correct as-is The textures of the F-16 ICP knobs seem to be wrong
tdk posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
I found that the position marks (painted dark) of the 4 ICP knobs in DCS seem to be wrong. Most public sources show that the length of the dark bar is increasing from up to downward, while the opposite is in DCS. Here are some images (not from any manual but the manuals show the same way) that show the difference. -
Hello, I have noticed since the 2.9 that there is something broken with the ATA. I might use wrong words here but i'll do my best to explain. When having a target at my radars gimbal, around 60 Degrees to the right, the Hud indicating where the target is, how many degrees, it suprasses 70 degress while in reality, according to my radar he is still within 70, more like 60 degrees. it's like this everytime, so it's easy to reproduce. Second problem which is also in the same trackfile, the B scope don't always center it self on the trackfile when using AUTO in TWS, I had DTT ( Dual target track ) and i thought it's something to do with it but when i deleted the second contact so i only had one, the B scope was not In BIAS, still in auto and yet it wasn't center on the target. That one happens but not so often but seen it since 2.9 maybe 4-5 times. it's also in the same trackfile. Thank you. Edit : I can't reproduce the gimbal problem anymore with the ATA. but it was the case with the trackfile and when i watched it it wasn't there anymore B scope .trk

Hello! in Chucks PDF in page 721 he shows how to designate OAP1/2 with TGP. But this not works correctly in the F16. When selecting in the OBS the OA1 and TMS up, the steerpoint moves to the new OA1 and changing the OBS to OA2 it goes totally off the initial steerpoint. CZ doesn't help here. I use this mission to work with with Steerpoint1 kkF16.miz

Can some please coonfirm if the RB-15F missiles have been nerfed intentionally or is a bug? have checked it on multiplayer as well single player missions

correct as-is Radar Detection and Track Ranges
DCS FIGHTER PILOT posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Are these much improved radar detection and tracking ranges indented? As you can see in the track, I am able to successfully detect and lock and F-16 out past 80 nautical miles. This is F-14/F-15 level stuff here. F-18 Detect F-16.trk -
The Updater.exe is launching the MT version now. This means that anyone who manually made a shortcut before for the MT version now has two shortcuts that launch the MT version and no shortcut to launch the ST from. (We now have to do the exact opposite as before and make a shortcut to DCS.exe in the /bin folder for the ST version.) Also noticed that vehicles still don't kick up dirt in MT, but the dust has been restored. Baby steps, I guess. If this was intentional you'd think it would have been worth mention in the Changelog. Also, the MT version still calls itself a "PREVIEW" in the lower left of the main screen. Seems a bit odd to force a "preview" on everyone running the OB (this week's newsletter also literally instructed us to run the OB version, so please don't tell me it's my fault for using the OB, everyone knows it's the de facto release version that 99% of multiplayer servers run). I wasted a bunch of hours on testing between the two before noticing this. It was finally when I saw "GPU Bound" in the frame-rate overlay that I clued in both shortcuts were now launching the same version. Again, some mention of this would have been nice. (Perhaps your internal testers knew but you need to remember, your regular customers don't get spoon fed secrets like they do. You guys seem to get out of touch with what the regular community experience is.) (I didn't put this under Bug Reports as I'm not sure if it's a bug or intentional. Move if appropriate, thanks.)

Hi there, I normally creating waypoints for targets near my steering points ia the CDU Button "?x" and then update the coordinance in my A10c II. Yesterday I was on a multiplayer serer running the Pretense campaign with a lot of pre defined waypoints for eery player (70 + Bullseye). In this scenario I am unable to copy a waypoint to a new one. There is a minus after the question mark and CDU throws an error when I press the OSB button. Image is attached. Does this mean that there is no space left for another waypoint? But there should be >2000 slots aailable (as Bullseye is somewhere around 2040).

correct as-is F/A-18C Automatically locks up unwanted target
TheTrooper posted a topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Hi, I'm having difficulty unlocking a target on my MFD in RWS and TWS. An aircraft will automatically lock something up. Sometimes even a friendly. Doesn't matter what I do I can't break the lock of something I am not interested in. I though Undesignate/NWS button would do that? -
Hi Chuck guide refers that you have to use SEQ to switch between both modes, but in DCS you have to use M-SEL to make it. I believe that Chuck's guide that was wroten in 01/2022 was up to date. has it been changed in DCS after the edition of the guide? Just looked at a video from 2019 and the switching was working with the dobber SEQ action.

Hi everyone!, Surely some other user has already asked about the speed brake issue in this aircraft. I would like to know if the team in charge of the development of the flight models are going to make the speed brake of the F-18 will work like the real one and the aircraft will have a real deceleration, and not the one it has right now, which is quite poor, for not to say embarrassing. Having consulted with several pilots of the real aircraft of the 12th wing in Spain, what they can see in our simulator compared to their plane has nothing to do with it. Please implement a real speed brake in the final version. Thank you so much.

