So I'm hopefully getting ready to build a new pc. I'm not trying to break the bank or build a super computer. I just want something that will let me play DCS fairly smoothly, for a little while without having to low ball all of the graphics settings. Could someone with pc hardware knowledge take a look at the components I picked out for my build? And, give input on whether or not, I would get pretty reasonable performance in, DCS? Or on what you would suggest changing? I budgeted myself on between $3-$4k, so a 5090 is not in my wheelhouse. This build puts me around $3,400 before I start price comparing and deal shopping. Thanks

Fully aware there is a slider to increase chances of bird strikes but it would be nice to know you had a bird strike minus one of your engines just going out randomly. I have a lua script to tell a player if they had a bird strike but other then that you're just flying along and your engine goes out. No other signs visually or audible of a bird strike. Some ideas: - Visually see the bird before impact or flock of birds to avoid them. - Visual bird marking on aircraft(blood). - some kind of audible noise like a thud on impact or your engine taking a bird. Next level: - A way the mission editor can implement bird density areas and altitudes. - Canopy damage or bird bouncing off with the sound effect to follow VR users would crap themselves But seriously please make a change to the current system, having your engine go out randomly without any indication it was a bird strike is weird.

Are there plans to change the controls when in vr for gunners? I find the aiming system to be extremely hard in vr. When set to move with head movement the view angle makes it extremely hard to get any semblance of accuracy. When set to aim with with device, it's pretty much the same.. it's like the vr view is impeding aiming.. cant get a good angle to really aim down the barrel. As for the rear ramp and gunner. Is the requirement to not have a gunner in place to load troops/supplies the way it will stay? I can understand having to remove the gunner for large crates to be loaded.. but not troops they should be able to go around the rear gunner imo. Thanks

Hello all, Apologies if this has already been suggested, I had a quick look around on the forum when I was setting up my bindings and couldn't find anything similar. This is purely a suggestion to add separate axis bindings for the Jester menu so that an analogue stick may be used in place of a POV-Hat or TrackIr (similar to how certain console games work). I have a VKB Gunfighter MCG Pro and would like to use the left analogue stick (since I used the trim hat for well... trim) unfortunately, the only bindings that are present (as far as I could tell) are for mapping discrete directions for a POV-hat.

Hello guys! So i was just sitting here and thinking about all the new Aircraft we will be getting in the future and had to ask myself: How will the quantity of aircraft be handled on multiplayer servers? At the moment, every Aircraft has to be placed on the airfield and made client flyable. With increasing number of Air-frames, and i see this problem on some servers already, there is less and less space on an airfield to place all possible Air-frames a client might want to fly. My suggestion would be, to introduce a hollow "Client-Plane", which simply provides a Slot on the multiplayer server, which a player can enter and is then prompted to select a plane from a list of flyable airplanes. This list could be depended on modules installed and can influenced with a white-/blacklist by the Mission-designer. This Problem might not be as critical right now, but surely will be in the future with 50+ flyable airplanes. I searched around the forum, if something like this has already been suggested, but couldn't quite find anything. Maybe there are other solutions, it's just a problem i think should be pointed out.

i suggest ED add option to edit kneeboard ( typing ) in kneeboard during game play atleast make last page editable or available to write notes on it . it will be very handful to write important notes specially for old planes ex. Mig-21

I often spend most of my time making missions and I would just like to make suggestions for units to be added. Artillery: Australia, Canada, Colombia, India, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and the United States: M777 Howitzer 155mm (Modern 2000-present) ________________________________________________________________________________ Soviet Russia/Russia, and many many other countries from South Africa to Asia, Vietnam war to current: M46 130mm (1951-Present): ________________________________________________________________________________ United States, South and North America, Middle Eastern and South Eastern Countries, used in Vietnam war to present conflicts M114 155mm (1942-present): _________________________________________________________________________________ NOTE: In order to make them mobile, some sort of animation will be needed where a truck could hitch up an artillery piece and tow it, this would also make for more interesting scenarios for convoys but as a start can do without mobility ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ground launch ATGM (Stationary Units): United States and many others, BGM-71 TOW, from Vietnam War to present (1970-present): _________________________________________________________________________________ Soviet Russia and many others, 9K111 Fagot, from Vietnam War to present (1970-present): Note: It would be interesting to have troops able to deploy these ATGM Launchers in the field after getting to their destination ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yes this is a game/sim for aircraft, but I reckon most players spend their time doing air to ground then any other in DCS, more cold war aircraft are coming out and these units I suggested I tried to aim for a cold war setting to add life the those dates. In Mission Editor for the Towed Artillery and ATGM Launchers, it would be great to have a box to tick to weather or not have a semi circle wall of sandbags as a defence. Picture below with the Artillery or ATGM firing from behind it.

