  1. They would. Except the ones which have problems with construction, for example. Surely you understand that a huge military like russian is supposed to perform not only defensive, but also offensive operations because of the geopolitical interests of the country? Furthermore, your understanding of Defensive is quite wrong as even if you are defending you still need to destroy targets not only close to the front line, but further into the enemy territory. Moreover, there are naval targets like ship and carrier strike groups that still need to be taken out. For that you need huge missile. What's more, local conflicts might occur where usually only a few dozens of planes needed and more sophisticated weapons would make an edge over the enemy larger and losses lower. Finally, Russia has to keep up with nato on the same tech level as things might always go the way noone wants them to go. There are no doubts that combined Nato forces are way more numerous than russian army, but is's a well known fact that the unity between Nato isn't perfect and if some of the major nato players decide not to participate in a conflict, a coalition of military weak countries like germany+britain and other minor players must be overwhelmed both with quantity and quality. And in the air it's easirer to fight with quality, not quantity About multitool - its cheaper to have 1 multirole plane than 2 specialized ones
  2. Just like Su-57 Sure, still, shame tax payers threw millions on unfinished garbage. But that's the price you pay when you start production before trials are fully completed. Yes, Su-57 was used in combat in Syria, successfully and fully ended its trials and is now serially produced fully combat capable right from the plane that made its maiden flight a month or so ago. Guess what, each aircraft type has prototypes that are used only for ground tests and never get into the air thought they are fully capable of that. You probably have n o idea why, do you? Maybe? Subject to further cuts? Funny, name at least one contract on fighters in Russia that wasn't fully completed in the last 10 years. There're none, so keep your foam in your mouth
  3. Not so much, listen to F-35 pilots please. F-35 was rushed into service without successfully completing its trials first. Unlike Su-57 or F-22. It definitely will, the question is how many dozens or hundreds of planes are going to be semi-capable for the rest of their times because of the rush. Too big question to ask me. That's what multi-role planes are designed for. Furthermore, what can attack can as well be used as a defensive weapon Su-27s, MiG-29s in the first place. Su-30SMs later. Some MiG-31 might be replaced as well IMO
  4. Read the first sentence please. What US added to IOC so that its corrupted F-35 program looked better in tax payers eyes is US business. Numbers are not equal capabilities and performance of the airframe
  6. American ergonomics - Best ergonomics of all ergonomics
  7. So True, i would love to fly from New Kuz, however i don't want neither supercarrier nor hornet/tomcat
  8. And right now there are more then 0 Su-57s I guess you should take some math classes
  10. You might wanna Google something before writing If you have no idea what you are talking about. IOC is not about numbers, it's about the completeness of the aircraft systems. In fewer words - quality, not quantity. Su-57 is already a fully combat capable aircraft while F-35, which was rushed into production, had been in IOC stage for years.
  13. You can already download mods. Non official cdk stuff won't be forced to be installed, and can and will be banned on those servers where it isn't needed. So, any other points for "bad idea"?
  14. You are comparing the very first MiG-29 to late 90s - 2000s aircraft, aren't you?
  16. Reality says it supports
  17. How do you launch Su-33 from catapults?
  18. Well, people want a competitive red fighter Not necessarily, it's just MiG-29 is a better known and more iconic plane
  20. No money for Su-57, no money at all https://tvzvezda.ru/news/forces/content/20201230034-5QaKY.html Google translate:
  21. Hate to bring it to you, but 5km away from its target aim-9X will only see it as a pixel, and a flare like another pixel. Its resolution is pretty poor (128×128) so sorry, but nope, still "bad proof". Yep, just like aim-9X they are capable of selection between hotter and colder targets. Do you think that only IIR missiles are capable of "some simple filtering logic and trajectory prediction", or do you think that these missiles are better in that regard? May i ask you why do you think so? Flares fly along woth the plane for some time and loose speed slowly, they do not stop like in no time. And planes usually tend to maneuver when they are being fired upon, except, of course, if that plane in not an F-15, operated by saudis
  22. Nope, too few pixels to distinguish a flare from a jet, except, maybe, when the missile is really close to the target, about a few hundret meters. Bad proof, show us that F-4 5 kilometres away
  23. That's why 75 more aircraft are entering service in the next 7-8 years We're not playing UNO, stop FLAKing around. I'm still waiting for the list of countries. So slovikian MiG-29s aren't in service. I got ya. Welp, your reaction was expected. In 2010 your kind of people said that russia wasn't capable of making a fifth gen fighter, then they said that pak fa won't get beyond 1-2 prototypes, then they said that that when india left FGFA the program would be closed, then they said that there won't be any contracts as russia can't afford buying SU-57s. Now, when second serial plane is built you're saying that the contract won't be finished. Too many things are against you, especially taking into consideration that for the last 12 years fighters were delivered right on scedules of their contarcts. Those weren't contracts, just claims. Yeah. Just like Su-35S in 2008
  24. Production lines take time to reach its full production capabilities. By the end of 2024 there'll be 22 Su-57s and still that won't be the peak of production. The deliveries are likely to be like 2020 - 1; 2021 - 2; 2022 - 4; 2023 - 6; 2024 - 9 https://rg.ru/2020/12/21/shojgu-rasskazal-ob-etapah-postavki-su-57-v-vks-rossii.html
