AMD brother you already have the platform , the x850 xt is old news I traded my 6600 gt for a 7800 gs. Seems I have been buying a new video card every 12 months. Worth it to me. although if Lock on primary concern I think I might been happy with a 6800gs. 256 mb Still it would be great to at least see some beta testers or an official statemnt from ED lay down some hardware recommendations for Black Shark. ESP. video card expectations. I mean I think a 6800 gs could handle it but what is overkill ? :)

yes there are some people trying a class action lawsuit. Even if they won you might get 3 dollars. Paypal was sued will a CAL and I think I got 10 dollars or something. I still just stikcing with the overcast fps mod and the water fps mod from hawg11 . I really dont want to mess with those files any more than that. These 2 mods can really make things fly. Ofcourse with good hardware too. pm me your email if you want me to email them to you , they are small.

thanks , yes did a test with a show track and yes at some points my FPS are 2 times as fast then at 768 res. Also got alot of cpu dips meaning that the cpu wasnt solid 100% all of the time. Looks like its a new 256 bit bus card for me and hopefully the cpu can hang in there till Christmas. cheers

Maybe I can take some pressure off my cpu if I go 7800 gs ????????? I just hate to later be drooling for a x2 chip out of pure need and have a 7800gs in my box. Maybe I should go 6800 gs and look for another cpu upgrade maybe a 3800 x2 . I have some other info to put here and will later in regards to these video cards and lock on.

Man your right !!!!!!! The technicals have to be considered here and thats why I think new AFM is just an over the top request. What is lost with alot of people that want stuff and build stuff is an understanding of how all of the components in any build of anything needs to match to be optimized with everything......think about it. As a mechanic I know this. I cant stick a hot cam in my Harley and not feed it enough fuel. I cant put NOS on a 1936 Harley flathead and expect it to last! Some might think as I do that I need a new video card in my box !!!!!!!

Well I voted and since so many opinions going around I might add this. I am looking very much forward to the Black Shark. For me, its another first....in the way that I always admired the flight sims but it was Lock on that made me jump in. Even though its been bumpy as hell its the best out there. So Black Shark will be my first chopper sim. I think BS will be the best out there too. I think its going to offer a first time or a vet chopper pilot something that is totally new and WORTH playing. Thats what makes gaming companys succesful. Look at what Blizzard entertainment did..... Anyways I thought Id throw in a first time comment about Black Shark as I have always wanted to fly a chopper too I think this is going to be cool. The quality and talent behind it all won my sincere appreciation. Cheers!!!

SOme 3200 venice cores have been dying due to high overclocks. I prefer to stick with the 10 x divider and stick with 250 for a perfect htt 4 x 250=1000 4 x 260 puts you over the 1000 ht limit and thats not cool. All this 9 x 280 crap doesnt sit well with me. Its not proper and nothing much is achieved other than a hot cpu, and a out of wack HTT, plus you would really want a 183 divider for the memory to keep it in check at around 500 ddr.

Personally I know all of this as I work at an office systems dealer for many years now. This post was started as a note of these observations but more importantly in responce to some users who claim to be in dll hell with service pack two. Since its now obvious to me that service pack 2 isnt screwing with Lock on i decided to use it. I can live with out M$ spyware program and firewall. Actually im very comfortable with Sygate professional firewall, the rest is indeed for the sheep . Yes xp wll be supported, windows 98 hot fix ends in march. Im sure XP will get some attention BUT I think its really cheep and petty of M$ to cut off support for simple users of XP that have olders boxs that may not even be able to load XP sp2 . WE can all sit back with our 1 k - 2k $$$$ comps and work any software but there are alot of computers out there with old bios in them that do not support sp2. So service pack two isnt all that and a bag of chips for alot of people in alot of ways. My main gripe I have is the stupid automatic updates. Soon im going to look into killing the notification i get for it being shut down.

Norton is the caddilac and its wise to shut down autoo protect before flying. Norton 2003 does not require activation like 2005 does so if you can find it bundeled with someones computer or if soomeone has bought it you can use that on a new install as many times as you want. The new corporate 10 version does not require activation either so to speak, but you need to be connected like me to get a hold of that.

As a power user I can assure that if you had the money you would want a dual core. I have seen a couple power users go crazy over the upgrade. One was so impressed he even demanded that now his wife and kids would only work on a dual core box of thier own from now on...........
