I'm still saddened by the loss our our submarine service here in Denmark, a typical political decision to save money, and very shortsighted IMO. She sure looks beautiful! Staffan

TKMR, there will in all propability be keyboard strokes for the idle and cutoff positions, if you won't be able to just click them with your mouse... Regarding pedals it is a lot easier to use those for rudder than the twist grip on the X52 (I have a CH setop and my wife has the X52) and I have difficulties with it compared to the pedals. I also preordered the TM Warthog so I'm going to mix 'n' match with the CH pedals. Staffan

Me personally I'd stay clear of any helo and let the fast movers take care of them, if I spend two minutes chasing one in an A-10 that takes fuel and loiter time away from my real mission, that's a no go! Staffan
-
Great teaser (as one would expect) brilliant work GA.
-
No it is just simulated to assist you in attacking, DCS A-10 will be a simulation of well... erm the A-10. Staffan
-
Yeah I know, but I would like for the player to be the FAC and from what I have been reading it is the JTAC that is simulated. Staffan
-
Would like the possiblílity to play FAC for some fastmovers, putting the O back in the A-10. Definetely just a dream, and it would be a lot more feasible with some playable fast jet asset, maybe something for the future. Staffan

Mower, I can only respect someone that stands by tehre concictioins, welcome aboard.... Staffan
-
I could be a minority here, but if you need to comment on other menbers could it be kept to PM's please, so what if Mower stated he didn't like something in the past, who cares this is the present that is what matters! Staffan

Nope preorders are still active, it could be the wrong weight they quoted for postage (a little more than a pound) or they could have sold all they could get. I have no idea what the reason is, but my preorder stands and it will be shipped on Oct. 28th or 29th according to the mail I received. Staffan
-
Noone said that the preorders were cancelled, mine stands aswell. However there was an email stating that it won't be out untill early November. Staffan

LawnDart, I agree completely, I could have been a bit to fast on the trigger, but my comment was just meant in a constructive way. Being a CH person up untill I preordered this Purdy stuff, I'm used to hight price, actually the Warthog will just cost me the equivalent of 2 cases of beer more than the Pro Throttle and the Fighterstic, which have naver given me any grief. My primary reason for getting the TM stuff is the dual throttle and the ease of configuration for DCS, and off course for the VRS F/A-18E where I really miss a dual throttle assembly. Staffan

Lawndart according to the TM website: this is a copy & paste... Authentication confirmed of acquisition parameters at €399 following the prescribed plan of action. Price on Amazon.co.uk (untill it was removed) about £360 (For a danish costumor) So there is plenty of opportunity to make assesments, but as you said no MSRP for the US. Staffan

The CH is not for the general audience it is for military costumors. Debby from CH stated that there will be no new sticks for the general market from CH this year. That swayed me for the TM stuff, with regard to being biased, I strongly believe that SimHq wouldn't do a whitepaper for any company (Look at the Whirlwind over Vietnam review), just because someone gets a preview copy of something doesn't mean that the person testing it will be thrilled. I also have no doubt that Matt and several others here would not hesitate to comment on any issue with such a HOTAS. I'm kinda stunned that some people pull the fanboi card... Thrustmaster (Or rather Guillemot entertainment) is a privately owned company, the owners or shareholders are offcourse interested in making a profit and also covering R&D + manufactoring costs, this would include salaries for staff and the likes, that requires a steady cashflow. also many compare it directly to the Cougar, thats ok I guess as long as the ones doing that remembers that the Cougar is a single throttle previous gen joystick.... (Warning bad analogy coming)... Hell a Mosquito can't be more expensive that a Spitfire they both use the Merlin engine! Apples and oranges Staffan

I sure can't find it at Amazon.co.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrustmaster-Hotas-Warthog-Joystick-Throttle/dp/B00371R8P4/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_2 Staffan

Wags I was given a brief rundown on the TM Warthog by Steve Davies and he was also very positive (I asked about a comparison to the CH gear that I use now) I preordered it from the recommendations here and the articles at SimHq. BTW welcome back, hope you're well Matt! Staffan

sweinhart3 It appears that it has been pulled from the website, I guess the delay before release is too long, or it dawned on them that they will lose some money for postage with these first orders where the weight were set at 599 grams, and not 14 lbs. Staffan

Frim what I have heard the speculation is September, but again that is just rumours so don't take that as more than hearsay. Staffan

Price isn't that bad, I recently saw a HOTAS Cougar for the price of 3250 dkr in a store here, and I have to shell out 3267 dkr for the Warthog... I payed 3000 for the CH fighterstick and pro throttle so I can't see any issues with the price, I think when it hit the danish shelves it will be in excess og 4000 dkr. Also I'm not building a home cockpit I just want a durable stick with plenty of functions, the added bonus that DCS: A-10C will just recognice the stick and configure accordingly is a huge plus. Staffan

Just preordered mine, also looking forward to flying the VRS F/A-18E with it. Staffan
-
Still cheaper than what I had to fork out for my CH gear.. I'm going to get this, but just need to balance my CC's. Staffan
-
I think what was meant with stabilize was that first stage pull of trigger stabilizes the plane to assist in aiming, you can fire the GAU-8 in any attitude, Andy Bush at SimHq did mention back when Lock On was released that they did practice gun employment nad BFM with it. Staffan

I think I need to adress one thing noone here seems to thnink about, and it is the most essentiel thing... Revenue, if you release anything via Steam Valve would like to get their hand in the cookiejar and rightfully so, I think ED would like to make all the profit they can in the first period after release, and that can only be done if they are the sole distributor. This is a niche market and even if Valve's revenue is just 10% which is very hard to believe it is a loss that could hurt ED. Staffan
-
I can only agree with what EtherealN said about GPU porwe needed for ED sims, I know that MSFS is a different beast but again FSX doesn't have to make computations for projectiles, missiles and artillery, ED's sims does that, and it requires quite a bit of CPU power to operate fluently. Again it is to early to speculate, wait until release is closer. Then I think all will be revealed Staffan

Thanks Jim, good to know Staffan
