Anyone else get this? And if so is it just a VR thing?

I've never seen it do that on a monitor.

Does everyone get this? I wonder when we are expecting to get those new clouds they talked about a long time ago.

As Skate said, this has nothing to do with VR, it's how the cloud shaders work. ("Billboarding") There isn't a chance in hell that ED is going to be able to change the current clouds so as not to billboard, so we'll all need to wait patiently for the new cloud shaders. (Which I hope have received some progress since the last shots, because they looked very blurry. :()

I get this too. I was pretending that they were just simulating rotors...even though I've never seen a rotor roll quite that fast. :D

EVGA Z690 Classified, Intel i9 12900KS Alder Lake processor, MSI MAG Core Liquid 360R V2 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB DDR5 6400 memory, EVGA RTX3090 FTW3 Ultra 24GB video card, Samsung 980PRO 1TB M2.2280 SSD for Windows 10 64-bit OS, Samsung 980PRO 2TB M2.2280 SSD for program files, LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray burner. Interestingly, I have been testing a lot with FlyInside and Prepar3D and the clouds have been rotating the same way in that sim. So definitely not a DCS World issue alone.

I use REX clouds for that, btw.

Just wait that we get the new cloud system.

We don't have now than couple different cloud shapes and weather conditions. Like we are totally missing clouds like

Those would make aircrafts flying more interesting when you could hide and conceal yourself against IRST or IR missiles and other visual spotting.

Yes it is, but hopefully changes when the new weather system gets implemented....

I have fingers crossed to get the above kind (post #12) clouds and all other realistic kind ones that are changing the visual cover to ground as well for up in the air, so we can fly between cloud formations and go to hide'n'seek there when being silent. It will turn every GCI assisted combat interesting as you can go stealthy, without alarming others and who first pings with radar will lose.

That's a problem, how DCS alignes the cloud sprites to the camera. They use the roll of the camera as upvector instead of the worlds up axis.

Would be ez to fix.

I hope they fix it soon because it's highly annoying in vr. Up to the point that I rather play in clear sky only.

I created a bug ticket for that one and I got a reply from Wags:

"This an aspect of the current cloud technology."

After that, the ticket was closed. No mention of a new "cloud technology" being developed. So I guess we have to live with this annoying rotation.

It would be nice to get an update on the new clouds. In VR distant contrails disappear when you turn your head sometimes too. I'm assuming that is related to the same issue.
