English Cockpit In progres?

Hello all,

First let me congratulate RAZBAM on this module, it is absolutely stunning. Sure. IFF is desperately needed and the missiles seem a tad anemic, but she truly is a gorgeous bird. I have yet to find a shot for my desktop background other then something from this game with her in it. This question is specifically directed at either the developers, or DCS modders.

Is there a plan to do an English cockpit?

I realize this may contradict some realism aspect, but you see, I have a hell of a time remembering positions, warning lights, etc. when its in a foreign language. I am strongly considering making this my next in depth study, and first real multiplayer bird, but i worry without English being the predominate language, I am doomed to fail.

Any update, or info would be greatly appreciated. The search function on here appeared to fail me, in case it was already mentioned.

Secondary search reveals that indeed Razbam intends to an English mod, and there is one modder in the community hard at work in the meantime.

I have created a version 0.8 which fixes compatibility with 2.0.1.49921.15.

Are you sure? I just counted. I made 240 label changes in my version, plus the matching masks, button glows, backlighting, etc.

./shrug though, it's not for everyone.

But how many of those were just changing M and A to ON and OFF? I can't speak a lick of French and can't figure out what's so hard about the Mirage's cockpit...even in aircraft with English cockpits I never actually read the labels because I already know what the switch and its positions do....I guess that's just me.

I think that Nealius was noting that so many acronyms meant the cockpit is not easily "readable" for the average french-speaking people either.

And you don't have to. Like Nealius said there is hardly a single french word to be found in the M2000 cockpit. Just a bunch of acronyms which you have to learn in any cockpit, including english ones.

I also don't speak a single word of french (well, ok, I know "merci" ;)) and have no issue with this cockpit. I just had to learn M and A for ON and OFF and G and D for Left and Right. That's pretty much it. It's not like the russian cockpits (especially the KA-50) with their cyrillic letters that make english cockpits necessary IMO.

yes, there's a bunch of M/A to ON/OFF and D/G to L/R, but everything now is abbreviated for the english word... to some that's useful, to some it isn't

Whatever anybody wants to use, we have promised an english cockpit with the M-2000C before it leaves beta. I am working on the official english cockpit right now, and it is well underway.

Much appreciated! I'm already used to the french cockpit although I most likely will switch to english when it's all said and done. Thank you.
