  1. I can understand the decision, it is the only sane business minded way of getting the game out. I would fear loosing some sales if I was ED. Still nuff said about that. I will be studying manuals as they get released, and I have my hands full getting a store ready for the x-mas shopping Staffan
  2. Wags did mention that ED would offer russian version for download on or soon after the 17th, so me and many here think it will be available, still it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong Staffan
  3. Good image, and a nice landing... Good find Skipper Staffan
  4. Sorry for the OT. Thanks Concrete, I think I'll get it anyhow. I'll propably also get the russian DL of BS... just to stress myself out. Staffan
  5. Concrete, Is it any good?, I've seen some movies from SimHq and I've got the Demo Staffan
  6. I know, she also shares my passion for scale models (actually both of us are working on KA-50's at the moment, hers from Italeri, mine from Zvezda). I'll never complain. Staffan
  7. I agree Skipper, Still there are other cool stuff around, I will propably be getting T-34 vs Tiger aswell, just to keep me busy. and my wife still wants to get into some dogfighting in IL-2. I think I'm fairly lucky that I have very diverse interests. Staffan
  8. Unfortunately not, still no plans for an F-14 sim, I take what I can get, and try to enjoy myself. Staffan
  9. I agree completelywhat is a few months compared to the years we have waited, besides I think it's wrong to start bitching and moaning when there finally is a new super detailed simulation out. This is a niche games that requires a lot more work than the annual releases like the EA Sports series (Not demeaning it I play Madden like a sucker). Staffan
  10. What Kuky said. Spend the time catching up on the Producers notes, the SimHq videos or maybe even *ghasp* read a book. I won't lose any sleep waiting for Black Shark, I have plenty of stuff to do, but I will eagerly await the game, life is too short to take delays personally, just my $.02 Staffan
  11. I guess it is a fairly reasonable business decision, the russian version is meant for the russian market, not the western market. I wouldn't take it too seriously pagadi-zaiet. Staffan
  12. I'd be surprised if the DL version is released today.... pleasantly surprised but still surprised. I'm thinking about getting it but it is price dependent, I'd still get the western version when it is released, which in my calculations at the very earliest will be mid to late december, but way more likely January/February -09 Staffan
  13. Thank you yeepeekai much appreciated! Staffan
  14. No worries Skipper, I might have been a bit fast on the response, my apologies!. Yeah still it does depend on the issue of distribution. I even tried getting our multimedia director to try and sell DCS: BS but he declined , too much of a niche product so I got told off, and kinda laughed at aswell. Too bad simulations aren't taken seriously. Staffan
  15. Skipper I'm not, merely comparing with russian price, first off danish customs takes 4,5 % then you have a standard sales tax on all consumer goods here 25% and you have to take into account the price of distribution and such (I sell games for a living) I was just impressed by the price. Staffan
  16. That's just 77,62 danish Kroner, and the price for a normal game in denmark is usually from 299,95 Kroner... I suspect the western release will be somewhat more expensive, at least I'd gladly pay the usual retail game price for it. Staffan
  17. Showed it to my wife yesterday, she's now intent on getting a copy aswell, hope to get her turned to the dark side of realism and hardcore simulation. Staffan
  18. I'd love to see the F-14... but considering the dark clouds of secrecy concerning it still I'd never get my hopes up for it, I'd rather be happily surprised Staffan
  19. I'd like to be able to practice procedures and maybe even be allowed to use a limited arsenal on very few targets, maybe limit loadout to Vikhr and S-80s and the targets to some trucks and humVee's ample opportunities to train but plenty of openings so one would want the real game Staffan
  20. Hows your moisture damage insurance GG... Looks like you could risk some flooded basement issues!! Staffan
  21. I have favourites among the aircraft aswell, but I will be buying every module that comes along, if not for everything else then to support any future development. Also I'm not presompteous enough to say that I won't try something, I'll try anything at least once.. (still I might get back someday and eat my words followed by a huge humility pie) Staffan
  22. OT I know... I just hope that some of those that buys it next week will have the decency to show off some screens.. Staffan
  23. I'll definetely get Black Shark, I've always liked helicopter games, and I've never been dissapointed by ED. I do look forward to other modules, but the sheer complexity means that I at least will have my hands full getting to grips with this one. Staffan
  24. I'll get the manual and the Demo then wait for the western release.. maybe I'll even manage to finish my 1:72nd scale Zvezda KA-50. Staffan
  25. From what I understood when I had a lecture by the danish PEGI rep, the PEGI board (europe -Germany, that has their own system) will make an estimate of the product then all the member countries have a period in which they can make changes to it, short story is, harshest comments win, which is a bit sad here in Denmark where we have no laws on the subject, PEGI is just a service, I won't get canned if I sell something like GTA IV to a 5 year old kid. but in other countries PEGI is gospel, they have laws on the matter and any publisher selling anything without a grading could end up in serious trouble. I think that ED would have been more pleased if no legislation existed but rules are rules. Which reminds me I have to attend a huge EA party tomorrow.... mmm Free Beer Staffan