Overall I like the new changes to engine damage model, however I think it needs some tweaking. Especially engine bearings. Currently, if you dive at full RPM you're at a very high risk of damaging engine bearings. I'm guessing it's because of overspeeding the engine and reducing the RPM to 2500 is enough to prevent this but here's why I still think it's a problem (and not accurate): First, I've searched through both the original USAAF Pilot's Flight Operating Instructions and Pilot Training Manual and found no mention of keeping the RPM below max when diving. There is one sentence in the Training Manual about reducing Manifold Pressure to keep the engine from overboosting, but in DCS the bearings get damaged regardless of MP. Surely, if the risk of damaging the engine were so great there would be at least some mention of it. Secondly, it's a common practice, when designing engines that when you know the RPM limit of your engine you give yourself some safety room when placing the limiters. It seems very unlikely that the engineers/designers would setup the max RPM at 2750 RPM if they knew it could break apart at 2800. Especially for a combat aircraft where you know things (like the RPM governor) will get damaged. And yes, during dive and recovery the RPM needle barely moves past the 2750 limit (if at all). Here are the links to the documents I mentioned (they're free if you create an account) https://www.avialogs.com/aircraft-r/republic/item/5091-aaf-51-127-3-pilot-training-manual-for-the-p-47-thunderbolt https://www.avialogs.com/aircraft-r/republic/item/5089-an-01-65bc-1a-pilots-flight-operating-instructions-for-p-47d-25-26-27-28-30-and-35-airplanes P-47 engine main bearing damage.trk

correct as-is HARM in POS EOM mode. Misses target completely
Hoggorm posted a topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Hello, I try to attack a Hawk SAM site in POS EOM mode. I've added the exact coordinates for the Tracking Radar part as a steerpoint and launches when within range. I assume the SAM site turns off its radar from time to time. Anyway, I see that often the missile does not hit anywhere near the steerpoint at all (often it does hit, but then I assume the radar is on?) It can overfly the steerpoint with several thousands of feet. Is this normal? I would expect the missile to hit the radar even if the radar was off if it was located at the steerpoint? Or am I assuming too much? -
After todays OB update the F-16 will not start manually or with auto. The rpm goes up to 24% and stays there like it will not register that you put the throttle to idle position.

"Betty" calls altitude warning even when in landing configuration; Flaps and gear down. I don't think this is how it works in real life. Should be calling altitude measures in feet. You think?

Before actually reporting a bug, I’d like to check if this is something I’m doing wrong. I’m doing the aim120 amraam mission that comes with the f-16. In this mission you first do an stt shot on a single bogey, I. The second part you engage two bogeys and are supposed to fire the first amraam before it becomes active, wait for it Togo active, the. Unlock and target the second bogey and fire a second amraam, and the third part is a mad dog shot on a single target. I noticed that I don’t always get bogeys on my radar. Sometimes the first bogey does not appear, though out of the twenty attempts that happened once, at most twice. The two bogeys on the second part however, often fail to show up, maybe once every two times. now I do rush through the briefing and switch settings before the in flight briefing is finished. And I also noticed that the highlight box for the map range button never goes off. I also notice that if the two bogeys are not within my amraam steering error circle, my radar will not pick them up, which is weird when I use max azimuth and max elevation. I know that this means the radar is slow to refresh and detection is tougher, but it does avoid missing the target due to wrong heading or pitch. In any case I found that I lose locks very quickly in the second part when chasing the two bogeys, and often I have to reacquire a lock. so… since it seems as if I’m not using the radar correctly, I wonder if missing the two bogeys once every two attempts is a flaw with me, or a flaw with the mission. note, sometimes I see them visually right in front of me at 5nm, but my radar still doesn’t see them (this happened twice). Changing radar range did not make a difference in this case, and I could only use the mad dog approach.

Hey, at the new ATFLIR the Point Track Mode does not work. Matt said in his video it's working like in the old Pod, but it won't work. I press the sensor controll switch to right to get the two brackets with the point inside over the moving target. But the pod will not follow the target, it doesn't matter if it's TV or IR mode. Any ideas? Putze

I can only select zoom level 2X at narrow field of view on the ATFLIR, while on the Litening I can select 9X This gives the Litening TGP a much greater viewing distance Is the zoom level on the ATFLIR that much worst IRL or a DCS bug? 2 screenshots of maximum zoom of both TGP pods

today i find that MARK point disappear when rearm,in MP, i have marked 6 target point, MK1 to MK6,but after landing i rearm my GBUs,then i find that i only have MK1,all the Mark poin data have disappeared

As from today's update the take off assistance percentage bar has been removed from the 'Special' options,so now you will not get any take off assistance at all should you require it.....it was there before the update, but now it's been removed. It seems it's the only Warbird that is missing this option all the others still have this option. As I don't recall it being an issue with anyone....I am at a loss to why it's been removed......any ideas ?

So last I knew when in TWS mode you are able to cycle the bug among detected targets with TMS right-short, and as of late that doesn't appear to be working. Is anyone else having that problem? Or did something change?

Is the autopilot still being worked on? Feel like when I leave it on my aircraft still rolls like crazy.

correct as-is hung start on latest update is not a real thing
Simba11 posted a topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Dear ED i dont know who told you that you will get a hung start if you don't stable lize a 20% before going to idle but that's actually not a thing. -
I can't find a comment in the manual confirming this as correct. While in one of the two Override modes, DMS right (assuming we have the FCR on the left MFD) is ignored, preventing switching between SMS and the HSD. DMS up, left and down are working normally. Switching pages on the non-FCR-MFD is still possible by navigating through the respective OSBs, yet naturally you won't be in the mood to hit some OSB when in a dogfight (override-situation), as we have HOTAS for stuff like this. If you switch to HSD by OSB, navigating back to SMS won't show the INV as an option in the stores main page. You still can select it via OSB 4.

This is most likely my mistake but while doing the F/A-18C training on HSI and Tacan, the Tacan station info does not show on the HUD when the voiceover says it should. I see the TACAN and bearing and range info on the LDDI HSI page and I have the Tacan tuned correctly, I just don't see any info on the HUD. I also don't see a BOX around the word TCN when I select it. Any ideas? One more question - if I use HDG select to mark the TACAN marker on the HSI, why does the HEADING BUG move faster than the TACAN station. I would have thought they should both move at the same speed if I am turning towards them?
