bennz Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) Thanks all for responses I have tried running with and without full screen and disable aero. No joy Compatibility mode was set at file level which I removed now but still not working. I downloaded it from the torrent link in their website and managed to download updates. It worked fine ( with horrible graphics ) on my other laptop which only has intel graphics and I just ran it without modifying a thing. All drivers up today's. I switched between nvidia and intel (CPU embedded ) graphics and non helped. Now I'm interested to know how dcs.exe requests memory and GPU access. There's definitely some coding problems ( maybe optimisation?)which relates to how this process requests and access memory or other resources which in some cases causes this problem. ED Team c0ff Posted February 10, 2014 ED Team Posted February 10, 2014 Now I'm interested to know how dcs.exe requests memory and GPU access. Before you dive deep into the details... It would be nice to see logs and crash files from your normal OS. It may seem redundant, but what we have documented at this point is your remark "Win7 64 bit" and a log, saying "Vista SP2". bennz Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 As I mentioned I tried running it under compatibility mode after everything else didn't work. I will revert the settings and send the logs through. If that is going to resolve the issue. Thanks
Timghetta Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I tried everything after running the update 1.2.7.23803. Will not start, gets up to 10% progress bar then crashes. Can not even get to the menu. Says: DCS has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Tried repair, and to update again, says ok, checked DX, vcredist_x64, and run as admin, even deleted the \Saved Games\DCS\ folder to rebuild new one. Nothing, same thing. Anything I can do to fix this? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] We take the Metal and bring it to Mesh

BitMaster Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Bennz, I had a similar issue on my 2nd rig, Asus Laptop, it just wouldnt start, tried everything, multiple reinstalles etc... NV drivers, VC back and forth...in the end I reinsatlled Win7 from scratch and it worked out of the box. I think it is related to some other software you are having installed or had installed that kills/killed your installations. I assume, personally, its related to MS VC stuff. You may reinstall Win7 if you can do this yourself. Midnight Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Hey leafer, I am sure you have done this but for in case: MSVCR110.dll is the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable dll that is needed for projects built with Visual Studio 2011. The dll letters spell this out. MS = Microsoft, V = Visual, C = C++, R = Redistributable For DCS to get started, this file is probably needed. This error appears when you wish to run a software which require the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2012. The redistributable can easily be downloaded on the Microsoft website as x86 or x64 edition. Depending on the software you wish to install you need to install either the 32 bit or the 64 bit version.
