correct as is Full weapons loadout total Hind weight exceeds 100%
SuumCuique replied to Mac D's topic in Bugs and Problems
S-8 rocket pods are heavy and the Hind is a heavy helicopter itself, with a slightly lower max TO weight than the Mi-8 from which it is derived. Take less fuel or weapons, or do a rolling TO. -
That is not a manual, it is a quick start guide. It doesn't go into any depths at all.

He jumped to the front seat to show how to arm the weapons, not just the switches you need to press in the backseat. I don't think there is a reason to suspect that the AI will not be able to arm those switches yet.

adf Anyone knows if the hind as ADF and TACAN tracking?
SuumCuique replied to Frag's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
The Mig-21 has RSBN and PRGM (~TACAN and ILS). The Mi-8 does not have it and I have not seen any indication of it being available for the Mi-24. Navigation in the Hind will be visual, ADF and doppler. -

It has the same ADF as the Mi-8, so it can tune into beacons in the khz range. No Tacan though, it is not a western aircraft after all. -
I have been playing both the KA-50 and Mig-21 quite a bit recently. Any RWR is better than none. It will do it's job. Not nearly as good as the western RWRs or even the SPO-15, but it works.

Did you input heading during the alignment?

Can you share what you guys are a currently working on?

I would hope that DCS standardizes the radars. The question is how does the KLJ-7 compare to the AN/APG-68. The main thing I noticed is that PRF makes very little difference in the JF, while it is a massive difference for the US fighters.
-
If it is overperforming it should be tuned down, the question is if it is overperforming. After 2.7 someone compared the radar ranges: qw96wzj4x7t61.png (1554×840) (redd.it) JF-17 Avionics | JF-17 Thunder No idea how accurate it is, but it is good enough for wikipedia as a source, and I am in no position to question it. For a 5m^2 target it lists >105km (~57nm) in look up (no idea if co-altitude would be considered look up) mode. For a 5.5m^2 SU-27 the test lists a lock range of 66nm (~122km). So roughly 20% longer for a 10% bigger target.

I just love how there is no clear line in DCS. The F-16 is regularly flown with fantasy loadouts that would never see active service. At the same time ED removed the option to mount single (!) 120s without the dual-rails. Deka meanwhile is super conservative and actively removed weapons from certain pylons. The Mig-21 is a "franken-modell", as players like to call it, but almost no one seems to mind. DCS just is super inconsistent in the aspect of weapons.
-
Is flyover the only way, or can it (in the future) be updated via a designation, so through the targeting pod or AG radar?
-
Any chance this could be a thing in DCS?
SuumCuique replied to IcedVenom's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Even the low regions are in the 1000-2000m range, except a tiny part in the north. Maybe someone did it once, even if it is a pretty objectively terrible idea. If it was often done or soviet doctrine, I would see a point in adding this function. If you really want something like this, a normal FARP does the job. -
What about the LS-6-100 and 250?
-
After the screen turns black you can move the TDC a tiny bit and press designate again, it starts rendering the new image. But it is super buggy and the TDC position does not correspond with what you target, making it functionally worthless.
-
Both is referring to both maps in the JF-17 right now, the "NATO" one and the one that is mainly blue. The KA-50 itself has a map that looks exactly like the F10 map and is the only map in the game that is easy to read.
-
Would it be possible to get the same chart as the KA-50, the one that looks like the F-10 map?
-
That is just a normal FARP, being quickly established with additional helicopters. The other is a helicopter landing in the middle of - hopefully safe - nowhere and getting reloaded by its own crew without any protection. The former is reasonable, the later sounds like really bad idea.

Why are these silly?

Gun-turret... nothing else... just a gun-turret... no turret - no buy :-)
SuumCuique replied to -Mop-'s topic in Wish List
There are no other missions than killing in DCS. Suppression is not a thing. Either a gun can kill APCs, Trucks, and other light vehicles or it is borderline useless. The 30mm will be significantly more useful in the context of DCS than a machine gun could ever hope to be. -
Transfer mark points (designation points) to Steerpoints for CM-802AKG
SuumCuique replied to TJTAS's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Yes. Go into the DST page, copy the mark point and paste it into row 30-35. -
No I can't. I also must have overlooked your earlier answers. If you say that it is not a valid loadout then I accept that.
-
I have probably asked about the Mk.20s and Snakeeyes half a dozen times now. For some reason Deka refuses to answer this, in my opinion, very simple question. If they would come out and say no, those bombs can't be loaded or dropped from the inner pylons, like they did with the BRMs or dual ejectors, then at least we would have an answer.
-
Will Mk.20 cluster bombs and Mk.82 snakeeye retarded bombs be added to the inner pylons of the JF-17?

They are preloaded via the DTC, they can not be changed in flight. DST 59 is changeable. What you could do is edit the values of DST 59 to the airport you are trying to land at.
