I've never had anything to do with AIs but I would guess that it's the assigned task and target type that matters in this case. How close to those buildings you gave'em attack point?

RvE Lockon Realism Mod Release Candidate 4 (Public Beta)
RvETito replied to RvEYoda's topic in DCS Modding
I guess Groove means just to edit the payload in LO and swap the gunpods (for example) with two 800l tanks. -
Better later then never- best wishes, Kuky, have a good one!

Virtual Blue Impulse "KATANA" virtual airshow

Looks amazing! I still remember the KATANA team in the good old Flanker 2. Glad to see them in LO. -

About 10 have been produced, I think I read somewhere that there are still some airworthy planes in Lipetsk. -

Well Viper, 25T is totaly dofferent story, I was talking about the vanilla only. We haven't spoken seriously in the squad about the T yet because it was just yesterday that we moved to the '90's ;) -

There was another idea behind Su-25's payload- it's so mixed to force you use different tactics. Even I was thinking about removing the 25ML's as they would never be used IRL in such scenario. They are building pinpoint missiles, any unit in the campaign is overkilled by 25ML but hey, we talk about tactics here. They give you sort of a standoff range, for clusters or any other iron bomb you need to get some altitude and dive for CCIP, rockets and gunpods are another story- with SPPU-22 you can easily knock out quiet a lot of trucks or light armor in almost level flight while for heavy armor you need to straff at deeper angle and aim for the turret. Those were our considerations. -

If they haven't changed the A2G part of the missions the payload of the Su-25 is pretty much optimal, if you don't like it is me that you have to blame - I composed them :D I came to realise that clusters are not quiet suitable since the units are mostly spreaded and with one bomb you can't kill more than 1, maximum 2 units which is waste, perhaps we could put a coupla more gunpods :D A pair of 25's can do any primary objective in any mission with one sortie, tested. Of course, that assumes air superiority of our side. I'm coming back this evening and I'm gonna check it tonight. -

Sounds like a hulluva fun. What I care about the most- How did the bombers perform in that mess? -

I now recall that the ability of shooting the gun with fuel tank was implemented during the 9-12 evolution, before the 9-13 and 9-13S (MiG-29S). I have that in a MiG-29 monography, I'll check from which series/year this ability is implemented. The MiG-29 has quiet a lot of modifications in the first years of pruduction- rudders with increased chord, the first serial 9-12 have underfuselage tail fins like the Su-27 which are removed later on, etc. The gun/tank problem is one of the mods. So, apparently, those hungarian MiG's are from later produced aircraft. I know that Russia paid their debt to Hungary in mid '90s with 22 (AFAIK) MiG-29's from the ones produced for the russian AF which hasn't have the money to pay for them. Those must be some of them. -

Confirm. Yoda, I'll look for details about the Su-27 and get back to you, expect it tomorow evening. Also, I'll say either R-73 or R-60M for the MiG, no mix like in the '80s server (I know we did it for balance)- AFAIK the WCS can work with only type short range AAM. Was?! You able to control clients engines? Don't tell me you can do the same with flight controls also :) -

I don't think that this could be done in lua, but I'd better leave the expert speak :) -

Not being able to spool with changed payload? Now that's cool, never thought about it that way. Question- does that affect bombers? -
If you land on a road near friendly airbase you won't get kicked in our server. The AMRACT uses the mp_log.txt to work and if you land on a road or make an emergency landing on the grass this LO will report landing on the nearest base. This is how we deal with it- we can only say which bases are enemy and which are friendly. In LO every base has a certain territory where, in case of road of emergency landing, the chat says 'pilot XXX landed at YYY'. So when flying in our server- always read the brief to know where you can land without being automaticaly kicked ;)
-
Yeah, you get a 2min kick for losing an aircraft. Just in these 2 mins you can't conenct to the server. That has another goal- to deal with road cheaters- some stunt oriented players like very much to land on roads near enemy bases and wait on 1st gear to scramble at any unawared enemy that has no idea about their presence or just to 'get the score'. Cheap amd ruining good gameplay.

RvETito replied to RvEYoda's topic in DCS Modding
Yeah indeed, you got me wrong I guess- I meant that A2G of fighters(or at least russian) is the only one that is available on ground or low altitude and u told me that the purpose is to not impact bombers. Case solved. As for flaps and airbrakes- Su-25(T) has excellent FM in FC, we don't have to simplify it ;) A-10 is slow enough anyway so I'd say to leave the default SFM we have for it anyway. Don't use that as reference, I suck in dodging and I notice my SA in BVR is close to zero recently :/ -

I believe he meant the missiles ;) We haven't changed fuel capacity in the script. -

RvETito replied to RvEYoda's topic in DCS Modding
Hmm, I had the impression that the mod is for fighters only, now I recall we were discussing the ground clutter self-jamming that A2G mode becomes the only one available to not hit bombers. I can't express any valid opinion about the A-10 as I don't really fly it in LO but IMO you should leave the 25(T) untouched. It's the only one that has advanced flight model in the game, flaps including. At combat position they improve the performance but if you pull harder (like it happens to me recently lol :D) with them in combat position watch your wings falling appart :D So the limitation is already there, if you remove that people will be able to pull like crazy with no danger of breaking the jet. Why wasting this nice feature in the FM :) ? As for full flaps, as soon as you reach 350 km/h IAS the plane starts shaking like crazy and is pretty much unflyable (or at least unable to do any aiming/shooting as you can't read your HUD or sight) so this limitation is also implemented in LO. -
Babalui, if you haven't noticed we do have red and blue airfileds in the server- you land on a enemy base- you get immediate 2min ban ;)

True, but we need the performance charts and plots to verify it. The MiG manual I have concerns only combat usage. The Flanker manual though is more detailed, I'll have a look there, could eventualy find something usefull.
