The issue appears with new missions , apparently. It was working fine, and probably old missions are fine too, but on mission created under the last version, I can't for the sake of me reproduce the previous behavior of being able to have multiple client slot over the same parking spot
-
Confirmed, since last update, when creating a mission from scratch with new Carrier and ships, you are limited to 4 slots per Carrier per slot type (Ramp & runway)

If I may ask again, Andre :) Is it a definitive out of stock for Kw-908, or can I wait for a restock? If definitive, I guess the best choice for flightsim would be Kw-901 and not Race edition, despite the 2 motors less, because of placement of motors?

Written stuff has advantages video won't ever overcome, like the ability to go search for missing information few lines or paragraphs before, instant. If you missed a point on a previous sentence, getting the info back is a matter of seconds, and being written, your eyes have seen it, you know it's there, somewhere around previous page, for example. I keep missing important stuff and have to re-watch entire sequences of videos pretty often, not knowing where the missing info is. You typically see in videos the check lists and such being enumerated on a corner of the screen. This kind of stuff is better suited for written media. Video is not the answer for everything.

If there is an amazing feature of the Tomcat that would explain the performance tax, then ok. Otherwise, this kind of argument is silly, and performance drop is due to poor optimization. Other modules achieve correct performances, including modern ones that have high fidelity systems, which could cause performance issues. Jester, maybe, is performance taxing? Anyway, saying "it's new, so it requires more power" is just a lazy way to hide potential optimization issue. Useless argument.

:( Sadness :( So the only option left now is KW-901. That's forever? Is there a big difference?

Looks like the 908 is out of stock, only 901 available. Am I mistaken?

And just like that my F14 career is over....
Whisper replied to Andysim212's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
+100 I've been a AAR dumbo since beginning of my virtual career on Falcon4 last millenium, completely unable to do a proper AAR in any sim I attempted it. Since a few months, now, I can do it rather easily. Difference being that I now fly with an extended, centered , T50 stick, and in VR. It changed everything. It's amazing how proper hardware smoothen up things! -
Can we get the manual PDF posted somewhere else?

Tsssk tsssk tsssk !!! :P :P Worldwide productivity in a downward spiral, thank you, Heatblur!! -
Not the worst performance in VR (I think the Gazelle ou Mig21 have that title), but not the best, It's rather performance heavy, though I've made zero optimization yet, will do tonight (like clearing shader cache). I've not done RIO job, only pilot. The TACAN readout is far too small, that makes it unuseable form the pilot cockpit, but your RIO is there for that. Hopefully the TACAN is more readable on the RIO pit. There are some information written in little caracters, like the state of the Wing Sweep system (manual or auto), they need you to either zoom or close up on the readout. But most of them are text in fixed place, which means once you know the pit, you don't need to read the text, just know where the text is (ie, for the Wing Sweep system state, the "auto" state is writtent above the "manual" state, so seeing that the text is "rather on top" makes you know you are in auto mode). Some other are badly written due to the worn state of the cockpit (like if I remember well, the ICS switch, the "Hot Mic" is kinda unreadable). Last, I have a general "problem" in DCS in that the feeling of speed is rather absent. I feel it's worse with the Tomcat, I've ended up in a slow turnfight with a Fulcrum without realizing I had gone that slow. Ended up with my RIO kissing his seat goobye and me feet wet in the ocean :D But it's just from 1 flight Other than that, that bird is love in VR.

