  1. FR Mk.IXc of No. 16 Sqn, RAF. Nationality Marking I on fuselage and upper wings were 30" diameter, with 12" fin flash. All over PRU pink. D-Day markings consisted only of the black segments, on lower fuselage. Obviously W.I.P... just playing around right now while we wait for a template. After the template is released prepare for the deluge of RCAF Spits... as this is always a popular aircraft with skinners I think I'll stick to Canuck schemes for now. ;)
  2. I'm planning on doing quite a few RCAF Spit liveries. Right now I'm playing around with the default paint scheme and getting used to where everything is. Also changing the nationality markings to a more standard appearance ;)
  3. This will probably be the first one I release... CF-5A "hack job" - 116709 of No. 433 "Porcupine" Squadron, Canadian Armed Forces. Early style variegated camo scheme with light grey under sides, full colour nationality markings. Need to clean up some stuff (camo pattern on aft end) first. Probably won't jump right into CF-5A skins yet until we know how many changes are coming to the template/mapping.
  4.
  5. That came later with the wrap around camo scheme... Above has the light grey underside, because I haven't finished the under wrap around ;) Like I said, nothing is final yet, markings and stencils may not match camo timeline :)
  6. Back end progress.
  7. 116709 of No. 433 "Porcupine" Squadron... Nothing is final yet: CF-5 camo and markings/stencils changed quite a bit over the 25-odd years the aircraft was on strength. Still can't change the shiny metal aft end...
  8. Formation strips...
  9. Progress. Haven't decided exactly how "Canadian" I'm going to with this one ;) I could change certain things (Fuel cap locations, etc) via new normal maps to replicate a CF-5A but I think for now I'll wait and see how many changes occur with the model/mapping. The Sabre, although fun and rewarding to paint, was a lot of work. Haven't started with the tip tank mod yet. BTW, is it even possible to change the aluminum back end at the moment? Can't seem to get rid of the shininess regardless of what I do with the Dif and Spec layers...
  10. Nice work! :)
  11. Nothing final yet, just mucking around and getting to know the template... Earliest CF-5A camo scheme was Dark Green/Grey over Light Grey. The markings are the symmetrical type with the english and french versions of Armed Forces flanking the roundel. "CANADA" titles need to be moved aft a bit, near the aux doors, flag/serial group needs to be smaller. Anyway, it's a start. :)
  12. WooHOO!!!
  13. Nice! :)
  14. So.... care to lend a hand? :D
  15. :) The F-86 has been out for a while and still no (official) template. Perhaps one of the devs could shoot us something to work with in the meantime... but there may be changes to the mapping or model in future which could mean a lot of skin updating from us. ;) Remember, it's a Beta.
  16. Once the template is available it should be a lot of fun...

    Good enough! :)
  18. How about TWO Portuguese liveries? :) http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/index.php?CREATED_BY=jocko417&set_filter=Y&arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&PAGEN_1=4
  19. Not released... yet. Yes, Canadair built the CF-5A under licence, as well as the two seat CF-5D, and the NF-5 for the Royal Netherlands Air Force. Later, surplus aircraft were used by Turkey, Greece and Venezuela. I am looking forward to making paint schemes for the F-5E but I don't think I'll get too deep into it until we know how many changes may occur before the product is out of beta. Plus, the Spit is probably not too far away and I have a boatload of RCAF Spitfire resources.

    SEA Camo

The previous Latin Sabre camo schemes are probably a more accurate pattern, just need to adjust the colours :)

    SEA Camo

Finished the demarcation between the upper and lower camo. Just have to do same for external tanks and she's about done.

Ha! I put a moustache on the Pete Fernandez pilot, but you won't see it unless/until you bail out :) Only thing stopping me right now from doing a FAH Sabre is I can't find a nice pic of the art on the speed brake. <HINT> :)

    SEA Camo

Yeah, it was the first Fury prototype to fly. Essentially an F-86E with cannons instead, and a modified windshield.

Might darken the blue a bit, and make it glossier. Those gun ports required an excruciating amount of futzing around with the nose numbers... ;) The original aircraft had 20 mm cannons mounted lower down, below the numbers themselves, the fifties unfortunately sit right where the numbers are supposed to be.

Update: Remember this one is semi-historical... I've only found photos of export aircraft in this scheme, with no nationality markings applied. Also... the other "sea" camo: This XFJ-2B was the closest one can get to a Sabre in navy blue that hadn't really been navalized yet. The RL aircraft had 4x20mm cannons instead of the fifties. Nose number 756 still to be added.
