  1. No, these are ingame with 25-30FPS at medium settings.
  2. Are you sure you have assigned it in the input? Go to Options-Input and from the Category drop down list select Axis commands (highlighted in green). What does the collective say? By default it's assigned to the slider. To change it, click on the slider in the X52 column, then click on Clear. After that click on Add and move the throttle, it will appear as JOY_Z, press OK to set it. Don't forget to save your profile as..
  3. Pretty modest- AMD X2 4200+ S939, 3GB RAM, 7800GT video.
  4. I'm sure it's a Startrek technology but the question what is that deffect is still valid.
  5. Just watched the Swiss team display. Whoever is not watching hurry up because you gonna miss a bunch. That's an unique experience.
  6. Hey, you're overtaking! Where is your turning light? :D
  7. And the beat goes on.... I just spawned in MP server and I see a friendly Ka-50 approaching the FARP for landing. There are 8 pads and mine is the only one occupied. I thought the guy gonna land at the one on my front right... But suddently he got the brilliant idea that my pad belongs to him. Ooouhaaa.. oups.. The result is two helos broken and my pilot's killed but he made it- he got the pad :D
  8. Last month I led a PPL (H) course in a college here and for the Principles of flight subject I used exactly this book. Good choice for getting started and basic undertsading of helicopter dynamics.
  9. Just had a nice 2-ship coop flight with Shepski and on the way back to the FARP I took a closer look at his tail :) Some other shots:
  10. It seems pretty quiet the MP lobby, I guess people who got the english d/l are still exploring. MP is stable but it requires faster connection than LO, it's more ping demanding.
  11. Sure it's gonna be helpful to have all the useful info in one place. True, there are always the training tracks, the manual and Matt's videos but BS is so complex that sometimes things may go out of the book. Extra training is never too much.
  12. Run the game update with .036 drivers, right now if you look to the list of supported products BS is not present. NP screwed up something, the game was supported with previous drivers. No clue about the vsync. That FPS jumping sounds like game is switching cores to me, at least this is how both LO and BS behaved when I got dual core CPU. Installed latest AMD drivers and all good, everything is running on a single core. I also have some minilags sometimes but only the first time a certain sound is played. The disappearing sound happens sometimes when switching externals, after sometime it comes back again. I'm not sure wether it's driver related couse mine are pretty old.
  13. That's totaly different story, I call it Red Flag spirit. Go for it.
  14. I'd second that. Having A2A as primary objective will lead to nothing but airquake. Not to mention that it's all but realisitc. Why don't you focus your efforts in making some meaningful coop missions? Would be much more fun.
  15. Give me a Ka-32 and I can retire from the virtual battlefield.
  16. Fall 2008 exercise in Belarus. Belarussian Su-27 landing on road Belarussian Su-25UB landing on road Russian Su-25 launching S-25 rocket. Man that thing is huge! Belarussian Mi-24 Mi-8 Su-27 Su-25's shooting guns, note the smoke and the shells falling Retarded bombs KABOOOM!
  17. Given that it costs over 200 000 $ I have no clue what kind of technolgy is used there but that looks exactly like layers unglue for ordinary multilayered aircraft glass. Usualy cuased by thermal stresses for heated windshields when the heating is ON on ground or at high outside temperature.
  18. Nope, this is another one.
  19. What's wrong with this canopy?
  20. Nothing specific, just some joint flights between our MiG-29's and greek F-16C's block 52+ (APG-68(V9) radars, JHMCS, IRIS-T missiles). We had a lot of guests in the last few years, I guess it has been our turn to go abroad.
  21. Using the vanilla X52 and never had any issues with beta and release versions of BS. I've heard that the 52pro drivers might be corrupted, I'd suggest you either try older drivers (I'm using the one that come with the CD, 2 years 9 months old) or bring this to Saitek customer support.
  22. I would recommend to everyone to experiment with the sounds sliders, depending on your sound hardware and hearing you might experience different impression.
  23. Having approx. 80 flight hours as flight engineer in Ka-32 (featuring the same engines and similar rotor system as Ka-50) and quiet a lot in ground runs both from inside (cockpit) and outside I can tell you that the original sound of Ka-50 is VERY, VERY realisitc in all modes- idle, auto, take-off power, maneuvering, high speed, high rotor RPM, autorotation, spool down. I don't want to discourage you, I respect your efforts, but IMO it's a waste of time to try changing something that doesn't need a change.
  24. This looks more like Mi-8MTKO- upgraded for night operations. Except for the FLIR it has the Shturm ATGM complex installed. Believe it or not this is claimed to be the most efficient russian helicopter in Chechnya even though it's not PR'd like the Ka-50.
  25. More pics from the Brave Heart exercise- http://www.modelclub.gr/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=1f7e81588d181254230c9479e487fc2c&topic=10296.15
