ;) BS and DCS in general is built with totaly new philosophy- the so called learning curve. First you read, then you train, then read again, then train some more and step by step you'll get there. And the deeper you go the bigger the fun and satisfaction.
  7. Only one idea- practice. And read the trimming posts again, including FAQ. Sorry, but this is how it is. The trim works perfectly is one of best features of Black Shark.
  8. Well, there is no strict rule how the pilot is supposed to do it. I guess it's a matter of habits and paritaly of systems (namely autopilot). On Ka-32 for instance trimming doesn't cause noticeable jerk of the controls. I've tested it myself many times on ground during maintenance with ground hydraulic power and the cyclic do tends to jump in your hands if you don't hold it strong enough but usualy on these flight controls tests we move the controls so rapidly that would never occur in flight. IRL I see the pilots make very slight movements, almost unoticeable, but they keep on pressing and releasing that button. The Apache- well, it's a terra incognita for me :) Gotta read a lot about it to get a basis for correct assessment. But since it also has force trim system it should work exactly the same way. For example Agusta 109E Power has also force trim and the button even is on the same place on the cyclic as the russian helicopters. There is no room for diferent solutions with this system.
  9. Hmm, I guess we have to specify the real aircraft then. In the real thing that will make you fly without any tension on the stick. I've flown on Ka-32 with pilots with 11000+ flight hours and they never do it. What they do is what the flight manual says- move the control, press and release the trim button. The tension is cancelled.
  10. Also, you need to steer the nose (align the LOS) only to get LA (the C symbol on the HUD). After you launch, you can maneuver off the LOS within the gimbal limits of the system.
  11. No, if you hold down the button it's not a trimming anymore- you're losing all artificial feedback, the controls become light as air and you may pretty easily overcontrol the helicopter. It may be common practice for some helicopters to hover with holding down the trim button but not in the Kamov. I guess it's because of different autopilots. In BS the practice is to press and release, during manuvering- in every 1-2 sec and since most of us don't have FFB sticks you need to quickly bring the stick back to neutral after releasing the trim button. Note- the cyclic and the pedals won't be in neutral in your virtual pit.
  12. I would start with the tail rotor thing :D Seriously, ligning up LOS with the tele-automat position is another thing that brings proper trimming of the helicopter. Even when using automatic turn to target mode if you fly with some slip angle your LOS will still be off. Try working with the pedals and trim to always fly without or at least with minimum side slip. In other words- keep the ball in the center.
  13. Funny thing- I've worked with ex-Mi-17 pilots on Ka-32 and they've told me the same- often in hover they've used to fly with trim button pressed in the Mil. They don't do that in the Kamov anymore, although the loading mechanism and the solenoids (electro-magnetical brakes) are identical. I guess it's the autopilot that makes the difference.
  14. One basic principle you have to understand- it's called force trim system, by pressing the trim button all you do is to set new neutral position of the cyclic and pedals in terms of force caused by the artificial force devices (springs). It's only purpose is to make pilot's life easier so he doesn't get tired fighting with the springs all the time. It's completely independent system. The rigging of the flight controls is such that in the neutral position (cyclic and pedals centered) all springs are relaxed and there is no tension on the controls. When you move any control you have to overcome the tension of the corresponding srping (there are 3 of them in total- one for pitch, one for bank (on the cyclic) and one for yaw (on the pedals)). If you let go on the stick (or pedal) with the tension still present the spring will bring it back to the neutral hence giving the oposite command. So what the pilot does is to move the cyclic (pedal) the way he wants, press the trim button and that will cancel the tension, he has now set new neutral position in terms of force. You may ask why the heck we need those srpings to make poor pilot's life miserable. :) Well, the servo actuators are irreversible- they take all the load and don't give anything back, so all the force the pilot must apply to move a control is just to overcome the weight and friction of the mechanical linkage to the servo which is so small that you can do it with one finger. The pilot needs feedback for aerodynamic forces and that feedback is given by the srpings.
  15. Same here, but the feature to slave it to the HMS eliminates low FPS. Also, even if not using the HMS get used to center the Shkval when you maneuver to engage targets at different positions.
  16. Can't verify right now, should say something like "Боевое применение".
  17. HMS, moves it almost instantaneously. See the training track- combat implementation.
  18. That's a common mistake I see online- people skip the flying part counting on autopilot and are anxious to go shooting. Usualy that leads to poor tactical position (aka sitting duck) and eliminates any defensive and even many offensive options. Trim, trim again and then trim some more- when you can manualy make the helicopter to hover over a choosen by you point (which gives you tactical benefits) you'll find out that autohover is needless. I don't wanna this to sound like a show off but I don't know how to initate an autohover and have never done it for 1 year and 9 months work with BS. It's an extra, something intended to assist the pilot, not to take his functions of flying the chopper.
  20. As far as the Shkval is concerned it supports all kind of laser and TV guided weapons on the Su-25T, the one intended for the Ka-50 is slightly different due to the specific nature of it's platform. Hint- why do you think the Su-25T has 8xVikhrs launchers while the Ka-50 only 6? ;) BTW if you wanna smash a building or sink a ship go for bombs, way more fun. :D
  21. Инпут-> Настройки--> Управление Наверху справа есть "Сохранить Профиль...". Профиль сохраняется в .lua формате в C:\Program Files\1C\Eagle Dynamics\Black Shark\BlackShark\
  22. They don't, those are the values for all TV3-117 family. The free turbine is rated at 100.2% which corresponds to 15000 RPM.
