Let me please just add my thanks for these and also for the poor and downtrodden who are missing this opportunity or dont know how. These are already a significant amount of tracks that SHOULD BE VIEWED not only to those who want to maintain 4 lock on installs on thier comp. I mean I get it but these are great and nice to review. Not to mention new players are missing older tracks etc etc. What say you guys ?????? Rich I have emailed you a couple times about doing this, could it be possible ? Im no video making genius. I have tried useing the program Camtasia by Techsmith and the frame rates are just too bad. Maybe its better now on a 939 system,but still with the fact that everyone loves these and ED approves cant something be done to distribute them in a divx or movie format so that we can view them at will with out any concerns to game versions? This seems important to me and to a game base that we all want to see grow. If this isnt possible for you Rich maybe someone can get the authority to movie-nize the tracks and make them available????????? I have some friends, we like pc games , maybe ill run into someone interested in this game and wouldnt it be great to hand them these training tracks in a movie format so they can more quickly "get it" and be in air at least? Computer upgrades, software, profiles and options is work by itself for many :) Time is money for many and I can assure you id be willing to throw a significant amout down for this convenience. thanks again, cheers EM

i dont know i tried those drivers and in fear i noticed i had to turn down af from 4 to 2 so far i havent seen any neg affects in lock on but fear and lock on are a different story

no i havent but my post still remains true. I expect it was some crap they thown in for 7800 series that screwed it up for me. Like always different hardware configs can produce diff results. anyway these are my results.

Do not use the nvidia drivers above 78.01 for any 6600 series nvidia card. Not sure if 6800 series is affected. Sometimes game will play great and sometimes what you see on your monitor will be symtoms of a defective video card! Will only occur in lock on game. So far FEAR is on this box and it worked great, going back to 78.01 fixed my problems.

well i just finished installing a new motherboard and a total reinstall of this game. Installed cd then flaming cliffs , movie pack , seasonal pack DEFRAGGED, then started my stop watch, went to this website and found my key copyed it and clicked on the lock on fc icon , chose auto activation , inserted my key and boom im done. I never saw anything bad about starforce with my last config and dont expect anything now, plus I think ED provides a tool to later remove it SF if you want. Buy the game I would. YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CONCERN. Dont install the brand new patch for flaming cliffs, it will break some of the training missions and those you need to run. However you could install the patch and just uninstall it from windows if you wana go back and run training. So forget about the patchs to lock on, just buy or dl flaming cliffs and you will be good to go.

OUTSTANDING EAGLE DYNAMICS. Got new mb in msi neo platinum with xp3200 venice in me box. So far i got xp pro loaded and the game in went to website and got my key from my previous dl of FC. Clicked auto activate and boom all done plus I got many activations left.

I aggree with Force F on this one. When I play or used to play ghost recon in a clan I would and still say this about shooters like that and sure it applies here. "Its not kills that win games its how you do it". I never beat myself up when I get only 2 kills or 11 , its how I did my job with the team or how i played lone wolf. Just my 2 cents, competition is great but isnt this about fun , i dont know. Or maybe I wrote this because i find myself complaining about paying for a cable connection to play whatever game and find myself on too many servers that have too many restrictions and rules. Damn i think im sounding old.

Yeah man this is my second attempt or program that i have treid , im sticking with this one just like alot of people are. http://www.dwvac.com/ they even have a flaming cliffs profile for it. In my case im going to have to put in my own voice so it recognizes me, because after going through the process of getting the program to learn your voice I couldnt get it to do anything but when I pick a command and read the line, save and then close it ....it works perfectly. Im still new with it , takes time to set up so be patient. lol Yeah I wouldnt worry anout the style of the stick , it looks great at home or turn off the led if ya want all my friends think its cool. Besides it sits next to a black case with 3 acrylic windows and with blue lights inside and stuff. Add speaker lights modem lights and what ever else and I can say my desk table looks like a a Disco bar!!!!! LOL

ok tallyho :) , check out the reviews they dont lie as far as i can tell , the whole thing is smoother period. Profiles on the lcd , and as i said before plus the sensors in the stick as alot better technology when they are working, my rudder sensor flaked out on my but they are taking care of it support is awsome so far. Condor :) look up some reviews , to lock the rudder there is a button on the side of the stick [physical lock]. You just push it into place. Since i have never locked it I cant say anymore.

Thank you weta 43 thats exactley what i was hoping to learn , i have been out of the loop for a bit. My x52 is on the way back from siatek [ rudder sensor flaked] and im about to install a new motherboard. yeah really when are the a10 f15 fighters happy lol You know one good thing about still being a beginner is I dont find myself discussing intricate missle behavior or the like. AS long as its fun and real like, they hey i am enjoying myself but then again we all have wants sometimes dont we :) cheers

the x52 is so much better, and for someone new to flight sims like me...having the rudder on the joystick really helps untill you wana go get pedals. Only thing I miss is being able to zoom in an out after hitting f2 for external view , I still havent figured out how to get that to work. Cockpit zoom , no problem.

yes Tucson thanks I hope we all know that now. Now does anyone else want to comment on observations made when actually installing the patch? ESP with a windows xp 64 bit OS, anything else negative about it. The installer is cool good on ED thank you!

Im not much concerned about a wish list for this patch besides that thread is at the top but what are the consequences of installing it. Did it make your 64 bit system run the game better? Training missions broken?

I honestly cant see much of an improvement for LOCK ON useing esp 2 7800 gtx cards. One gtx should be good enough. Esp since that graphics in this game really just seem to ask for power , performance, not a bunch of fancy video card tricks and tech. know what I mean? From what I read alot of people are having problems with it, and just like the poster above they are going with a gtx card or similar and forgetting about SLI for now. Untill ATI can even have a smooth SLI solution and many game makers are making stuff that greatly benifits from it then ofcourse why use it?

thats very true , but in my case , my x52 has 64 bit drivers and now lockon is going to support 64 bit speed. When I build anything, if its a Harley or a computer I prefer to want components to match to first be stable and then perform. Alot has happen, 64 bit os has been out for awhile, there is no need to totally fear trying to get it to work now. However we had alot of people loseing alot of things back when windows xp came out, and ill say I do suggest waiting for at least the first service pack when it comes to this but I know what im doing , may as well give it a shot :) Its not really driver less at this time but for sure you can run into printer problems and other mutlimedia stuff , Im not waiting for vista. Im going to load it in and try to blow it up. Really wish we could get some experienced observations here.

I still dont know how to fly everything and would still APPRECIATE traing movies done with voice that go into detail about things such as Ironhands stuff. I asked him if he would consider recording them in divx format and selling them but didnt get a reply, maybe there is legal stuff about doing that but it looks like alot of people that record movies. Its also a bit frustrating about movies and traing think not being able to work with new patchs or releases. But I understand why. Thats why to me a releasable collection of movies that would play in anything in regards to training for 1.1 FC at least would be great. Record them put them on a disk for sale or allow us to dl the movies and burn to cd. PLEASE

WEll since the patch has hit with 64 bit support we may aas well think about running windows 64 . I wonder what the advantages we will get useing the 64 bit OS. Seems that now lock on runs 64 bit with the new patch there should be a significant increase in performance. Im willing to load it up and see what happens but i dont think my printer will survive with a 64 bit OS. Whats has windows xp 64 done for you ...........esp anyone able to tell us how the new patch has affected 64 bit OS systems????