Yup, comms is lacking, even though Hiromashi is there

Awww, yeah? Second post of this very thread : So, what it is? Since last update? Since last year? Are you talking about the same thing? A corrected bug that has reappeared after correction? You don't seem to know what can happen under ED engine. ED can make changes to the engine (and they do it all the time) that will break working things in a module years after it has been released. It thus requires constant monitoring from the team making the module to fix it afterwards. For months and years, when the module is wayyy past the period where it generates revenue. Yup, add "M3 is only doing this as a side job" + "ED can make changes to the engine (and they do it all the time) that will break working things in a module years after it has been released" == "5 years now and its still limping along" Blaming it only on the first part of the equation .... well, that's your call... They are 2 to tango, and franckly, ED sets the tone. Without the constant changes, that bug wouldn't have reappeared, as well as many things that have been corrected on the Mig21, and thus the module would be in a shape worth the current price. So, all the fault on "team that do it on side job"?

already possible I won't comment on th rest, would not be constructive

Andy answered in his post : That's regardless of simple or advanced comms settings used

I'm probably too dense to get it right, but that is also the conclusion I have. VOR/TACAN gives no bearing information in the CC (unlike in EB where you don't need an NDB to have the TACAN bearing), so it is required to tune ADF to outer or inner NDB of airfield, if you're lucky to have some, push the bearing select button to have the indicator pointed toward the NDB, change HSI Heading to this position, change Course on HSI to airfield landing direction, and.... Well, after that I'm completely unable to command any NAV, APR or VOR APR mode (buttons are inoperative), so I missed smtg in the docs, not talking about taking advantage of the ILS listed in CC features, since GS Mode seems to have disappeared. Training missions are made for EB which doesn't work the same way , unfortunately, and I can't find for the life of me where in the docs can I see how to feed the system with correct bearing information. The inactive nav modes tell me I'm missing something pretty important. I'm a liiiiiiitle lost here :)

Hu? I don't feel things "so difficult" in DCS 109 or Spit take-off..... It feels perfectly fine to me, tbh, difficulty wise. And I'm no super duper expert , but it's been a loooooong time since I borked a take-off in these birds. I think the hardware used by us virtual pilots plays a huge role in these cases. We get over the limitations of the simulations tool we have by practicing easily without dying. IRL, there is many more "feedback" for the pilot that make these type of handling way easier, natural. Since I moved to VR, and to a far better stick / rudder combo, it has made everything so smoother for handling the birds. And it's only giving a bit better feedback , a bit closer to what you get IRL. But I can anticipate the bird going wrong far better during take-off run, it's suddenly pretty easy and natural. I think your hardware plays a big role in how easy you feel the thing is, and how much you need to practice to get the muscle memory (which kinda replaces much of what feedback is missing) right.

Thanks!

AlphaOneSix has put many hours into describing various systems of the Mi8 at length. His docs are invaluable, I suggest you look them up, I couldn't find a central repository for them, search for threads with title "How it works" in the Mi8 section , like this one : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=151326 Thanks again AlphaOneSix!

On manual start, left engine only rising to 20% RPM
Whisper replied to D4n's topic in Bugs and Problems
And these two levers can be put in the forward position both before actually starting the engines, after APU is started, for example -
Unfortunately, we can make all wish list we want, if that's not their priority (sad when you see what the engine can do for choppers :( ) , it's not going to happen. F16 means more $$, simple. But a AH64A (I don't dare ask for D) would be absolute instant buy from me. I can't stress it enough. I would even start a Matt Wagner Worship cult. Same with Lynx, or some naval ops helicopter (Helix, Seaking, Super Frelon) Now if you excuse me, I'm back to sleep in my Mi8 cabin :)

Rotaries are one of the strongest points of DCS, it's where DCS beats ANYTHING in comparison. There could be so much interesting to be added, but... F16. Meh. Pretty much a F18 without Carrier Ops :( Kinda logical in terms of efforts versus $$ for ED, but I can't help feeling disapointed. I'll probably pass on the Falcon, tbh

That's adding a bit of work when you copy unit information from existing template. Gonna see what can be done -
C'mon , Boris, I can find you many manly words with feminine gender, an axe is feminine in my tongue... ;) The usage of a "she" to depict a vessel is a long englishmen thingy, even if it feels weird to us, inland euro people. Probably due to their relationship with said vessel.... well, let's not go to deep into details... :D