Vehicle dust trails that look like your tanks are driving over the Arabian Desert look a bit ridiculous in the wet grasslands of the Falklands, just as pictured below. null On some bits of ground (such as around RAF Mount Pleasant), these dust trails are disabled. They are also disabled on roads etc. It would be brilliant if this could be the case over the whole map. It would improve immersion and make it a bit less easy to plink off tanks whose sandy dust trails currently make them visible from (literally) twenty miles away. This would be brilliant, because this terrain is one of very few in the DCS library that works for large-scale ground warfare, since the AI can't cope with navigating the forest and buildings that the Falklands are mostly devoid of. Many thanks.

Hi gents, I have, on my Hornet and Viper, the radar elevation mapped to the thumb rotatory (Logical 14&15, Physical 15&16), however the movement is way to slow, changing one altitude mile every two steps. These are my button settings: Ideally I could create an axis so I can set up the value for each step, but I have them all full (L+R Throttle, 2xDials, Flaps handle, VR Zoom, Radar stick): Yet when I assign the radar elevation to other buttons, it moves faster as I'm able to keep them pressed. I cannot be the only one with this problem, does anybody have a solution? Thanks.

Just a little one. Is it possible to change the default Camera Position so, that it lines up with the Boresight rings?

Currently, I'm looking for a suggestion to purchase my gaming laptop. I have already checked out some good devices from Asus and Lenovo, but I'm in confusion about which one should I take. I couldn't decide yet because I don't have enough knowledge in this area. Below I have included what specs should have on my new laptop and the game lists, Which I want to play without frame dropping or other issues. Please check and suggest to me the best one Spec's Requirements: Processor: Core i7, i9 or Ryzen 7, 9 Display: FHD / OLED Storage: At least 1 TB RAM: At least 16 GB Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX3050TI at least Game lists: World War GTA 5 FIFA 22 Ever Quest The Witcher 3 Dying Light Hitman 3 half-life alyx Is this site providing Zephyrus g14 legal price, caused I have faced some issues on price with our country reseller, they're asking too much price than the official price. Should take from here, I am also seeking this advice https://mcsolution.com.bd/laptop/asus/rog-zephyrus/g14/ Hope I will receive my best suggestions from the DCS community. Thanks in advance

Hi, as a suggestion: because VR visors are not very bright there are some conditions (like in overcast weather) where data in the MFDs is very difficult to see. I have the MFD brightness turned up to eleven, but I would be thankful if this could be increased even more to avoid unnecessary eye strain. Thanks.

Hey everyone! definitely not a priority, but by looking at the example of the MB339, I found it quite interesting how the module enables users to customize their pilot’s helmet and mask through the option menu. Drawing on the Mirage module, it would also be great to see a key added to turn up and down the sun visor. Perhaps all this can come in the anticipated changes to the pilot model!

Here is a small QoL suggestion when arming your jet: add a small letter/number identifier to the icon for each weapon (for example a J for AIM-9J or a 2 on Magic 2s) The reason i suggest this is because on some weapons the icon are quite similar or even the same between similar (mk82 SnakeEye/Air Ballute) and quite different (in capabilty) weapons (Magic 1 and 2) and adding a small letter/number or 2 would help the pilot to confirm at a glance that he/she has selected the intended weapon without having to hover over each pylon again to confirm To often ive accidently selected the wrong weapon without noticing creating problems for me in the mission

ive got so many modules and ive yet to really use the vast majority of em so i thought it would be cool if we had a random option for wallpapers that as the name suggests displays a random wallpaper of the available to the player

I was wondering what the community thinks about using the F10 maps for missions. Clearly in the real world, a pilot will spend x3 of total mission time in the briefing room planning, learning the mission, the maps, routes, enemies, etc In DCS there is no briefing room to my knowledge, and we only have the F10 map that can be used while in the plane. But it makes me fill like I fake it when I look at the map, since it shows my location and sometimes the enemy location and more data then what would have been available in the briefing room pre-flight. Any thoughts? What is the best way to make everything fill real

This was suggested 6 years ago and still is a good idea. Make this part of rearm/refuel menu. Also for the Spitfire (and german planes?). This wouldn't break realism. Ground crew routinely switched crystals didn't they? Radio works in Hoggit training map I just confirmed (Spitfire and P51D, TF51D) but none of frequencies are particularly useful (Krymsk, Soganlug). I can only see the frequencies with the help of SRS radio overlay, which is fine, SRS cannot switch frequency in air or ground (also fine).
