The optics filters are there to help visibility under certain weather/atmospheric conditions. Those conditions don't exist in-game, so the filters would be a waste of development time to implement, since it would be purely cosmetic, and there are plenty of other higher priority items to implement, as well as actual bug fixes, etc.

Basically I'm saying don't expect to ever see this implemented until the "atmospheric" engine of the game would make it worthwhile.

Slightly OT - Sometimes I'm really surprised to see "sim pilot's greed" never ending. Heyho, we already have a cockpit with almost every buttton, switch, lever, gauge, etc. working. Out of the Box! No need to fetch/buy and install any add ons and stuff - just start the engines and fly... :)

But maybe, this is the very reason for so many of us (including but not limited to me) continuously asking for more?

It doesn't work, due to problems of modelling Russian ECM combined with ground units as it's been said long time ago :)

I guess it is still valid.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Damn them, I wish they'd figuer that crap out cause I want to atleast be able to spoof something

You won't even know when to spoof without a RWR. Also, i am pretty convinced that the modelled airframe doesn't have the capability.

The HSI or the Atittude indecator?

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

There is no flag being shown on the HSI, so I will assume you mean the Attitude Indicator.

Assigned pitch and bank steering not available flag. If no steering information is available, this red flag will be visible in the top left corner of the ADI.

"Steering information" will never be available, so that flag (DIR) will always be there. This is how the real aircraft works as well. Steering commands are displayed on the HUD (in FD autopilot mode).

With that being said, I'm pretty disappointed with the rain drops not doing anything on my cockpit windshield. I'd loved to have the effect of raindrops being wiped away with wipers (makes a good spook flick too).

But seriously, why haven't you implemented it in the new BS, ED???

I have a question regarding the P-51D: Is it going to use the engine from BS2 or A-10 or BS1? Or will it get an entirely new, CPU-effing engine? Pardon my French.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Why does that not function in dcs blackshark 1? program issues?

I guess the shark we fly in the game is the first working prototype. 2 variants of the shark 50 were developed later. The Ka-50N (Noche=Night ops), and the Ka-50SH (Shhhhhh.. SHHHHHSSSSSHHH!!!!!... For the RuSSSHHHHIAAAN Navy)

And for this feature to be made use of, we should have the night type of the shkval (dunno the name but in google,wiki,etc.. alot of shit about the ka-50 you don't find in the BS_FlightManual.pdf)...
