  1. Somewhere around 1953-1954, Sabre cockpits started to be painted in a medium grey colour. Before that they were matte black. Fernandez's Sabre was an early F model built before the colour change so I made it black. I think I mentioned it in the original forum post when the skin became available for DL a while back, but I don't know if I said the same in the Readme. I should probably be a little less lazy with Readme files ;) As DonJosh posted above, some of my skins have black cockpits depending on what year the aircraft were built in RL.

    SEA Camo

Very much W.I.P. I don't think any USAF F-86Fs ever served in this scheme, but some were sold to foreign countries and delivered in this scheme during the late 1960s. Coming soon to a theater (of war) near you...
  3. Glad you like them, can't wait for the Vamp! :)
  4. I'll probably tart it up to look like a CF-5A, complete with 1970s Tom Selleck moustache on the pilot ;)
  5. Skins available now :) Argentina http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1985813/ Bolivia http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1985863/
  6. Sheesh, yeah, doesn't get much more ironic than that :(
  7. Pending approval. After the weekend they'll probably show up. I made a no serials version for Chimango and his squad, that's why he was able to post pics :)
  8. My pleasure, glad you all like it. Chau! Suerte! :) @DonJosh, yeah I know. Pics are quite rare.
  9. Progress: Anybody have any images of period squadron patches for the FAC Sabre pilots? The FAC Sabre markings changed slightly over the service life of the aircraft, I've decided to omit the full FAC title as seen later and depict the aircraft as it appeared shortly after delivery from Canadair. The nationality markings were fun to make :)
  10. Argentina and Bolivia F-86F skins uploaded Uploaded and awaiting approval... C-120 of IV Brigada Aerea, FAA: Many thanks to Chimango for help in stencil translation and historical accuracy! and... 658 of Grupo Aereo de Caza 32, Fuerza Aerea Boliviana: Currently working on a Columbian Canadair Mk.6 and if time permits might do a Mk.4 from Honduras too, as I like the camo scheme. :)
  11. Bolivian Sabre F-86F of GAC-32, Fuerza Aerea Boliviana. I'm discovering that photos of Bolivian Sabres are rather rare... at least period photos of them in active service. Serial number styles differ from pic to pic but here it is: Cheers!
  12. Me too! Including the UVW layers in your latest templates has made the process a lot faster and easier, many thanks! :)
  13. I think it's the angle the pics were taken that makes the camo look matte, combined with the direction the aircraft is pointed and the angle of the sun. For the painted liveries I try to go for something between glossy and new and sun faded wreck rotting in a field ;) Thanks for the translations!
  14. I'd been thinking of doing a Columbian Sabre for a while, mainly because the camo scheme is very similar to the RCAF camo, and also because a guy I work with was in the FAC... Forum member "Chimango" has been assisting with a FAA skin and since the camo is pretty much identical to that used on Bolivian Sabres I might as well do the A-B-Cs of South America... Argentina, Bolivia, Columbia :D F-86F of the Fuerza Aerea Argentina Just have to finish the 200 gal drops.
  15. Well to be fair, the F-86F has only just come out of beta after already being available for about two years. I, like a lot of others, jumped in with both feet even though the module was far from complete. Yes, it's frustrating when you have to go back and redo a lot of your work because of constant updates to the product, but I'm the one who couldn't wait to get started :) You'd think I would have learned from skinning the P-51D while it was still beta! Having spent many, many hours now working with the F-86F I can honestly say it's the most accurate F-86 model I've ever seen in any flight sim. BST really did a great job on this aircraft and I can't wait for the F-5E now. Let's see if I learn anything, however ;)
  16. Okaaayyy... All my Sabre skins have been uploaded again to correct the missing country line in the description files. This should solve all default livery display problems. My bad. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=jocko417&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter Please delete any of my Sabre skins you've previously downloaded and install them again. Corrected some details on 414 RCAF 23416 (Camo) while I was at it. :)
  17. Ok, simple enough. For interest's sake, if ALL country codes are in a description, will the game use a skin as default, or only if NO countries are included?
  18. By the way, old versions had USA and CAN as countries (and ISR for Israeli Sabres), but never noticed RCAF skins being used as US defaults. Did something change in 1.5.3?
  19. My question too, never had an issue with my P-51 skins or A-10 skins. Is this a 1.5.3 thing or a F-86 thing? On thd road so can't test anything right now.
  20. I got rid of the country lines in the latest versions after answering umpteen PMs about 'why can't I find your skin in the mission builder', when player country not set to USA or CAN. Without a country line in the description, will the game assume that skin is a default skin eventhough it's named something else? I'm a skin guy, not a programmer :)
  21. Thanks Chima, check your PM's :)
  22. Hi Art, Are you saying one of my RCAF skins is being used as a default or that the BST Canadian Sabre skin from the new texture pack is? Only thing I can think of is if you select Canada as a country maybe DCS/BST will use the new Canadian skin as a default since you are playing as a Canadian? Not sure how this would happen otherwise, they're just textures. Have you tried installing them as per the directory tree mentioned in the readme? I don't play the game very much, 99% of my time in DCS these days is skinning, not flying, and definitely not multiplayer.
  23. 23221 of the STU available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1969069/
  24. Progress: Not sure yet in what direction this one will go. I could have sworn someone had already done a TuAF skin like this but I can't find it. Everything is subject to change, might be one of the other squadrons (Yellow or blue lightning/nose) that flew the F-86 in the final version. There are many variations on markings and stenciling depending on which photos you use as examples.
