Hyperlobby Server with 80s weapons only
RvETito replied to RvEYoda's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well I'll try to bring it back to the subject- if you want to fly without active and longrange semiactive or IR missiles- RvE '80s server gives you that opportunity. This is how the server runs and we'll stick to this policy. -

Personally, I don't really care about those pathetic plastic xmas candles called aim-9. I would rather prefer a gunpod or throw away the M61 gun and put the GAU-8 instead :D -

Well.. yeah.. unfortunately LO doesn't model that part of the Black Sea. Otherwise a total devastation of the capitalistic forces is inevident. :D -
Guys, I'm away for uknown time so upload is not possible now. Ask some of my squadmates- Yoda, AS or Fusion if they still have it. If not, I'm affraid you'll have to wait. It was actualy Fusion who found it on a newsgroup back in february.

And with the =2IAE= Bulgarian mod we could have USSR's strongest ally in the region :D -

Affrimative. The Su-27P/S is seen with Sorbtsya pods even during tests in mid '80s. I admire that idea. I really enjoyed the '80's weekend at the 51st PVO some time ago though it was only about MiG-29 (9-12) and Su-25. The R-27T has been in the Su-27 arsenal from scratch so it must be in. However, if we have to be so strict that means that the Su-25T also goes out of the game which I'll hardly accept :( Also, no german MiG's neither. -
I have the whole series on my hard drive but I think it had 8 parts Jim. I strongly recommend it to everyone.

Yeah comrade, what happened to Garfield? Did you pass to the Dark side already? :D

I tested my eye last week when an MiG-21 made a low pass over my town and pulled a climbing spiral- man this plane is hard to spot! I would estimate that I lost it at range of 5-6km at blue sky. I could hear the roar of the engine for about a minute after I lost it. I also read a lot of released to the press reports from the recently organized coop exercise "Mako Javellin 2008" between 93rd Fighter squadron from the 39th FW "Makos" based at Homestead AFB, Florida (part of USAF reserve) and 1st and 2nd Fighter squadrons of 3rd Graff Ignatievo AFB, Bulgaria. During the typical scenarios 2v2 F-16C (block 30) vs MiG-21 and 1v1 F-16 vs MiG-29 CAC the US pilots report that the 21 is extremely hard to spot visualy, especially in look down view- in that case they say you see it not further than 2.5-3.5nm (having it locked on radar for assistance), in look up at blue sky it's about 4nm and at the same altitude they've been able to have visual on it from 4.5-5nm. The 29 have been much easier to see, of course because of the "unique" feature of it's engines. Shocking story I heard once from Fisben, avionics engineer from the MiG Company and part of the ED team- during test flights, namely head on intercept between 29s the GCI calls "Target headon, range 48(km)". The answer has been.... "I got visual"...
-
Well the real life data says that any MiG-29 should be the easiest one to spot visualy among all modern fighters because of it's... engines smoke :D But that's another story...

http://mms://video.rfn.ru/rtr-vesti/143324.asf This one is the georgian 25 shot down yesterday. I read on russian news that hour and a half ago another georgian 25 has been shot down near Tshinvali, while trying to attack the city. Both planes are claimed to be taken by south-osetian MANPAD's. It is very likely that both planes are ex-bulgarian. My country sold 6 Su-25's (which were not airworthy) to Georgia few years ago. -
Another big FPS hit is the Su-25T with all it's polys. We were flying once with Voodoo and Yorz, me and Yorz in T, Voodoo in 33 as escort. When I look to my left, where the 33 was I had 50FPS, I look to my right to Yorz and... boom, 20FPS. So whenever there's a 25T in the mission- don't look at it unless you're shooting :D

F-42? Too bad it will be unmanned..

Fly 10m in the canyons and pop heaters at anything that moves. Soon you'll become ace number 1 :D

The article is written by a russian spotter, he mostly describes the way he has managed to take the pictures in a secret test facility and what maneuvers (funnel) the helicopter has been performing. It says nothing about the purpose of the test flight. What I see though are the two fairings on the wingtips housing some new antennas or equipement. Also, noticeable is the lack of any targeting complex in the nose.

T-toad is a GREAT SEAD platform!
RvETito replied to cobrabase's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
TBH, the 25T is the only plane in LO that I fly with pleasure. Apart of it's tactical capabilities it feels sooooo damn nice.. I always feel great after successful sortie with a T. It doesn't feel that way at all after a good fightersweep- F-15, 27, 29- too much ordinary. -
Good idea. Have no clue what that movie is but it couldn't be less "interesting" than the f-22 argue here. BTW, I heard the raptor will kick a$$ in the new Star Wars episode. The days of the dark side are counted!

That's rather gold :D

Bring this stuff eslewhere you f-22 fanbois. The most pointless threads in this forum have always involved this plane. I begin to wonder whether it's an accident but the cyclic appearance of this crap brought me to the conclsion that this must be one of features of this plane- to get people into pointless discussions. If you ask me the f-22 is a flying piece of sh*t but since it's flying, it attracts my interest.

To remind you that MiG-35 has two EOS's on board- on front of the canopy and under the right engine nacelle, both serve for totaly diferent purposes.

The cockpit: F-22 and F/A-18E style airbrakes: Other pics: http://pilot.strizhi.info/2008/07/07/5508#more-5508 The plane is still lacking EOS, perhaps waiting for new one. There are also some gauges in the pit that are very likely to be just for test flight purposes.
