  1. Black boxes of doom I am seeing them also, rarely... but it still happens
  2. I agree. They made huge mistake with that, now forums are filled with people wanting more fantasy stuff just because they once submitted to those requests and they have to lock threads because of aggressiveness of those people that won't get what they wish. There is one saying here and I will translate it literally "Give them one finger, soon they will want whole hand." that is happening right now... I am ok with keeping everything as realistic as possible and same standard everywhere.
  3. Export nations usually don't have enough intelligence on what type of threats they will encounter not to mention the fact that they also won't control airspace as whole when deploying their attack helicopters, there it is advantageous to have better RWR suite that will help with survival. Russia on the other hand will have that information and airspace will be controlled fully and clear of any threat when using their attack helicopters (same reason American versions of Apache didn't have Stingers, they don't need them, you can't encounter air threat where there is no one flying except your friends) which means that only one able to shoot you down will be either IR type manpad/system in which case RWR doesn't help at all or some radar guided type of defense and there you are fine with hemisphere of radiation and lock sound, in my opinion that is all you need to know. And yes, I would also like SPO-15 just because missions could be created without other kinds of air support, but they probably didn't model it because SPO-15 is still classified and too advanced, even tho many think it's simple the way it operates is very complex (current game representation in FC3 is wrong on so many levels).
  4. Is it at least less frequent then before?
  5. Sadly there is no right answer, I am still not sure why it seems to have helped me and not others. So far it seems that something is very wrong with the way game allocates and uses memory and if turning off DEP really fixes the issue as it seems for one user in the other thread it did, then this is beyond us to fix. This would also explain why for some it works fine and for some doesn't, every system is different when it comes to memory allocation.
  6. I tried this few days ago when I was still experiencing crashes and it made no difference. Mind you every protection on the system was disabled both aftermarket and built in ones. EDIT: just to mention this, since I made that page file change my game is yet to crash (3+ days and still going strong)
  7. I will just say this: when you turn DEP off and it really helps with the issue that means that executing program is not using system memory in a safe manner, all kinds of issues can occur if left like that Not to mention all possible exploits and security risks involved with disabling it. I wouldn't do it except for debugging purposes.
  8. Am I the only one thinking that SPO-10 is actually fine with the way Mi-24P is intended to be used?
  9. Whole point of the online digital product sales being based in Switzerland is that it grants ED ability to write anything in EULA unlike if it was done from some EU country. Now for example they may use this to protect themselves from refunding scammers... I don't like the idea of no refunding at least for the first two hours of ownership starting at first launch with the new content and of course if the product is unusable or has game breaking bugs refund should be mandatory (and it actually is in a lot states, state laws are those that protect you) but in Switzerland it isn't and we all accepted it and must live with it.
  10. Because DCS is running in so called borderless windowed regime, basically resolution will be the same and you won't know the difference but alt tab will function much better than exclusive fullscreen mode. If you have no black screen in between alt tabbing game is in borderless windowed.
  11. I don't have MSFS2020 also, system except for GPU is 2 months old. For 2 days straight didn't have any crash but I am calmly expecting their return...
  12. I see you post this quite a lot but this doesn't necessarily mean that display driver crashed, if that were the case whole screen would go black for a second and windows would try to restart display driver and you would also have display driver related errors in windows report. In this case d3d11.dll is probably only one link in the chain but crash seems to be caused by the application that is using dll.
  13. Last one happened when you disconnected from the server? Just in case you can also try emptying fxo folder, its contents will regenerate on the next mission load C:\Users\*Your username*\Saved Games\DCS\fxo One more thing, if you didn't do it already, you can try to untick fullscreen in options it shouldn't impact FPS nor visuals at all but game seems much more stable at least for me (when you change fullscreen option game should restart by itself)
  14. @Burt Try with 32768 first if that doesn't fix crashes or make them very infrequent try with 65536, there is no reason to go higher than that
  15. I am not sure, but anything is possible at this point
  16. Still didn't crash fingers crossed... My preload radius is 100000 Now just to be clear even if this does fix or make the issue much less likely to happen it still seems like DCS is doing something wrong with memory allocation since it didn't happen before 2.7 and not to mention that there is no application on my PC that requires page file this big considering amount of physical RAM, it seems that here we are patching aquarium with duck tape and hope it won't leak. I don't have a problem with lack of space but some here can't afford to lose that much for page file because one program is using it for who knows what reason.
  17. Can you try setting pagefile from system managed to fixed value? First try with 32768MB both initial and maximum after you set it reboot PC and then delete DCS temp folder which is located in AppData/Local/Temp -> DCS or DCS.openbeta (depends if you use standalone or steam)
  18. It could be that we have few bugs that intertwine with each other, first try deleting Temp/DCS or Temp/DCS.openbeta located in AppData/Local as Flappie suggested and after that untick fullscreen in game options (game should restart by itself if it doesn't do it manually) EDIT: from logs both times mission was loaded from temp folder, hopefully it will make a difference when you delete it
  19. This is the second day after I made the change, I tried changing missions, jets, maps loading thru or without mission editor, restarting game and PC many times and so far so good. Hopefully something comes out of this
  20. I am just a member of this forum trying to help others and myself since I have good amount of knowledge in debugging I don't have access to those automatic crash reports.
  21. I might be onto something but I will need day or two to confirm it due to irregular crashing pattern. Long story short seems like dx and the game don't know real amount of commit charge that is available when page file is set to system managed (could be OS bug but unlikely) so memory allocation errors occur. By setting page file to fixed 32768 both initial and allocated, after multiple restarts and full day of testing I couldn't make the game crash. Why I even bothered to try it was because when DCS is open even tho physical memory is not even near being fully utilized so called hard faults occur regularly which means something is constantly using page file.
  22. Hmmm, I never had problems with take offs, landings were a bit challenging at first but nowadays I can reliably approach and land at 270km/h, 250km/h as per manual is still possible but AOA will be around 15deg and tail (engines) very close to hitting the ground I'll have to test that reverse ground effect tho to see if it really pulls you down, about overall control in flight that is hard to judge for me because I can only look at IRL videos and try to compare, I can't feel if the jet is doing what it should but I also think that flight gear you use is very important especially with MiG29, to achieve full precision 200mm extension on joystick seems like a must Good video to somewhat judge take off and landing in the real thing
  23. Lol Can you elaborate your lol what's so wrong with MiG29 flight model?
  24. As far as R-77 and radar upgrade I think that it only expanded maximum number of targets that you can engage at once with R-77 from 2 to 4, I might be wrong on that
  25. Ok, after some extensive testing... Sadly nothing can be concluded except that it won't crash on the first loading at least it never crashed for me so far. Temp folder does have some weird behavior, first is that Mission folder within it will be left empty or populated depending on the way you exit the game. If you use QUIT it will be empty if you use QUIT TO DESKTOP it will remain filled with files, but that doesn't seem to impact crashing sadly. *Also game is creating pairs of the same files every time you press "Fly again", they are named differently but contain same data (every bit is the same), not sure why it's like that but that also doesn't seem to affect crashing. At this point this is sadly getting out of my reach and volunteering territory, would need deobfuscated DCS.exe without DRM to run full debugging line by line Probably only way for this to ever get fixed is that developers need PC that is misbehaving to run required debugging but it seems they don't... at least for now. *
