Yes its definitely the full control head. I had an unverified thought regarding the two radio/1 head question. It is possible the arc-210 can monitor with one radio and monitor+transmit on the other, so still be 1 mic switch but two radios. So time will have to tell.

Look mummy, there's an aero plane up in the sky
Puma replied to GuardDog's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Yah I would be surprised if lights have any effect on detection or sam acquisition in DCS, but for the depth of simulation I always go dark during fencing in (unless on training scenarios or bad visibility where deconflicting is as big a threat as a sam!) -

Look into a “FENCE” check. It is a procedure followed when entering and exiting combat areas, and includes considering all lighting and emitters that might compromise your position. It is a concept, but many good checklist or ops manuals will have a list of recommended actions. -
Speculation alert: I believe I saw the new hotas commands and the mic switch still listed on three PTT positions, so that is awesome to know IRL, I would be surprised if we get the dual arc-210 radios.

After trimming, how quickly does it depart straight and level? Without a fly by wire, it’s usually impossible to trim the A-10 for prolonged “hands off”. You should, however, but able to trim so that only small deflections from center are required every few seconds. Confirm that your SAS channels are all engaged properly, and that you don’t have any duplicate bindings to any of your flight control axis.

Yah. I may “cheat” with the single hmcs switch and just re label something unused. I’m pretty torn about the arc-210. I hesitate to remove my vhf-am until I’m confident I’m only going to use the v2. Old campaigns will not work so either a find a way to make enough room to keep them both, or hack up my arc-210 so it can function as the vhf-am in v1 missions. I’m actually kinda glad they deferred the arc-210 so I can figure it out. My temporary plan is to implement the arc-210 in software on the tablet that is my cdu until dust has settled and I can commit to the hardware changes.

The blank in Wags video is not big enough for the Arc-210. The arc-210 will replace the blank and the old vhf-am. See around 29:00 mark of this video:

It will have the uhf even after the arc-210 is complete. The arc-210 is replacing the vhf-am slot. Data sheet here. A-10 will have the full sized remote control head: http://jproc.ca/rrp/rrp3/sea_king_arc210.pdf

Fingers crossed you are right. My guess is that you are. I assume you meant TISL not ILS? I haven’t gotten through all the latest news!

And to elaborate a little, the direct line between the sensor (tgp) and the target. It’s relevant in tgp conversations because of the LOS passes through your aircraft, the target is masked. It’s also commonly used in BFM to describe how an opponent is moving relate to a fixed point on your canopy. Technically LOS rate in that context, but its said “LOS aft” if moving towards your rear half. For a good intro to that term.

Where are you mounting the mk-82s? Stations 5 and 7 cannot release in pairs, so you might be bumping into a similar restriction based on station or rack restrictions.

Great. The NAV button on the cdu is just a menu page selection, so fee free to use other modes on the cdu (offset, flight plan, etc). That was unlikely the key. Now the EGI on the other hand is very important. The default source of position info is the legacy HARS (Heading, attitude reference system... notice no “altitude”). EGI is a blend of GPS and INS, and both can provide accurate elevation. The option to not use EGI is an emergency option that TBH I have never used at all. Standard startup, once the cdu says ins is aligned, select EGI on the NMSP and you won’t need to reset anything. A good checklist is highly recommended for startups. Cheers, enjoy the A-10!
-
I’m assuming thats an abbreviation for “no elevation”. Did you do “load all” on the mfcd during startup? If you are missing the elevation database that could cause trouble.

My controller setup is highly dependant on export data. Mostly through dcs-bios and the remainder through helios. Is it possible to get an official opinion on how different a-10c 2s exports will be? Obviously arc-210 will be all new, and the jhmcs power switch. Is it fair to expect everything else to be identical? Similar? All new?? Anyone speculating based on blackshark or other modules advancement is welcome too. Exciting times!!

you are correct, the crossover linkage explains activation of pitch and roll controls when left system only is pressurized. Page 1-24 of the TO 1A states “an APU hydraulic pump can be activated FOR GROUND USE ONLY”, so I think its safe to assume that L only/off/R only switch is in a maintenance panel. Good follow up; sorry my initial answer was wrong!

[FIXED] HUD: A picture is worth a thousand words?
Puma replied to randomTOTEN's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
No Buzz. The 2D hud is slightly larger than it should be, so to see the extreme edges of the hud (which often have critical info), you need to offset your view a little. If you are a track ir user and have all six acis bound properly, it’s only a minor inconvenience as you can move your head to do so. Without trackir its a more significant challenge. -
Does your right hydraulic system have pressure? Checkout the hydraulic diagram below. Between the accumultors and apu there are other ways to pressurize the right system without the right engine running.

1.5-2 mi is the short answer imo. The computed range pipper is your friend for ranging, so trust it. I don’t think that “how far can it shoot” is exactly the right question. I’m sure the shell would travel for miles, but it would loose significant velocity even at 1.5 mi, and become ineffective against any hardened targets. Dcs manual advertises combat mix being capable of destroying a tank up to 21,600ft so a little over 3.5 nm? I think you'd have a hard time recreating that in dcs.
-
I’m torn by your question. In a computer science way, asking if DCS allows an maverick missile to be effective as A2A: I’m intrigued; it may be possible, but at best you are hacking the system. If realistic combat scenario: hard no. A-10s would avoid air to air whenever possible. They are well equipped to defend themselves when provoked but not with Mavs. When in doubt, listen to @Stuka :)

Fwiw, I flew 2h09m in nttr and on inbound my sai was still level.
-
If removing The mod doesn’t fix it, consider deleting the shader cache and failing that, a full dcs repair. It’s true DCS is struggling with brightness and contrast throughout the modules, and as they tweak or improve one thing it can affect others. So its hard to say conclusively unless someone has flown that exact mission in the current version, but all things considered, to me, it sounds like a glitch in your setup.

[REPORTED] A10 CCIP target elevation feed (Possible bug)
Puma replied to Theduncanizer's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Sounds like a solid analysis. I recommend you collect some evidence (video or trk file) and post to the bugs channel to see if ED will acknowledge.
